Given what others have already discovered about the ratings and sliders effects, I've modified everyone by lowering arm/leg strength across the board; most are in 40-60s. Some of the stronger characters physically (Big Show, Rusev) have higher ratings for those. I've also increased the durability of upper card characters and lowered it for others. I dropped stamina to about 60 for everyone with some variance; a few jobbers are significantly lower, some of the larger characters are a little lower, and some of the elite are in the 70s. Momentum was lowered for everyone, bringing that down to about 60. Lastly, I lowered grapple offense across the board dramatically, with the average also being in the 60's.

Sim results are fairly consistent, but I still wasn't getting the match duration I wanted on low-charge momentum.

    1. Bray d. Seth Rollins in 14:05, as previously mentioned.
    2. Daniel Bryan d. Roman Reigns in 9:15
    3. Brock squashed Santino in 2:04
    4. Dolph d. Big Show in 6:16 - good match showcasing size differential and speed dynamics. There's more to play with here on that front I think. Show dominated the match, but Dolph came back and won.
    5. Brock d. Cena in 9:10. Even-pacing for the most part with a couple good near-falls.
    6. Bray d. Seth in 8:53 - I re-did this one because I wondered what made it stand out so much in the first place, but it had much different results.

I played a few on my own too as underdog characters against overmatched foes, like Adrian Neville (downgraded to somewhere in the 50's) vs Kane (upper 70's) and, while competitive at times, lost every single match. I like that. That's what I'm looking for.

Then I set arm strength, leg strength, and momentum at 25-25-25 for both Edge and Jericho, who had been re-rated to be about 85 each. Results weren't any different:

    7. Edge d. Jericho 8:30 - lots of back and forth, but nothing spectacular.
    8. Edge d. Jericho 7:55 - frustratingly little difference

Lastly, I decided to modify the stamina cost slider. I turned that up a few notches (about 3/4th the bar) and I turned grappling offense for both Edge and Jericho down to 25. So that's four key attributes rated 25 for each character + the high stamina cost slider tweak... the results were epic. Edge beat Jericho in an 18:36 match that had no less than four 2.9999 counts. If I can reliably recreate that type of result, I might be onto something. We'll see. I'll also be testing its impact on superstars who have a significant differential in ratings.
Sounds good so far! Are you testing these with CPU vs CPU? Or is it CPU vs HUM?

Most have been CPU/CPU. I played a few CPU/HUM as the underdog and lost every time.
The Last of Us is the Citizen Kane of video-games. It is better than every game that has ever come before it, and is the new benchmark for all games to follow. It is nothing short of a work of art.

Can you share your spreadsheet? Or email me? And your slider settings?

I like what you found but how did the matches play out? How many finishers did each wrestler hit on average?

that really sucks, it makes damage recovery pretty useless in my opinion.

Really enjoying the whole attribute changes and sliders! Now I just wish I knew what to do with CAWS like Kevin Owens ha.
            NFL: New England
            NBA: Boston and Milwaukee
            MLB: Boston and Milwaukee
Also do enjoy me some UFC and Minnesota wrestling!

I'll still be adjusting ratings. I want to see what Alfie and Flip have done. See what adjustments need to be made from there.

I converted my Excel spreadsheet into a PDF because I couldn't get my file "zipped." If you want the formulas I used to figure out the overall ratings, let me know. I also adjusted my spread from the original 100-65 ratings to a 100-50 spread for Superstars and an original 65-55 ratings spread to a 75-50 spread for Divas. I feel this has achieved even better results. Any lower might be detrimental to playability.

I think it's important to remember that while all of this tweaking is in good fun, I doubt we will be able to achieve accurate results. We can probably get fairly close but this is an arcade/simulation style game not a pure simulation game. I liken it to the Need for Speed franchise vs Gran Turismo. I think we all have valid ideas, just my two cents.

Would like to see the formulas if possible, please. The overalls don't show what the other ratings are. But I do agree, we'll never get "true" SIM, but I would like to get to the point where I'm content with the game. And everyone's input here is very important. Looking at everyone's ideas and formulas just helps us get this game better.

As I mentioned earlier, I started with the default attributes for each Superstar and Diva. I then move each attribute up or down 1 through every attribute (1 turn) until the overall rating was achieved. I go through a whole turn through every attribute even if the overall rating was achieved midway through the turn. I don't really have a spreadsheet or anything breaking down every wrestler's attributes. It really was a simple process. I thought that the default attributes already represented each Superstar's main physical stature and abilities, it was just adjusting them down or up until the desired overall rating was reached. Some wrestlers attributes went up or down by only 1 whereas some, like Santino & Woods, went down by at least 25. Hope that makes sense.

Can you post what sliders you're using, unless I missed that part. I'm curious because i created a wrestler with all "1"'s for each rating. Each match was at least 3-4 mins. So I'm curious if adjusting the sliders is the key.

I still don't quite think you're understanding what I'm trying to explain. Each wrestler has 29 separate attributes: Arm Power, Leg Power, Head Durability, Body Durability, etc. let's look at John Cena's default ratings in just those 4 attributes: 85, 75, 85, 95, etc. Cena's default overall rating is 96. Each of those separate ratings have an effect on the overall. In my overall ratings derived from the weighted average PWI 500 the last two years, Cena has an overall rating of 100. What I did is go down each separate attribute, Arm Power, Leg Power, Head Durability, Body Durability, etc and increase each one by 1 all the way through the 29 separate attributes. When you do that the overall rating will have changed, most likely by 1. So after the 1st turn through all separate attributes, Cena will have a new overall rating of 97. Just repeat this process through all attributes until the overall rating of 100 is achieved. Going back to those first four attributes, most likely Cena will have new ratings of 89, 79, 89, 99, etc. (that may not be exact, I'm not on the game right now). And some attributes are capped based on the wrestlers weight class, so just keep going on down the line to the next attribute if one is capped. Likewise, Xavier Woods's default overall rating is 80 so you have to go down each attribute many times before you achieve a new overall rating of 50 (theoretically 30 times). Does this help?

By the way, I'm using your average sliders you posted in the spreadsheet.

I just dont see or understand why youd do this though? What Im getting from this is that you want the overall rating to match PWI rating and will adjust the attributes in harmony until it meets your desired result. That isnt fixing any of our concerns or doing anything at all other than changing the overall rating.

Just seems like an odd thing to do, but if its working for you and you enjoy them game thats what matters.
