ALL 2400 SECONDS WERE NEEDED IN REMATCH
2/22/12 - New York, NY: Brown took a 1 point lead with 30 seconds left after Taylor Wright hit a mid-range shot at the top of the key. Then with 7 seconds left, Coach Rogers elected to intentionally foul to force a rushed possession. After a timeout and some adjustments by Brown, Columbia threw it in and at the buzzer Brian Barbour shot a wide open 3 on the right wing to hit his 5th and most important 3 of the night.
"I knew that shot was in as soon as it left the kid's hands" said Rogers, "Their perimeter guys dominated this game again. This time we weren't as lucky against them."
Columbia scored 45 of their 62 points in the first game between these two. Tonight Barbour, Agho, and Frankowski combined to score 44 of their 66 points.
"We made it a point to try and stop their back-court but we just didn't execute" explained Rogers, "Too many times we left them just enough space to shoot and they will hurt you behind the arc. We need to do better on closing out."
Although Taylor Wright and Tucker Halpern scored a combined 37 points, they combined to just 8-13 from the free throw line.
"We were pretty bad from the free throw line tonight which is odd since we are usually pretty good at the stripe."
"Now we have to just look ahead to tomorrow when we have a huge game with Cornell."

Tucker Halpern has averaged 26.3 ppg over the past 3 games.
The Bears are on a 2 game losing streak.
CORNELL:
Errick Peck has scored in double digits in every game since the last time these 2 teams met.
The Big Red anticipates a sellout crowd for the biggest game of the year for both teams
Significant Quotes with Coach Rogers before Cornell game:
Comments on the 2 game skid:
"I feel like both were winnable games and we let them slip. But we can't worry about the past couple games now. It's all about tonight against Cornell."
How will you stop Peck who has dominated as of late?
"Well last time we held him to 9 points on 4-10 shooting. I am extremely confident that Taylor Wright and Tyler Ponticelli will hold him check."
On the importance of this game:
"This is hands down the most important game for either of us. If we lose tonight, we could drop down all the way to 6th place but if we win, we could be within half a game behind 1st. The only problem is Cornell will have the same consequences. If we lose tonight and Princeton wins, we are pretty much out of the running period. This game is kind of important."

BLOWOUT MAKES FOR A 3RD STRAIGHT LOSS
2/23/12 - Ithaca, NY: The Brown Bears dropped a 3rd straight in a game that was never in doubt in the second half.
"I don't know what happened tonight" commented Rogers, "Other than Wright, nobody did anything. We had too many turnovers, we didn't close out on their shooters, and just looked like we didn't care tonight. This was really disappointing for us."
Cornell had a double digit lead for almost the whole second half.
"There were a couple of times that I thought we might have caught some momentum but we just couldn't put together a good enough run."
Brown will now host Princeton in a game where if Brown loses, they will have no chance at winning the conference.

No match-up preview for this game.. Just check out the last one from 3 games ago.. Not much difference.
Significant quotes for pregame of Princeton game:
What has happened to your team the past couple of weeks?
Well 2 of the losses came down the stretch but I don't know what happened to my guys in the Cornell game. It looked like they just didn't care. They better not play that tonight if they want a shot at the conference title.
Last time you played Princeton, you held your own in a very hostile environment. Do you think the home-court advantage is what you need to beat Princeton?
No I don't think so. We played in some really tough places in the non-conference and that is why I had us play those games. No matter where we play, we should be prepared.
What is the message that you will give to your team before the game?
If [the guys] want to play after the regular season is over, [they] need to win tonight. There are no other options.

PRINCETON'S 7 GAME WIN STREAK SNAPPED
2/29/12 - Providence, RI: Two weeks ago these two teams met at Princeton and the Bears walked away with a loss that easily could have been a win.
"As a team we felt like we let that one get away from us" said Rogers, "We came to with a purpose tonight. You could tell by the way that the guys practiced this week that we came with a sense of urgency that was missing the past few weeks."
Doug Davis, the leading scorer on the Tigers line-up, was held to just 3-14 shooting.
"We really played good defense for the first 30 minutes. We let it get away from us late in the game but we were able to answer with our own shots."
Princeton boasts a team that is centered around the front-court which can be deceiving since most of their bigger guys can shoot.
"They have some really good post guys and I felt like everyone did a good job containing that tonight" commented Rogers, "Actually it was their back-court that did most of their scoring. On the offensive end, however, our guards did a really good job stepping up since Princeton is so good in the front-court. I also thought that Andrew McCarthy did a great job tonight and he got more PT tonight because of it."
Winning this game tonight keeps Brown in the hunt for the IVY League title.
"We can only control what we can control so we will take it one game at a time and prepare for Penn tomorrow night."
