I wouldn't have minded at least another week or two of who Roman's partner might be. Tease Jimmy, start teasing a OG Bloodline reunion, etc. Definitely sounds like we are getting Cody/Roman 3 at Survivor Series.

I think it was a bit swift as well. They could have played it longer. I did love Cody's promo though re: it being his ring and all that. They could cast Cody aside by Jimmy saying **** like "yo you don't need that guy, he's not blood" etc. Also would piss Cody off cuz he was cast aside initially for WM too.

New theme for the show sucks. The logo is a bit confusing. The S is OK but the "stacked" logo is bizarre.

Nia is very unnatural and rehearsed on the mic, yup. Sounded especially bad today.

          Great show otherwise.

Good show. I really hope something happens and Cody gets taken out or some other reason he can’t compete in the match. Bad Blood seems the perfect time to bring back Jimmy.

            But…

I’ll let em cook. I assume they already know how they’re going to bring the OG Bloodline back together and I’m sure it will be awesome. So I’ll just shut up and enjoy the ride haha

When Vince was running things those last few years we all seen things that would be better, it was so obvious at times.

With Paul it's better to enjoy the ride as you say. It's not easy for us fans to relax and see where it goes.
I think because of not always looking for a different way they could have done something like I used to I view WWE more as a fan and less like a critic and I'm really enjoying it.

I didn't see SD until today but have just been seeing people talk about Ricky and "We Want Ricky". I fully thought it was Ricky Starks. Even more disappointed seeing that guy of all people.

The full logo I'm not sold on, but seems like the logo was designed more just to use the SD part of the logo (which looks good on the mic) and the horizontal/wordmark logo like we see on the LED banners in the arena.

He's done with the Bloodline, but he's not done with Roman Reigns and Roman isn't done with him. This seemed more to be about Roman (as to why Cody accepted) than Solo.

I haven't liked most show themes they've had the last 10+ years. But this one especially just feels like a "for the kids" type of theme with them using a Megan thee Stallion.

Nia needs Tiffany and Pretty Deadly. Those three prop her up so much and can be the ones who do all the talking.

The internet, along with endless fantasy booking things into oblivion, has taken away so much from just enjoying the show. Even the way people praise the shows today is always from the perspective of booking. Complimenting how they are telling a story vs just complimenting the story. And coming up with every possible way to book something, as opposed to just being immersed and enjoying the escapism. People just can't help themselves.

Wrestling isn't the only fandom stuck in this mindset, although, I do agree with you. I think the older you get the harder it becomes to not create 'fantasy fiction' in any medium. Whether it's wrestling, sci-fi, fantasy, or any genre in any artform.

Smackdown was pretty good, like the way it ended but was really hoping it was bein g set up for Jimmy, it's funny seeing Fatu standing there with his hands in prayer looking at Solo like "I love you my Tribal Chief please let me get at them dudes in the ring" Heh

But it reminds me of when Heyman walks with Reigns or even mentions "Roman Reigns" on the mic

I fall into this category and don't know why. When I watched back in the day I was able to just let myself go along with the ride but for whatever reason I can no longer do that. Whats funny is I'm going through a full wrestling history rewatch of sorts and I'm currently in mid-97 and even though I know all about it from a booking angle, the booking is the last thing on my mind. I can just immerse myself and enjoy the ride.

And I can do that in other media, like ROP and HOTD where I just sit back and watch and don't try to "stay ahead" of the showrunners, e.g. season 1 of ROP trying to guess who Sauron was. I just watched.

Not sure why its different with modern wrestling.

I think it's just a modern way people consume things.

Everyone has to be the "fantasy booker" or "Monday morning quarterback" or "armchair gm" or whatever you want to call it.

It adds extra (fantasy) investment in what you're watching which at the same time can ironically impact your interest when it doesn't happen.
