Re: WWE RAW & Smackdown Thread

Waller: You weren't supposed to be here. I was gonna call you out, Theory comes out dressed like you, we make fun of you, that's how it's supposed to go.

Owens: Jokes on you (points at Theory) I've never looked better! Are those my shorts? I've been looking for those for weeks!

That was the greatest (unintentional?) transition ever.

    *Backstage*

Becky: I'm cool. I'm cool. I'm cool Becky Lynch. Cool.

*Show cuts back to ringside as Carlitos theme hits*

Theme: You know what cool is?

I'd take a Sasha Banks return over a Punk return quite honestly. Don't you tease me like this Bayley.
Dream scenario, Damage CTRL turns on Bayley.

    Bayley becomes a face.

She apologizes and teams up with Becky and Charlotte, but they're one woman short....."IS IT? COULD IT BE? IT IS! ITS BOSS TIME!"

Very weak ending for the show before a PPV

The fallout from SS should be fun.

Usually after SS is the "dead period" where it just feels like WWE is producing shows for the sake of producing shows, just going through the motions in December knowing people are more focused on Christmas, and by January is when they ramp it up again.

But after how SS went (Bayley sacrificing herself for her team but taking the pin, Priest being the one to lose in their wargames match when a cash in was gonna happen, Orton returns, Punk returns), part of me feels like we might get the RTWM slowly starting now.

HHH has been good at doing the slow builds for things and actually seeing it through to the end, so perhaps the builds do start now and seeds planted all December.

Punk is for sure gonna be on Raw tomorrow?

Easily see Rollins confronting him during the show, especially after Rollins' reaction when Punk came out.

            He'll be at Raw.

I can't wait for the Raw where Rollins does his own pipe bomb/parody at Punks expense.

I wonder what the plans even are for Punk. If Rollins is his WM opponent, hopefully we get Punk vs Nakamura and Punk vs Balor before then. Then if he sticks around post WM he could go up against Styles.

WWE Confirms that both Randy Orton and CM Punk will be on RAW tomorrow night following their returns at Survivor Series.

                No word on R-Truth?

For real though, all the talk about Orton and Punk, Truth did deserve some of the talk too.

He was out for a year due to an injury during an NXT match where he tried doing something I don't think he's ever done before.

Wonder if he'll wind down soon too since he's in his 50s and after an injury like that, probably not something he'd want to risk again. I hope he becomes a manager for someone or a backstage producer.

The first hour of RAW tonight will be COMMERCIAL FREE according to RAW GM Adam Pearce. So CM Punk is opening up RAW right?

An uninterrupted 20 min segment is what I'm hoping for. Let's really give it an "old school" vibe where Raw just kicks off with a giant segment answering all sorts of questions people have wanted answered while building a lot more too.

Hopefully it’s good and not that self grandising garbage he bored everyone to death with at his AEW debut.

Basically you want CM Punk to be a fake version of himself then lol.

There is some real irony to how CM Punk first became known as a guy being outspoken about WWE becoming very corporate and scripted and anti-individual when it comes to wrestlers having freedom of input ... and now he's back in a WWE that is even more safe and clean and corporate than it ever was back then. And the idea that he is possibly better off here than he was in the more open and old-school improv style of AEW. Dude is either a hypocrite or needs to be saved from himself lol.

I think WWE is less like the thing he hated back then.

Doesn't mean he's coming back suddenly a changed guy, but like we saw in AEW, if it fails for him in WWE, there's nobody to blame but himself.

This is pretty much how I feel too. I've become indifferent toward Punk the person over the last few years. But I missed his first run with WWE back in the day so I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited about this chance he has.

I want this to work, but it's up to him.

The culture in WWE is much different now than it was back when he was there so hopefully that's a good sign.

You almost forget how different things were when he left.

The Shield hadn't even broken up yet, New Day wasn't a thing, NXT never had any PLEs.

Things like that impacts the culture backstage too because the early 10s was really just the leftovers from the RA era with that old mindset too. It was the mid 10s when things slowly started changing, and obviously more so the last year where it's been much different.
