All reports saying it's not a work and if so then it's just embarrassing. Tony Khan is a fool if backing CM Punk is the hill he wants to die on. Like others have stated, can you imagine a wrestler cutting off/talking over Vince McMahon in a media scrum like that? It would never happen or if it did that person wouldn't get away with it.

If Khan had to choose between The Elite and CM Punk, you choose The Elite 11/10 times.

Sadly, if all this isn't resolved then he'll definitely side with ******* Punk.

And the unintended consequence of siding with Punk with all this is that there is the strong likelihood he'll eventually turn on Tony too.

Punk's just a petty, politicking, arrogant ****head like all the guys he claims to hate.

He suspended their global ambassador Titus for a month just for trying to grab/ him aside on live TV to talk to him. Cut him off in a media availability (or sneeze) and you're done for.

If it's real, I wonder if there's a bigger story than just Tony taking Punks side. If he was on the same page as the elite beforehand, he wouldn't have a problem backing them up.

Maybe Cody really did leave for a certain reason. If they were willing to walk, perhaps there have been similar thoughts on the elites end of following Cody's path to leave.

I hope there's nothing wrong though, especially on Tony's end. He seems like he's real invested in all of this and owners like him won't come around too often in wrestling.

It’s looking real “Dark Side of Wrestling”

But this is what happens when egos collide. Kenny & The Bucks also have a history of politicking as well.

And these guys just quietly booked themselves as trio champs lmao.

              Good point.

I only followed the Elite's careers from a far and didn't know about any of their political stuff backstage.

It is definitely egos and pride colliding, but also the Elite looking out for a friend (even to a fault).

                Re: AEW All Out (9/4/22)

Cody leaving was shocking at first but it made more sense as time went on and how he was being treated in WWE combined with all the rumors of what WWE was willing to give Cody, not to mention Cody still wants to fulfill his childhood dream of being WWE champion. And I believe Cody had some issues with Tony Khan as well.

CM Punk has done some damage which may be irreversible. Combine that with The Elites seeing how WWE is treating Cody, knowing Triple H is in charge now and if Khan doesn't do something about CM Punk then we may see The Elite follow Cody to WWE.

Either way I am definitely tuning in tomorrow night because I think it's pretty clear now this isn't a work but controversy definitely creates cash cause I wanna see what happens next.

Cornette is more than happy to blur the lines between real and fake. He's been doing that from the start. His interview with FTR felt like a promo he would cut if he were their kayfabe manager.

The funny part is the pro-AEW/indy crowd getting mad at him, while the cult of Cornette cheering him on, all the while he's working everyone.

That's what would happen in real life. They'd all be sent home for a while, or fired/suspended.

But since this is pro wrestling, people will say "but Shawn and Bret had a legit fight backstage in '97 and they were back." Or "sports teams have shuffles and it's no big deal." Except this is 2022, and they are filming a TV show not playing legit competitive sports. If this were all real, and people are going to be sued, no one is back any time soon.

They need to turn this into business. Wednesday will be a make it or break it point in history for AEW. It could be the start of something great or the downfall of the company.

Intriguing for sure. I'm thinking this is legitimate, and very well will be the final retirement of CM Punk. Dude is just toxic, and a mark for himself.

Triple H won't bring him back. He just killed his opportunity with AEW unless Kahn is an absolute idiot.

                          Good riddance, Punk.

If this is real, and I think it probably is, TK has a huge decision to make. He either has to side with the Elite, or Punk. Unless both parties are willing to talk it out. And knowing Punk, he won't be.

Again, if real, heads have to roll. Punk should be stripped of the title and suspended or fired. His actions during the media scrum were extremely unprofessional and shouldn't be tolerated. He embarrassed the owner of the company in front of the media.

But, I don't see any of that happening. If all the rumors are true, and the backstage is full of turmoil, TK is gonna try to fix it and not get rid of or probably not even punish anyone. That's the last thing he wants. Doing anything to Punk will create more negative press and make him look bad regardless of what the right move is. AEW would lose a ton of fans. Don't underestimate the number of Punk marks out there.

This is all just speculation and my opinion of course.

I'll be watching tomorrow for sure.

Let’s add a new wrinkle…it’s being reported that the Bucks kicked down Punk’s locker room door after he refused to let them in and that’s what started the melee.
