Looks like UNLV has the making of a pretty strong class if they can land some of the guys that have them #1.

Sorta surprised to see a 5* SG from Florida sign with Southern Illinois. Crazy when you see that happen.

No haven't forgotten. Work has been super busy for the past 10 days, but I get 5 days off starting tomorrow (NCAA Tournament and College Hoops will be filling my days)

Roller Coaster Season Continues as Towson Beats Lafayette

          Coach's Corner

"We just need to get more consistent. I'm not sure where we are going to get that consistency from, but that is what we need to do. I think that our play is improving, but we still haven't found our true identity.
The offense is all over the place and really doesn't get into a rhythm. We couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. We had plenty of good looks, but we couldn't make anything. Wheeler was 2/14 from everywhere and Benbow was just 2/10 from 3-point range.
I am thinking we are going to make some changes with the lineup.
We also couldn't stop their guards once again. I think they combined for about 34 points or so. Our defense needs to improve since that is what this is all based on.
It is just frustrating seeing the shots not falling and not being able to guard."

Slide Continues as Lafayette Loses to Mount St. Mary's

            Coach's Corner

"Definitely in a shooting slump and even the home crowd couldn't save us tonight. I appreciate all the fans coming out once again, but I am disappointed that we couldn't give them a better show.
Wheeler is still struggling from the field again after he broke out for nearly 40. I think a change of scenery is necessary to get a few guys going. I thought Mower was very good and gave us another option on offense. We just need to get more consistent and I hope that comes before we get into conference play.
We have to figure out a defense that can stop the guards from destroying us. Once again a point guard really gave us fits and I need to figure out why this is happening. We fall below .500 and we need to get this turned around ASAP.
Difficult contests coming up and it is going to be hard to work on things, but we are going to have to try something."

What do you use to record your games? I have a dazzle but it doesn't look nearly this good when I upload it to Youtube.

Sorry for the delay. I am about to post this evening. I have been super busy with work and following Butler in the NCAA Tournament. Tough ending to another great season, but still happy we got to the Final again. Anyways, look for updates tonight as I just finished the creation of the 4 videos for the games I've played.

Losing Streak Continues As Leopards fall to Green Bay

                        Coach's Corner

"We were absolutely crushed on the glass. They had so many offensive rebounds that I had to stop yelling because I would have gone horse in the first half. Something that we need to clean up heading into a big game for us next week.
I thought we really defended the perimeter poorly as well. Perine had too many open looks and we were once again lit up by a perimeter player.
Offense struggled and our defense couldn't makes tops either. Bad recipe. Bad streak going into Pitt, but we will regroup and try to improve."

Has Lafayette Quit on Coach Mengel?

                          Coach's Corner

"Words cannot even begin to describe the frustration that I am feeling right now. I am not frustrated at the players themselves, but the execution and the lack of teaching by myself are the most frustrating things. I really need to get back to basics with this team. There is no place to go but up and I think that we can get there, but we have to put forth some effort.
I'm not sure, but I think Cole scored all of his points in the 2nd half. We really collapsed on him well in the 1st half, but after that, he was lights out.
Speaking of offense, I'm not sure where we are going to find our offense. It has just disappeared and has been non-existant. We need guys to step up. I think I am going to tweak some stuff before next game at Pitt."

Loving this, the video aspect is great. It looks like Benbow is your main threat in close and Wheeler can throw it down from way downtown. Its nice being able to see that kind of stuff. Good luck turning the team around after a couple tough losses.

Yeah, I can score with my big center as well, but Benbow is definitely the best slasher/scorer I have. Also Wheeler's range is deeeep. The videos really add to the reading being able to know what the games are like and how they play. I think it really adds something big. Thanks for following and I hope I can turn it around in conference play.

                                Coach's Corner

"Wow. I wish we could play like that every game. We really took it to them in every aspect of the game. We stayed the course even when we got down early on in the game, but we held on. I think we made so many shots that it really shocked me. Clutch shots all over the place from everyone. Great performance from our guys today.
Wheeler looked more comfortable in his role in the starting lineup today. I thought our guys were got going defensively. That pushed our offense over the top.
We controlled the pace. We only had 38 shots in the game, but I thought they were all really good shots. Pittsburgh likes to play half-court offense as well and I thought even though it was their type of a game too, we controlled everything about the pace of play.
Gibbs did hurt us a little but I thought overall we had a great game covering him. McGhee didn't hurt us at all and Kreuser did a great job on him. He outplayed one of the best big men in the country.
Hopefully we can ride the momentum of this game into the rest of the season."
