Nice opening game win. Looks like the young Bronocs will be a team to be reckon with this season.

I hope you stay at Boise for awhile. I am a huge fan and have done several legacies with them. Some as a closed legacy were I land there after year 2 another where I had to wait 10 years and a open one. I had a blast with all 3. I love Taco Bell Arena. The only thing I started to struggle with is the competition in the WAC. I started getting 4* and even a occasional 5* from Washington or Oregon to come to Boise and my team became to good for the conference.

The recruiting I leave to my "assistants" (AI) and I check out who they contacted. I then check to see the interest level of the contacted seniors and look at the grade ratings before sending out the scholorship offers. That allows my recruiting more level and on a more "realistic" scale.

I've already made one change to the starting lineup. Kabba, who was a PF before the AI moved him to SF this season, has been replaced at the SF position by Newsom, a SG, so that I can get more production out of that position. Newsom also gives me a second option on the floor so that Edwards doesn't have to try to carry the team offensively by himself. We'll see how it comes out against the nationally ranked Huskies.

I like that idea for recuiting. I might have to consider that with my new legacy I start when the rosters ever get done. For me I always just tried to stick to states that my team would normally recruit from. When I was in Boise I stuck to the Pacific Northwest or neighboring states like Montana,Wyoming,Utah,Nevada. I also had a rule to always sign the Mr BB from Idaho no matter if he was a 2* or up. I went after him.

At UNLV I generally don't go after anyone outside my recruiting area again unless they are 70% interest in my before I make my 1st contact. This past season I actually turned down a chance to probably land a 5* AA and signed the 3* Mr BB from Nevada.

Thanks for adding UMass to the list of teams being followed. Nice dominant opening game for us.

I like the recruiting ideas. Hurts that I'm at Florida because they are a national power when it comes to recruiting, but I definitely like the idea of going after the Mr. Basketball of the home state. I'm only planning on staying at Florida for one more season then plan on going to a smaller school to upgrade them, so the recruiting ideas will definitely be helpful when I get that far.

The "assistants" usually contact players in the normal recruiting states, like the two of you do (instate, neighboring states, conference states) but they also will find players out of the normal region as well.

With Boise State, the AI is finding players from Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Montana, California, Nevada, Wyoming, New Mexico, Hawaii, Louisiana (WAC school La. Tech is there) plus from nearby Canada. I'll have to see if it's also recruiting out of region.

From there, I weed out any players that have a "D" rating in any of the skill positions.

Also, the AI recruits based on your coach's recruiting priorities, which is in you coach's profile. For Coach Knight, the first priority is skills and the second is intelligence. Of course, you would also have to have the recruiting set to assisted in order to have this work.

I guess that I should also be looking for the Mr. BB in Idaho because I think that that is one of the "goals".

I got lucky this past recruiting season. I ended up signing two players that went to the 2k elite camp (Hinds & Esterkamp).

I just checked my roster and I have a couple of players from Washington, California, Nevada, Idaho and nearby Canada (Vancouver & Victoria). There is only one player that is outside of my normal recruiting area, Darell Dalgarn. He is a walkon from Virginia.

Tough loss to the Huskies. I grew up having friends go to Washington State in fact I was accepted to go there too but couldn't come up with the money, so I have always been a Huskie *****. I don't know what I am going to do this weekend if the Huskies beat the Cougs in the Apple cup.

So with all that said. I have had a bitter rivalary with the Huskies in my Boise State legacy. I didn't help that in year 3 there was a 5* AA Mr BB 6'5 PG from Boise that I finished 2nd behind Washington in the recruiting. That was like throwing gas on the fire.

Looking foward to all your updates.
