So for those like me who had no idea who that was that debuted at the end of the main event, this is her. Apparently she was in AEW 2 years ago and has gone through a drastic change in her look. All I gotta say is she looks damn good! And apparently she's a great worker and good on the mic too.

Once I saw her old pics, I remembered who she was. Damn girl, she put the work in.

Re: AEW Rampage Thread
I'm talking in terms of sending IMPACT's best after Omega. I mean, who else logically had a chance of winning? Brian Myers is the #1 contender right now...there was no way in hell he was beating Omega. If you needed an AEW guy to win the IMPACT title, they should have had that match at IMPACT's next iPPV which is friday.Last Movie Watched: Morbius (2022).
Last TV Show Watched: MARVEL's What If?...(S3:E7).

Re: AEW Rampage Thread
Will this Friday be the beginning of big changes in the industry? Sure feels like it. With WWE being mostly unwatchable and AEW flourishing/giving talent more freedom, if Punk and Bryan actually show up there and succeed in moving the needle, will we see more talent deflect for AEW?Comment

Re: AEW Rampage Thread
I keep looking back on this episode of Rampage and keep wondering why it just makes me feel different, and honestly, I think it's because it's exactly what I wanted?
I kinda wanted Christian to win the IMPACT world title, but moreso wanted a reason to believe that Christian v Omega at All Out had a chance of being 50/50. Still think Omega retains at All Out, but at least I got those seeds of doubt.
Miro/Fuego felt like internet fan service and it rules. Miro getting got by Fuego to start and to finish in dominating fashion while calling out the rest of the roster for being scared ruled. I thought they were gonna do a DQ finish(silly me) so Fuego could still get the contract, but to have the Sammy moment afterwards felt really cool and special. Fuego being All Elite doesn't move the needle a bunch. He's probably a top mid carder at best, but he gets stability in his life and career, and it's so hard for me not to root for that.
Baker/Velvet was about what I expected. Crowd took the match from bang average to good, and Baker winning was the obvious, correct, and desired outcome. Not much to say as I don't think a big swerve was ever gonna happen here, and it's nice that it wasn't even really teased we just got what we wanted
Two low points were the everyone-saw-this-being-bad 4 man booth, Jericho was easily the worst just because he had to do that weird yelling voice the whole time. Hayter coming back was cool I suppose, but I feel like we all deserved a bit of a primer on her coming back,a Dark match or a vignette, kinda feel flat for her and deflated the feeling at the end of the show a bit.
Either way it's just nice to be excited and amped for wrestling each and every week again.Support Local Sports

Raw is pretty average to below average and Smackdown is arguably the best wrestling show on Television, Money in the Bank was the best PPV in years = WWE is unwatchable?

Outside of Roman, WWE is unwatchable.

Re: AEW Rampage Thread
I haven't been interested in wrestling since the pandemic, that goes for both WWE and AEW. Even Roman's stuff is just something I'll watch on the internet. There isn't a single wrestling show that I've actually wanted to sit down and watch outside of Rampage last week (because it was the debut) and WrestleMania this year. I'll watch Rampage this Friday and whenever Bryan is supposed to show up. Other than that, got no desire to watch wrestling. Maybe AEW will change that with their new acquisitions but I'm still keeping my expectations low.
AEW at least feels different...WWE peaked in the Attitude/RA era with that grimey feel. This overproduced nonsense is a huge turn-off, the overscripted promos make for really bad/awkward acting, and again PPVs don't mean anything because they all wrestle each other multiple times prior to a PPV match.
TLDR; WWE's current style just isn't for me. If you like it, more power to you.Last edited by cima; 08-17-2021, 01:56 PM.Comment

Not that I really care at all, but Shinsuke/Rick Boogs also rules.Support Local Sports

Re: AEW Rampage Thread
Considering how amazingly boring Shinsuke has been for the majority of his main roster run it’s fun to actually get excited for his stuff again.
Same with Corbin.

Shrug I was just going with the conversation. I don't think we're going to be able to avoid it because people are obsessed with comparing AEW and WWE at every turn.Support Local Sports

Re: AEW Rampage Thread
One thing I think is really cool, Daniel Garcia was meant to headline a local St. Louis event, this Friday, at an Elks Lodge and is now the main event on network TV against Jon Monkey at the United Center. Feel nothing but unbridled joy for a story like that.
Side note, if you haven't checked out much from recent appearers Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia, they had a nice match at IWTV100. A little role reversal from their AEW stuff to this, but still was a fun watch.
Also just so incredibly excited for Rampage and the 1000 different things that could happen after the thing most want to see happen.Support Local Sports
