                  and Montana 0-5...

dunno whats up with Northern Colorado... really thought I would do good with them because of Beitzel, Kaba, Lloyd and Kingman... all great shooters man

Tennessee St. was my pick and they are .500... another disappointing start

Southern Utah 4-3... one decent win and 2 blowout losses

Bucknell WOW... when I first looked at the schedule I was thinking 2-3 wins in the first 10 games would be awesome... right now im 8-0 (4-0 against ranked teams)

Stevenett played only nineteen minutes but scored 12 points

CEDAR CITY, Utah -- Sophomore forward Jackson Stevenett's 12 points led Southern Utah University to a 64-39 victory over visiting University of Texas-Pan American Tuesday evening.

The Thunderbirds also finished with 46 rebounds, led by sophomore center Matt Hodgson who grabbed eight of them.

"I thought it was a great effort by a number of players tonight and it was good team win for us," commented head coach Roger Reid who saw 11 of his players register a point. "I really liked how we used our defense to get things going for us, forcing some turnovers and scoring inside the paint was very nice to see."

Ramell Taylor added 10 points and Ray Jones Jr. finished with 7. Matt Hodgson and Matt Massey scored 8 points each. Kyle Davis came off the bench to grab 6 rebounds and block one shot.

The Thunderbirds overcame a sluggish opening minutes by using a 20-4 run to pull away from the Broncs. The game was tied at 8-8 in the opening minutes before Stevenett sparked the big run with a couple layups, going on to finish the half with 10 points.

The Thunderbirds quickly pulled away to start the second half as Taylor hit a jumper and Jones Jr. followed that with a long three from the left wing to give SUU a 39-16 lead.

Back-to-back layups by Matt Massey and Jake Nielson gave the Thunderbirds their largest lead of the game, 52-24 at the 7:00 mark.

Southern Utah finished the game shooting 41 percent, holding the UTPA to 25.7 percent shooting and posting a 46-34 rebound advantage. Perry Petty led the Broncs with 12 points.
