Miraculous Win Puts Leopards in 2nd Round of Patriot League Tournament
Coach's Corner
"Great, great defensive plays at the end of that game and then 2 big shots. First we had Wheeler pick up the steal off the double team with just over 15 seconds left. He dribbles to the NBA 3-point line and drills the 3-pointer to cut it to 1 point. I thought he should have taken it for the layup, but he felt like he could nail the jumper. He was lucky that the trailing defender didn't block that shot. I was saying 'NOOOOO', then he made it. It turned out ok. He had missed all 8 of his 3-point attempts prior to that shot, so I was a little nervous.
Then you had Benbow with the heads up play. He was going to foul in the backcourt with just under 10 seconds left, but the inbounding player didn't see him and he snuck in for the steal and quick lay-in to give us the lead.
Our final defensive possession was crucial. Kreuser was able to get over there and alter the shot. Big miss and we won. Cannot believe it, but we live to play another day this season and it is great to be playing in March.
Wilman played great for Bucknell. He had 31, but he was the only one that really got going. Fitzpatrick was held in check and he missed that last shot, which was big. Their guards were also held in check.
Off to the next round. Excited to see who we play."

Extremely Efficient Shooting Puts Lafayette in Patriot League Final
Coach's Corner
"Another close game. I thought we really shot the ball after good choices all game long. Interesting that we didn't get much production from our guards today. Mower and Wheeler both struggled a little bit from the floor, but we then decided to go inside.
Benbow, Kreuser, and Giese had 43 of the 56 points. They also only missed 4 shots combined and had 16 rebounds as well. We did a good job of shutting down Gyawu by getting him in foul trouble. He did finish with 12 points, but wasn't as aggressive on offense as he could be.
After such and up and down season it now all comes down to just one game. Very difficult to believe that we have come all this way and are now in the Patriot League Tournament Final. Luckily we don't play in the Ivy League where there is no tournament and we had a chance to improve as the season went along. We are now getting hot at the right time and it is paying off for us. We will also get some nice exposure with the game on ESPN as well."

Coach's Corner
"An amazing feeling to walk up onto this podium as the Patriot League Tournament Champions. Wow, what a game. We couldn't miss. Everything we shot looked like it was going to go in and almost all of them did. Valdomeanu is a beast on the inside. It was really difficult to continually game plan for him. In our first matchup we tried to double and force Fisher to beat us. In the next matchup that doubling didn't work and everyone was on fire from the outside. Now we just played him straight up today. Good job by Kreuser on the defensive end and especially on the glass.
Mower, Wheeler, Benbow, and Kreuser were all in double figures and each one of them had a great game. Johnson did a great job facilitating them.
Now we get to go to the Big Dance! I didn't think we would get there with the way my first year was going and it is definitely a rewarding feeling. You have to think that we will be playing in the opening round game. Our record has to be one of the worst to get into the field in history. Hopefully we can continue this hot streak and get our shot at some more history."

Coach's Corner
"After having the performance we had in the Patriot League Final against American, I thought we would shoot better, but I think the stage go the best of us. It was just a little bit too big of a stage and we got a little nervous. Our team was an experienced bunch, but we just didn't have experience on this kind of stage. We aren't a team that scores 45 points. That isn't the type of team that we are. However, that was the team we were today and we are headed home.
Wheeler, Mower, and Benbow just couldn't get the perimeter going. Kreuser got in foul trouble and I didn't want to take him out because he was our best option to stay in the game. It all went downhill in the 2nd half. I thought we could make a run, but we never did.
Well what can you say. It really wasn't our day. It was fun while it lasted. I can't believe this is the last time that I will be in the locker room with guys like Benbow and Wheeler. Those senior are going to be remembered for how they battled to get us to the NCAA Tournament. They really are going to set the foundation for what we are going to do with this program in the future."
