The Atlanta Braves are in town and they are sending Johan Santana to the hill for tonight's game. The Braves hammer me early and often as I only go 4 2/3 innings and allow 5 runs and 12 hits in a very bad performance. Atlanta held us in the end and won the game 7-6.

My goal period ends and I make 4 out of 6. The manager wants me to keep up the good work on my goals. Here is my new set of goals for the next few weeks.

1. Increase arm accuracy over next 4 series
2. Increase bunting ability over next 4 series
3. Increase arm strength over next 4 series
4. Over next 4 series have a fielding pct of .997 or better

We are on the road as the Dodgers head to Pittsburgh to face the Pirates. I had one bad inning in which I gave up 3 runs and in the top of the 7th, I am pinched hit for with the Pirates still winning 3-0. They tacked on another run off our bullpen and the Dodgers lose, 4-0.

Back home again and the San Diego Padres are in town and their starter tonight is Dontrelle Willis.

This was a much better game for me as I only had allowed one run through the first 8 innings. I went in to start the 9th and got tatooed for 2 runs and left the inning without getting anyone out. Our offense struck early against Willis as we pounded him for 6 runs in the first three innings. Dodgers 7, San Diego 3.

On the road again and we are back on another eastern trip as we head to New York to face the Mets and Aaron Cook.

Our hitting attack pounded Cook for 3 runs in the 2nd and 3rd innings. Meanwhile, I blank the Mets for 8 innings before allowing a run in the bottom of the 9th to spoil my shutout bid. Dodgers 6, Mets 1

2. Increase 2-seam fastball control over next 6 series
3. Increase splitter control over next 6 series
4. Over next 6 series have an OPP batting average lower than .290
5. Over next 6 series allow 9 or less earned runs
6. Over next 6 series allow 18 hits or less
