    Back home, we are hosting the Fresno Grizzlies.

    I served a 2-run tater to #9 in the 5th inning, giving them a 3-0 lead, and I was pulled for a pinch hitter in the last half of the 6th. All in all, it was a pretty good game for me as I scattered only 6 hits during my 6 innings of work. Fresno continued on to win the game 3-0 as we were held to just three hits.

      We're back on the road and are in Tucson to take on the Sidewinders for my next start.

      I served up a pair of gopher balls in the 3rd inning, a 2-run shot by #28 and a solo shot by #16, as I gave up 4 runs that inning. We came back with five runs of our own in the top of the 5th, including a 2-run single by me to give us the lead. I went on to pitch another four innings before leaving after the 7th inning. We tacked on a run in the 6th and then two more in the 9th to win, 8-4.

      With the triple-A All-Star game approaching in the next two weeks, I found that I have garnered some votes and I ranked 13th in the voting for starting pitcher. (Amazing!)

          We are in Colorado Springs, Colorado as we continue our road trip and take on the Sky Sox. Incidentally, Colorado Springs is also the home of the campus of the USAFA (United States Air Force Academy).

          This game was a total disaster as I allow 12 hits and was yanked in the bottom of the fifth with a runner on. The reliever allowed my runner to score and I was straddled for 6 runs, 5 earned, for my 4 1/3 innings. The only good thing is that we went on to win the game in 11 innings, 9-7.

              I got called into the manager's office the next day and he gave me some news.

              With Brad Penny being activated, and my recent struggles, I was being sent back to Jacksonville in double-A. I thanked him for the opportunity to be with the team then cleaned out my locker and took the next flight from Colorado Springs towards Jacksonville, Florida.

                  Whenever I have a bunch of training points, after I get to the attribute goals I try to continue to increase the break of my pitches. They're really pretty good and will be continuing to increase them and then add more velocity. I also need to keep improving my H/9 attribute and my stamina.

                  (In real life, the Yankees' Joba Chamberlain is doing a lot of running in order to increase his stamina since he is now in the rotation, so I am doing it as well in the game.)

                      The running increases the stamina and allows you to go deeper into games without tiring as fast. By increasing the break you increase the chance of the batter swinging at pitches that might be borderline strikes and that can lead to more strikeouts. (Increasing the break of the pitches also increases your K/9 attribute.)

                        I'm back in double-A Jacksonville and although I am not fully rested, I take the mound for my first start since my return. We are hosting the West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx today.

                        I allow one hit and struck out one batter in the first inning and I am done for the night. I guess the manager didn't want to strain me in my first game back and a short time since my start with Las Vegas. Our bullpen imploded in the late innings and we lose, 10-3.

                          After getting a little extra rest with a day off in the schedule, I am back on the mound to face the Mississippi Braves on the road.

                          My start wasn't that great as I only last six innings and lefted with the score tied, 5-5. I allowed nine hits, including a solo blast in the 5th to #2, and struck out three. The game stayed tied and we ended up losing in 10 innings, 6-5. At the plate I went 0-for-1 with a sacrifice.

                            We are back home and hosting the Mobile Baybears as I take the mound.

                            The team stakes me to a 3-0 lead after the first inning and I go into the seventh inning before ending up being yanked and the score tied, 3-3. I only allow 4 hits during my 6 2/3 innings as three of the hits provided the tying runs. The Baybears scored their first run in the 6th inning on a double, a ground out and then a sac fly. This was my best start since coming back due to the fact that I had no-hit Mobile for the first five innings. The Suns got a walk off 3-run homer to win the game, 6-3.

                              On the road we go as we head to Chattanooga to face the Lookouts. I had one bad inning and lasted only six inning before leaving with the Suns losing, 4-1. I scattered 9 hits with a bulk of those in the third inning. At the plate I struck out in my only official at bat and had a sac bunt. We ended up losing the game by that score, 4-1.

I served up a 2-run blast to #29 in the sixth inning and was lifted for a pinch hitter in the bottom of the 7th with the Suns down by one, 4-3. We ended up tying the game but the bullpen imploded in the 10th and we lost, 8-5. I scattered ten hits and struck out six in my seven innings. I also had an RBI single and grounded out to second in my two at bats.
