    We are back home in Dodger Stadium as our archrivals, the Giants, are in town. I was getting ready for my start tomorrow then I am called upon to pitch in relief today in the top of the 10th with a runner on 2nd and 2 outs with a run in as the Giants had taken a 4-3 lead. I get the first hitter to ground out to end the inning but the Dodgers did not even the score in the last of the 10th and we lose, 4-3. We now fall to 4 games behind Arizona in the fight for the NLW.

      Our backs are to the wall now as I take the hill for my start against San Francisco. I start the game with 3 perfect innings before allowing a double to lead off the 4th. I allow a single run in the 6th inning but we scored 4 in the bottom of the inning. I scattered 6 hits in my 8 innings of work before being lifted for a pinch hitter in the last of the 8th. The Dodgers tacked on 2 more runs and I pick up my 12th win of the season, 6-1.

        It's the last road trip and series of the season as we were eliminated earlier in the week. We are in San Francisco to take on the rival Giants and in the 3rd inning, I give up a 2-run tater and I was pulled in the bottom of the 6th after giving up my 8th hit of the game. I also uncorked probably a league high 6th wild pitch of the season as we lost to the Giants, 5-1.

                      I think he retired after these guys.

                      Thanks. I continue to grow and improve as some of the attributes are nearing the ceiling. It might take a few more years for that. The 4-seamer is now hitting 97 on the gun. I ended up in the top 20 in four categories: Wins (12, tied for 13th), Innings (186.2, 19th), ERA (3.28, 12th) and WHIP (1.10, 1st). 2014 is my last year of the 2-year contract. I am now #3 in the starting pitcher depth chart so I will be the #3 pitcher in the rotation. At least I know that I will be in the rotation and not the bullpen. Hopefully I can get a chance to pitch in the postseason. That would be a first for me.
