I don’t think Punk was asked about it. I think he saw Brian Alvarez in the scrum and decided to address the whole situation (as Alvarez was one of the ones who went on a “incredulous rant” about Punk going into business himself).

And apparently, “something” happened after the scrum.

I'm pretty sure Punk and Colt Cabana can't stand each other, but this all feels like a worked shoot to build up suspense.

Either that or Khan is losing control of his company while he sits back looking tweaked out of his mind.

        Re: AEW All Out (9/4/22)

I’ve been nothing but optimistic, overly positive-minded with AEW to this point, but holy hell is everything sloppy right now. I watched the overwhelming majority of the event and while there was great wrestling on display, the overall feeling of lack of direction just couldn’t be ignored. I want this to do well and go well but man, someone has got to get control of the place that isn’t under the influence of some controlled substance. It’s just bizarre to me how much things seem to be out of any kind of control.

There were so many spots that could have really made for great memories to be had, but everything just seems so rushed as if there’s someone screaming “don’t stop keep going” backstage while high on stimulants and just refusing to let the momentum slow enough for the viewers to enjoy what they’re watching for a moment.

It could be just how much they’re trying to pack into “one” event with this layout. It just all seems so rushed, to the point where great wrestling is not being stopped and admired like it really should be. I just get the sense that management is overwhelmed right now. Perhaps if a roster/brand split between AEW and ROH took place and allowed proper spacing for segments, that would help. I understand the money investment that Khan has and his wanting to manage it all himself, but at some point, doing too much is doing the whole investment an injustice.

I’m probably misspeaking or off, but just making assessments as I see them.

So, CM Punk had to be a work, right?

Because now the reports is that The Bucks, Omega, and Hangman want out. There is no way, right?

I’m not even invested in AEW but holy hell these reports of backstage drama are beyond exhausting. CM Punk just seems to be a huge cancer and they should just let him go

We'll look back on these few years when WWE had a real alternative and wonder when it will happen again lol. Between the leaks, talent being upset, everything is falling apart for TK. If this is real... imagine Hunter bringing in The Elite after AEW is no more. It would be crazy.

                    Re: AEW All Out (9/4/22)

It's apparent that the talent meeting had absolutely zero effect on the situation.

It's going to be interesting to see how this is navigated. It's rumored that the Bucks and Omega were threatening to walk out after an altercation between the Bucks and Punk (a security guard went sprinting out of the scrum a few minutes after Punk left).

Is it a work? There's a part of me that says yes. Then there's a part of me that thinks TK's company is blowing up in his face because he wants to be everyone's friend.

I did like the anecdote that Punk was wearing Danhausen's boots and he owes him more money now.

I never got to see this angle. I think Tony experienced every emotion over these 20 minutes. And Denise's audio is 1000x better than what went live over AEW's live stream.

                        NSFW language obviously.

It's best for the industry, talent and audience that AEW stick around and continue to grow.

I'm not sure if all this is a work or a shoot with Punk going into (again) "business for himself" at the expense of fellow talent.

It feels too messy and disjointed (plus without storytelling logic) to be part of a larger work, though.

At the same time it is a great way to turn Punk heel and place MJF (and his "group" or new alliance) in a conquering anti-hero role.

Not sure if this is the dying days of WCW type turmoil or "work shoot, bro" TNA trying to create a bigger buzz.

Fitting term I heard coined online.

We didn't get the summer of punk, but what if we get the "Fall of Punk".

                              Double entendre.

But I do feel like it's a work. We just recently had reports of a meeting backstage and one thing addressed was leaking things to the media. Suddenly every last detail about backstage stuff is being leaked to the media?

We know AEWs fanbase is made up largely of "Internet fans", and AEW has an obsession with wrestling journalists, but they also want to add a realism element to their product. Isn't playing the dirt sheets and making fans believe things that are scripted are real part of that? Some of wrestling best stories have a realism element to them. Who knows if this is real or not, but it has me wanting to see what happens on TV, and isn't that the whole point of wrestling stories?

Or maybe it's real....after all, I was fully convinced the entire Cody leaving AEW thing was just a story.

Very Vince Russo vibes to a lot of this. Hopefully it all turns into an amazing story we’ll
Be talking about for years. I don’t want a world where WWE had no competition again
