    Trade talks heat up
    __________________________________________________

    Ramon Sessions | Cavaliers
    __________________________________________________

Rumor has it that there are a number of teams courting new Cavaliers GM Ron Arens for trades involving backup point guard Ramon Sessions. With incumbent starter Mo Williams playing fairly well, Sessions has seen limited court time, however he has shown signs of great play-making ability on offense. From what we hear, the Knicks and Pistons have been two teams pursuing him the hardest.

    Pistons reportedly shopping White
    __________________________________________________

    Terrico White | Pistons
    __________________________________________________

Regarded as a rough project player with great athletic ability, White has the misfortune of being on a team loaded with veterans at his position. As such, his opportunity to develop on the court is capped to either less than 10 minutes per game or a demotion to the NBADL. The Pacers were reportedly dangling F Tyler Hansbrough initially, but many believe those talks have died after their recent acquisition of Donte Greene. The Lakers had also been tied to rumors regarding White but have since dismissed them.

Hill could be on the move
    __________________________________________________

    Jordan Hill | Rockets
    __________________________________________________

A week after Brad Miller trade rumors began to surface in Houston, there are also murmurs that they might be looking to move another big man. In surprising news, young power forward Jordan Hill has been mentioned in rumors around the league. Many believe this is just to gauge interest and see what they can get in return, but according to Spurs GM RC Buford they're "asking too much."

Chauncey: 'Next season out of my hands'
    __________________________________________________

    Chauncey Billups | Nuggets
    __________________________________________________

Denver's veteran point guard and a fan favorite, Chauncey Billups hopes to return to the Nuggets for the 2011-12 season. Unfortunately for him, that decision lies solely in the hands of the team's front office and whether or not they choose to exercise his team option. Billups told reporters, "they haven't talked to me about it at all." Many around the league believe that their decision hinges on whether or not they convince star Carmelo Anthony to stay as well. If he walks, they may decline to keep Billups in lieu of starting a youth movement.

    Wolves looking to trade Telfair?
    __________________________________________________

    Sebastian Telfair | Timberwolves
    __________________________________________________

With Luke Ridnour and Johnny Flynn already consuming a bulk of the playing time at the point guard position, there's very little room for Telfair in the Minnesota backcourt. They've been in contact with a number of teams and have reportedly struck up talks with the Knicks and Warriors. The Knicks deal is rumored to involve Bill Walker but the teams have still yet to come to an agreement. Golden State GM Larry Riley also thinks Telfair would be a solid veteran option to backup Steph Curry.

    Williams wouldn't mind trade
    __________________________________________________

    Marvin Williams | Hawks
    __________________________________________________

After being taken with the 2nd pick in the 2005 draft, Williams has largely failed to live up to his potential since entering the NBA. After spending most of his first 5 seasons as a 4th option, it's been rumored that he's interested in a fresh start somewhere else. Surprisingly, the Hawks have been willing to listen and, according to a source close to the situation, they have been drawing a lot of interest. It will be interesting to see if any team offers him a new start and if it has a similar effect to Michael Beasley's move to Minnesota.

    Odom trying to remain upbeat
    __________________________________________________

    Lamar Odom | Lakers
    __________________________________________________

Due to his size and flexibility of being able to play both small and power forward, players like Odom have always been a rare commodity in the NBA. Over the years there were always rumors swirling about other teams having interest in the 2-time NBA champion but the Lakers never appeared eager (or willing) to trade him. That appears to be the same this year, but that doesn't stop the rumors from materializing, the latest of which pegs Mike Conley as the Lakers' point guard of the future. Conley would be a nice asset for Los Angeles to have as Derek Fisher appears close to retirement, but at the expense of their X-factor? Not so sure about that.

Chandler: 'Still time for new deal'
    __________________________________________________

    Wilson Chandler | Knicks
    __________________________________________________

New York brass have apparently been reaching out to the young swingman in order to get a new contract in place, however Chandler appears content with waiting it out and testing the free agent waters. This could very well be a result of the ongoing rumors that Carmelo Anthony could be coming to New York either this season or next summer. If the Knicks are able to court Anthony without losing Chandler, his playing time and potential will be drastically stifled. In that scenario, we expect he'd want to seek a bigger role with another team instead of taking a back seat.

Mills wants to stay in Portland
    __________________________________________________

    Patrick Mills | Trailblazers
    __________________________________________________

Portland has supposedly been baiting backup point guard Patrick Mills to teams around the league, but unfortunately he doesn't appear to be garnering much interest. The only rumor that appears to hold any water so far has him going to Boston for a 2012 second round pick. Mills, however, prefers stay in Portland. "I have a home here, I've really come to like this place," says the Australia native. Considering the minimal interest in him so far, he just may be granted that wish.

    Trade rumors swirling in Cleveland
    __________________________________________________

    J.J. Hickson | Cavaliers
    __________________________________________________

After a somewhat disappointing first two seasons in the league, Cleveland had appeared willing to move their 2008 first rounder around the deadline last season. However, he has gotten off to an impressive start as a factor coming off the bench to start 2010 so to hear his name mentioned in rumors right now is a bit surprising. The Raptors are supposedly in hot pursuit and so far have offered Leandro Barbosa, although we expect it will take a lot more than that for the Cavaliers to part with the young power forward.

Re: Cavalier Chronicle: Life After LeBron

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- What better way to dismiss a trade rumor than to have the general manager of the team clear the air in front of the press? The Cavaliers moved to 5-11 with Saturday's loss, and perhaps began what many believe to be their dramatic fall from grace. Having lost LeBron James, many assumed it would soon kick off a massive rebuilding period. However, trading away two young talents, as last weeks rumors indicate Cleveland is doing, doesn't quite seem like the best way to go about doing so.

First-year general manager Ron Arens agreed when addressing the media on Sunday. "I don't know where these rumors came from, why anybody believed them, and why any news outlet felt they were credible enough to publish," declared Arens. "They are absolutely false."

J.J. Hickson, who has been rumored to be en route to Toronto for a package including Leandro Barbosa, has started the season at a torrential pace coming off the bench and is finally showing the skills that prompted Cleveland to draft him with their first pick in 2008. It appears that it is only a matter of time before he forces his way into the starting line-up and potentially pushes a veteran out the door.

The other rumors in circulation have backup point guard Ramon Sessions on the move, with New York and Detroit as possible destinations. Sessions, who has displayed tremendous playmaking ability on occasion during his tenure in the league, has had several double-digit assist performances already this season while relieving Mo Williams. General managers around the league believe the Cavaliers are far more likely to trade the veteran Williams than Sessions.

If Cleveland continues to lose as the season progresses, we should undoubtedly see a number of trades made; just don't expect for them to include Hickson and Sessions at this point.

Bad luck, but it's still early. Hickson is a great player to keep around.

Just wondering where you get the pics from your games from? The 2k11 site that you upload to? Your own camera?

I'm trying to make my Bulls franchise more compelling, the plain text and real-life pics aren't totally doing it for me lol.

Yeah i get them from either going into a replay and positioning the view how I want to upload to the 2k site or by uploading the press book at the end, although that takes a while

Re: Cavalier Chronicle: Life After LeBron

CLEVELAND (AP) -- He tuned out the boos. He smiled at the derisive chants. He embraced all the negativity Cleveland could muster.

LeBron James wasn't fazed by anything.

He brought his talents back home and reminded everyone - even the haters - why he's missed.

Returning as a villain to his native state and the city he scorned this summer, James scored 21 points - despite leaving with 2:26 left in the third quarter - to lead the Miami Heat to a 122-111 win on Thursday night, turning his hostile homecoming into another embarrassing moment for the Cavaliers.

Dwyane Wade produced a triple-double in Thursday's Miami victory.

Cleveland fans had been looking forward to this game ever since the July 8th "Decision" was made and came to Quicken Loans Arena prepared on Thursday. Fans booed every time James touched the ball and they were armed with signs that read "Akron Hates You Too," "Merry Quitness," and "Remember Game 5," a reference to his final home game with the Cavs, when he went just 3 of 14 and scored 15 in a lopsided loss to Boston in last season's Eastern Conference semifinals.

Unfortunately, the king's return to his former castle would be cut short, as he was forced to leave the game in the third quarter with a wrist injury after being fouled by Anderson Varejao. This came just 8 minutes after Mike Miller left the game with a wrist injury on a similar play.

Miami hardly needed James, as Dwyane Wade had an impressive performance himself, earning the fourth triple-double of his career. For Cleveland, Mo Williams set out to show that the Cavaliers didn't need James and put up 32 points of his own, but unfortunately the team fell short. Cleveland's leading scorer so far this season, Antawn Jamison had a disappointing night going 1-for-10 from the field to muster only 6 points.

The loss to Miami came two days after a 9-point loss to Boston and was followed by a narrow victory against Minnesota, pushing their record to 6-13 to start the season. The Cavs have a busy week ahead of them, as they play four games next week and hope to start turning their season around.

                  2010-11 Power Rankings: November
                  RK (LM)TEAMRECCOMMENT
MIA1 (-)Heat16-2I think the only surprise here is just how fast this Miami team has gelled together. Could spell a long season for the rest of the Eastern Conference.
BOS2 (-)Celtics12-5Despite an early injury to Rajon Rondo, the veteran Celtics have gotten the 2010-11 season off to another good start.
ORL3 (-)Magic13-5It should be interesting to see how well newcomer Gilbert Arenas blends with this Orlando squad throughout the season; so far so good.
SA4 (-)Spurs12-5This has all the makings of yet another good season from San Antonio. If they can stay healthy they'll be right in the mix like usual.
OKC5 (-)Thunder12-6After an impressive showing against the Lakers in the playoffs, the Thunder have started this season on the right foot to show they are for real.
LAL6 (-)Lakers13-5Business as usual for the defending champs, they've faced a couple tough losses so far but don't expect that to happen come April.
MIL7 (-)Bucks10-7Perhaps a surprise contender out east, the Bucks have gotten off to a hot start both Salmons and Maggette missing action early. Can they keep it up, though?
CHA8 (-)Bobcats10-7There are already grumblings around Charlotte that if this team falls off, Wallace, Jackson, and Thomas might find new homes. For now, they're safe.
DAL9 (-)Mavericks9-8A rough start for the Mavericks, who many had pegged as potentially knocking off the Lakers in pre-season predictions. However, the season is young and Dirk is off to a great start.
NO10 (-)Hornets8-9Chris Paul and the Hornets have dropped 4 of their last 6 but hoped to get things back on track soon before they risk falling into the lottery in the deep west.
PHX11 (-)Suns8-9Can the Amare-less Suns still manage to fight their way to the playoffs? How long before Gortat starts at center? Questions, questions...
IND12 (-)Pacers9-7The Pacers hope newly acquired Donte Greene will be the bench spark they've been lacking when Granger comes off the floor.
GS13 (-)Warriors9-9David Lee has gotten his first season as a Warrior off to a strong start, but they're still getting beat in the middle as Biedrins has been inconsistent.
ATL14 (-)Hawks9-9This Hawks team is still as strong as they were a year ago, they just need to shake off the rust of a new season. Expect them to be among the best in the East by season's end.
”UTA"15 (-)Jazz10-9After getting off to a poor start the Jazz have really put it together winning their last 5 in a row. Al Jefferson is proving to be an ample replacement for Boozer.
SAC16 (-)Kings8-8The Kings favorable ranking is a testament to how many top teams have gotten off to slow starts, but perhaps Evans can make them a surprise contender in his sophomore campaign.
DEN17 (-)Nuggets9-7Perhaps the team has been distracted by the media circus surrounding Carmelo's impending free agency and/or trade, but regardless Sunday's victory over the Suns ends their short losing streak.
HOU18 (-)Rockets9-8With Yao Ming healthy the Rockets, who surged late last year, must now get re-acclimated with the 7'6" center in the middle.
WAS19 (-)Wizards8-8John Wall has stepped in seamlessly and become the early favorite for Rookie of the Year, but how many games will he help the Wizards win?
CHI20 (-)Bulls7-8With Joakim Noah and Luol Deng already missing multiple weeks with injuries, the Bulls have an uphill battle ahead of them if they're going to be contenders as expected.
PHI21 (-)76ers7-11Despite the efforts of the talented Andre Iguodala, the 76ers are having trouble stringing wins together and Evan Turner's slow start and early injury doesn't help matters.
NY22 (-)Knicks8-12The addition of Amare Stoudemire hasn't had quite the impact on the win column that Knicks fans and NBA analysts had thought it would, but perhaps they deserve a grace period before undergoing scrutiny.
MIN23 (-)Timberwolves7-10The Timberwolves are one of the most talented young teams in the league, but an unfortunate result of that is they lack veteran leadership.
POR24 (-)Trailblazers7-10It remains to be seen how long the knees of Brandon Roy and Greg Oden will hold up, but the Trailblazers hopes of contending weigh heavily on them.
LAC25 (-)Clippers6-12Blake Griffin has finally begun his highly anticipated NBA career and has not disappointed. Unfortunately, his team has.
MEM26 (-)Grizzlies5-13They need to get Rudy Gay back from a broken hand as soon as possible if they're going to compete, but many fear the damage has already been done.
NJ27 (-)Nets8-10The new look Nets have been very inconsistent to start the season, but winning their last two Portland and New York is certainly a positive sign.
CLE28 (-)Cavaliers5-12Analysts around the league assume it's only a matter of time before the team's youth movement begins. Will they find their next LeBron in the 2011 draft?
DET29 (-)Pistons3-14The Pistons have won only one game in the last two weeks, this is going to be a long season for Detroit... At least T-Mac won't have to worry about another first-round playoff exit.
TOR30 (-)Raptors3-15Toronto's head coaching situation is a joke right now, but at least they've got a whole season to try out as many candidates as they want, as it seems like they might be doing.

                    Timberwolves deal for Mo Williams
                    __________________________________________________

                    ESPN.com news services

The Minnesota Timberwolves and Cleveland Cavaliers finalized a deal that will send point guard Mo Williams and guard Christian Eyenga to Minnesota in exchange for a 2011 first round draft pick and cash considerations.

                    Eyenga

                    Williams
The move gives the young Timberwolves teama veteran presence at the point guard position and a player they feel could eventually become their sixth man, but at the cost of a potential lottery pick in next year's draft.

"This is a trade that benefits both teams as it helps us build for the future and gives the Timberwolves a better shot at winning right now," Cavaliers GM Ron Arens said in a statement Friday. "Mo is a real leader and we're sorry to see him go, but we have our eyes on some prospects in the 2011 draft and felt this move would benefit us years down the line."

Somewhat surprising about the deal is that Minnesota opted not to have the first-rounder lottery protected. "While there are some talented prospects in this upcoming draft, there's really nobody who stands out to us as a perfect fit for our team," Timberwolves president of basketball operations David Kahn said. "Furthermore, we are hopeful the additions of Williams and Eyenga get us out of the lottery as well."

Williams is expected to step in as the team's starting point guard as soon as he gets acclimated with the offense, as young point guard Jonny Flynn has gotten off to a disappointing start this season. Eyenga has not played yet this season but Minnesota is hopeful he will soon work his way into their rotation. For Cleveland, Ramon Sessions becomes the new starter at point guard.

December 11, 2010 -- A day after trading Mo Williams to Minnesota, the Cavaliers announce the signing of journey man Jannero Pargo to a one year, $880,000 deal. Pargo is expected to compete with Daniel Gibson for minutes backing up Ramon Sessions

In 379 regular season contests in the NBA, Pargo has averaged 6.6 ppg, 2.0 apg and 1.5 rpg in 15.7 mpg. A .349 career shooter from behind the arc, he also owns career shooting averages of .388 from the field and .861 from the line. He has played in 35 playoff games, and posted postseason averages of 6.2 ppg, 1.6 apg, 1.4 rpg, 14.2 mpg, .370 from the field, .371 from behind the arc and .711 from the line.

Despite the fact that Antawn Jamison averaged 31.3 points, the Cavaliers managed to drop three of their four games this week. Facing the Rockets in the first game since the Mo Williams trade, Cleveland took Houston to overtime in a game that saw 276 combined points. Jamison led all scorers with 35, including an impressive 9-for-12 performance from beyond the 3-point line. Veteran guard Anthony Parker also contributed a season-high 25 points in the loss.

Anthony Parker propelled Cleveland to a 40-point 4th quarter to force OT.
Making their first starts of the season were J.J. Hickson and Ramon Sessions. Hickson added a double-double with 29 points and 11 rebounds, while Sessions added 19 points and 19 assists of his own. However, Sessions did commit a costly 12 turnovers as the turned the ball over 29 times as a whole. "We were very impressed with the way Hickson performed. He has been a great force off the bench all season but transitioned into the starting lineup seamlessly," head coach Byron Scott said. "Sessions also played well; we're hopeful that his turnovers will drop as he gets used to running the offense full-time."

With Hickson's move to the starting five, Alonzo Gee looks to be the new front-runner as sixth man, although he'll likely share the role with Joey Graham as long as he comes off the bench. Gee hit three 3-pointers in Saturday's game and has shown glimmers of potential so far this season, although he suffers from inconsistency at this point.

The trade of Williams has people around the organization wondering who might be on their way out the door next. Jamison's name has been thrown around in trade rumors throughout the season so far, including a potential deal to the Rockets, although at this point that looks to be purely speculation. A player like Jamison could provide a real boost for Houston, who is currently looking to be a fringe playoff contender although there have been no reports of any interest in a deal yet.

Prior to this year, Brooks looked to be the lone future of the point guard position for the Rockets. However, with the emergence of Kyle Lowry, one might wonder if Brooks will seek a team with less of a time-share when his contract expires at the end of this year. Word has it that Brooks is questioning Houston's ability to contend for a title this year and beyond. Perhaps it would be in their best interests to make a big trade this season to convince him to stay.

In somewhat surprising news, there have been rumors circulating that the Kings might not exercise the team option for the reigning Rookie of the Year after this season. The reasoning behind these seemingly absurd claims is that Sacramento fears Evans could command a salary higher than they are willing to pay in the near future, so they could seek to trade him while his value is high and a team could have him on his rookie contract still. An unnamed source within the Kings organization said these allegations are "absolutely false" and that no decisions on contracts have been made to this point.

In today's "why is this news" segment, the Hornets have announced that they are willing to part ways with the backup center if the price is right. Andersen, who has never started a game in his career, was thought to be headed to the Bulls after the injury to Joakim Noah, but that rumor has since been dismissed as false. The trade talk has gotten to Andersen, though. "I just want a resolution," he told reporters after Friday's game.

The undrafted rookie point guard, currently third on the point guard-heavy Rockets' depth chart, has been tied to some trade talks as of late. Two teams in particular have been mentioned; Denver and Minnesota. Even though the Timberwolves just made a move for veteran Mo Williams, sources believe they could still make a bid for Smith as they like his potential. Denver, on the other hand, could be preparing to trade Chauncey Billups, so they could certainly use Smith's services as a backup to Ty Lawson.

Just when it was looking like Randolph would get a fresh start in New York after being coined a bust in Golden State, the young big man is once again the topic of trade conversation. The Hornets are one team already expressing interest as they are concerned David West could opt out at season's end. In the coming weeks, you can bet several teams will make offers for Randolph and whoever he's traded to (if it happens) could be scoring a real diamond in the rough.

                          2011 PREVIEW
                          Part 1: 26-30

Weak 2011 class could still give contenders some key role players

In the first installment of our 14-week NBA draft preview, we take a look at those currently projected to go with the last 5 picks in the first round. The one name that stands out to a lot of scouts from this group is point guard out of Kansas State Bryce Jones.

Kansas State PG Bryce Jones is one of the top 5 point guards in the draft
Jones has gotten the Wildcats off to a hot start in the Big 12 and stands to improves his draft value immensely if they can keep winning. So far in his college career, Jones is averaging 15.6 points, 5.7 assists, and 2.3 steals per game. While he still lacks the intangibles of an elite point guard prospect, his playmaking ability, defense, and ability to shoot from long-range make him an intriguing and quietly promising young player.

While scouts don't envision Jones ever reaching the stratosphere occupied by Chris Paul, Deron Williams and company, there's nothing stopping him from becoming a serviceable starter sometime in the future, or at very worst a solid bench contributor.

The rest of the 26-30 range contains a couple low-risk/high-reward players in Alfred Robinson, the undersized shooting guard out of Indiana State, and Miami power forward Vince Horsley. Robinson is viewed as one of the best scorers in the draft class, but his lack of size and propensity to make mistakes with the ball will hinder his draft position. Whatever team drafts him could be potentially taking a poor-man's Allen Iverson (sans the attitude), or they could have just another run-of-the-mill combo guard. Horsley reminds many of Tyler Hansbrough due to his hustle on every play. Some scouts are uncertain about his ability to be an impact player at the next level but at the very least he should become one of those "true grit" players that gives a team a spark off the bench and corrals the tough rebounds and loose balls.

Being undersized for a shooting guard and too poor of a passer to run point are two factors pushing this talented scorer to the bottom of the first.

The hard-nosed power forward faces questions about being able to match up well against NBA bigs, but one thing is for certain; he'll never quit.

**Thought I should note, the class was auto-generated, I might have made some changes to take down overalls at the beginning of the franchise but I can't recall at the moment. I started this before I realized that real life draft classes were available, but I kind of like how this gives me an opportunity to create my own story lines for the draft/players.

After Saturday's overtime loss to the Knicks extended Cleveland's losing streak to six games, head coach Byron Scott was facing criticism from reporters. Sure, everybody knew there wouldn't be an overnight recovery after losing their star player, but with the addition of the 2007-09 NBA Coach of the Year people at least hoped the transition would be more successful than this.

One reporter in particular suggested that Cleveland's high turnover rate was a direct reflection of a poor coaching job. Scott, visibly irritated by the question, said, "that's certainly not out of the question. This team is better than it has been playing, we've got some talented players but we're still figuring how best to get them to work together. We lack cohesion." Nonetheless, with the losses coming at a more frequent pace, it looks like it is only a matter of time before GM Ron Arens starts pulling the trigger on more trades.

On a positive note, Ramon Sessions appears to be getting settled into the starting point guard role. After committing 12 turnovers in his first start last week, Sessions has turned the ball over 12 times in the last four games combined. J.J. Hickson got off to a rough start at the beginning of the week but was able to rebound nicely with back-to-back double-doubles to close the week out. The team is excited about the progress Hickson has made so far this season and he is certainly carving out a spot in the team's future.

The Cavaliers have only two games next week leading up to Christmas, but unfortunately they are both against tough opponents; at home against Utah and on the road against the Hawks. Perhaps the team can pull off an upset and end the losing streak.

Philadelphia already talking trades involving this summer's second overall pick? Sounds unlikely I know but rumor has it they are at the very least listening to offers. Some names thrown around in various discussions around the league include Detroit's Will Bynum and Golden State's Monta Ellis. Something tells me the 76ers won't be biting on either of those offers, though. In fact, I'd wager they don't move Turner at all.

Thornton rumored to be on the block

                              Al Thornton | Wizards

Thornton hasn't been with the Wizards for a full season yet, but according to sources close to Washington he could already be on his way out. The Wizards are said to be "listening to offers" for the streaky small forward and one team already linked to rumors has been the Celtics. Thornton's productivity has waned since his solid season in the '08-'09 campaign, but he could definitely still provide a boost off the bench for a contender this season.

Williams gone if price is right

                              Louis Williams | 76ers

The 76ers must be in a trading mood, as they are also rumored to be shopping their young combo guard. With Jrue Holiday emerging as a solid young point guard, Williams becomes somewhat expendable. We're hearing the Clippers' offer of Randy Foye was rejected by Philadelphia, and that Boston could make a play for him as well. It remains unclear what the 76ers are expecting in return but many have speculated they'd be looking for picks or a young big.

                              Jones on the block

                              Dominique Jones | Mavericks

The backcourt in Dallas is one of the most crowded in the league. Hardly seeing the court, Jones has asked the Mavericks front office to seek out a trade or release him outright. According to our sources, the Mavericks have contacted several teams to discuss potential moves. One rumor that's been buzzing is that the Pistons are contemplating a Ben Wallace-for-Jones trade that's currently on the table. The Kings were initially thought to be interested as well but now we're hearing that's no longer the case.
