    Re: Sunrise In San Diego

The following day, Sano was sitting in Washington and Giolito and Buxton where being hyped up beyond belief. Everyone was wondering what a steal Minnesota got with this compensation thing. However they had no idea what was to become of the pair...

3 days after the deal was approved, Joe Torre was sitting at his desk at midnight when he got an Email from an unknown sender. It read:

COMPENSATION FOR LOSS OF FRONT OFFICE PERSONNEL:

Padres get: Lucas Giolito, Byron Buxton.

Apparently the Padres and Twins had both agreed on it as both parties had signed.

Torre gazed at the email, curious. Then the phone rang....

The Unknown caller disconnected the call. Torre wiped the sweat from his face and printed off the proposal and stamped it with his approval and placed it into a Manila envelope to send to the commissioner to following day. This one would be hand delivered as well...

Hey, there's always MSUboy's dead one.....

        Great backstory. Sorry for being stupid, but I don't exactly follow the compensation. So, your execs are leaving for those two orgs, and you're getting Buxton/Giolito in return? Does it look like;

        SD gets; Buxton, Giolito
MIN gets; WAS execs, SD execs
        WAS gets; Sano, SD execs

        Is that right? lol

              The Commissioner's office
              Compensation- Part 3

Joe Torre approached the Bud's office and went in. Selig was meeting with two high profile Japanese Baseball Officials. Torre quietly made his way to Selig's side.

Selig ripped the paper out of Torre's hand and scribbled his signature down then crumpled the paper up and threw it at Torre who promptly left.

              Later that night....

              Torre called his blackmailer.

Yes most organizations have about 200-300 personnel in their Baseball Operations department. About 10 or 15 are what you usually hear about. The rest are like scouts, coordinators, analysts and coaches or you can even throw in clubhouse personnel because they typically work in that department. The global reach of a baseball team is severely underestimated!

Yeah, when I think about it, you're right. I guess I'm just thinking that the quality of the execs must've been high to get those guys, but when I think about that, it's fair, because 79 execs is one helluva lot, even if they aren't massively important.

Being at the All Star festivities was a blast! It was fun to watch the Futures Game and watch baseball's top prospects in person. The Homerun derby was extremely fun as well. I would have hopped that Mark Trumbo would face Prince in the final round but Joey Bats found it within.

The All Star Game itself was really astounding it was a dream come true for me. Seeing players in person that I had only watched on ESPN.

At the Homerun Derby when the fans booed Cano, that made me feel ashamed that I was from KC. I don't understand, just because he didn't pick our guy, you want to see him fail? And it was a darn shame when they booed his family walking to the restroom. What I couldn't believe was that Butler had the nerve to laugh....

My favorite memory has to be when in the Celebrity All Star Game where in the last inning, the fans chanted for Bo and when he took the bat and stepped in the box. The ovation he got was incredible.

Before we delve into Spring Training, I think we need to flashback to the Padres most important free agent signing of the past offseason.

are you doing like force trades on in this chise? im not criticizing or anything i was just wondering, because you got castro and some other trades that i did not see coming at all, so i just figured i would ask. also was the beltran one a trade or did you change teams on the roster set and start the chise like this and just waited till now to tell everyone?

Either way, its a great read, almost makes me want to start up a padres chise, but i cant stand NL baseball or their stadium, but this is still an awesome read.

                              Keep up the good work

                                Thanks!

NL baseball is a little tricky with all the small ball stuff and no DH plus the Pitcher's park doesn't help my mediocre offense so...

I actually do not have force trades on in my Royals Franchise nor 30 team control. I just proposed tons of combinations until I found ones that worked.

As for Beltran, I will just go ahead and add him to the Padres before I start my Franchise. When I was younger he was one of my favorite players when he played for the Royals and when I was watching him at the All Star stuff it reminded me how much I really liked him.

It just worked itself out. Carlos was a free agent last year so I did a flashback where the Padres signed him instead of the Cards.
