We are back out on the road and are in Pittsburgh to face the Pirates. Both myself and the other start throw nothing but zeros on the scoreboard until one out in the bottom of the 8th when all heck breaks loose and I am pulled after allowing 5 runs in the inning on a bunch of hits. The Dodgers lost another game. This time 5-1 to the Bucs.

It's the end of the goal period. I reached 4 of the 6 goals and was given 6 goals for the next period, which lasts 4 series.

      1. Increase stamina in next 4 series
      2. Increase h/9 attribute in next 4 series
      3. Increase durability in next 4 series
      4. Over the next 4 series, allow 12 or less hits
      5. Over the next 4 series, have an opponent's batting average lower than .290
      6. Over the next 4 series, record 1 or more quality starts.

The Houston Astros invade Dodger Stadium and I am on the mound for the opening game of the series. The offense scores three times in the last of the 1st and that's all I need as I shut out the Astros on 8 hits before leaving in the bottom of the 8th for a pinch hitter. We win, 4-0 as the reliever finishes off the shutout.

In modern times, the manager always seems to pull the starter for the closer in a close game, which is why we rarely see any complete games anymore.

I am seeing more and more 3-1 and 3-2 counts but no walks. Like Greg Maddux, you can try to catch me with your eyes closed or blindfolded but I wouldn't do it. My 4-seam fastball is now clocking between 94-96 mph and continuing to climb as the years go on. It was still being clocked at 94 mph late in the game.

We are at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati as we start our road trip and face the Reds. I always seem to have that one brain fart inning and tonight it was in the second as I give up a bunch of hits and allow 3 runs that inning. Other than that, I scattered the rest of the hits in the other five innings and leave for a pinch hitter in the top of the 7th with the Reds winning, 3-0. The Reds went on to win the game, 3-0, as Roy Oswalt only allowed 5 hits during his shut out. At the plate, I flew out to right field my first time up then Oswalt plucked me the next time up.

We are in New York to take on the Mets as we complete our current road trip. Today is game two of the series in which the Dodgers won the first game last night. Both myself and the Mets pitcher are putting zeros on the scoreboard as we go deep into the game. I allowed 2 hits through the first six innings but then allow two hits with a sac fly, which produces the game's first run, in the 7th. I am pulled for a pinch hitter in the 8th inning and the score 1-0 Mets but we score 3 runs in the top of the 9th and win the game, 3-1. At the plate I ground out to the first baseman and strike out.

The end of the latest goal period comes and I have made 5 out of the 6. The only goal which I did not make was allowing 12 or less hits during the period. (What else is new)

                    Next set of goals:

                    1. Increase stamina over the next 6 series
                    2. Increase h/9 attribute over the next 6 series
                    3. Increase durability over the next 6 series
                    4. Over the next 6 series, allow 18 hits or less
                    5. Over the next 6 series, have an opponent's BA lower than .290
                    6. Over the next 6 series, record 2 or more quality starts

We are back at Dodger Stadium and the manager sends me to the mound after 3 days rest as I have been promoted from #5 SP to #4 SP. We take a 3-1 lead against Colorado after two innings but I allow a 2-run homer by Holliday in the top of the 3rd to tie the game. The game remains tied, 3-3, when I am pulled for a reliever in the top of the 7th with 1 out and 1 on. The Dodgers score 1 run in the bottom of the 7th then plate two more in the bottom of the 8th and win the game, 6-3. I scattered 8 hits while striking out 6 and was 1-2 at the plate with a single and a pop out.

These guys just won't take a walk although I have increased the cpu plate discipline to 15. The 1 walk, which was an intentional pass, combined with a control grade of "F" doesn't make much sense. I may end up bumping the plate discipline to the max if this keeps up.

The Dodgers are on a roll as we head to San Diego to take on the NLW leading Padres. I allow a 2-run blast by Kouzmanoff in the bottom of the 2nd but that is it as I scatter 4 hits through the first 7 innings. In the bottom of the 8th I allow a single to the leadoff batter and then I am pulled for a reliever with the score, 3-2 Dodgers. The bullpen "holds serve" as the Dodgers win, 3-2, for their 11th straight win and moves the team to 2nd place in the NLW, 6 games behind the Padres.

I just sat here and read all 33 pages. Great read. Heck of a job doing these writeups.
