          BROWN RECRUITING NEWS

Providence, RI: Earlier in the season Brown claimed that they stopped looking for players to sign. Well they ended up signing a point guard on the last day of the signing period.

          3* Daymond Ravello - PG: 5'10 161 lbs.

"We had been recruiting him for a good part of the season. After the tournament was over he called us and said he was interested and the rest is history. Daymond and Joe Sharkey will fight for the starting position. Daymond is a very good player who will be a very good player for us. He does a little bit of everything. He will most likely be our best defender. He is easily the best ball-handler on the team and might be one of the best in the conference."

          Walk-ons:

          2* Herb Cranford - SF: 6'5 196 lbs.
2* (Jr) Vern Shields - SG: 6'4 202 lbs. (Good defender)
          1* Raymond Weber - C: 6'7 224 lbs.

There must be something amiss with that roster/coaching file. He's 43!

Yea I know him and Gillespie retiring both were surprises! I was even more surprised that they hired a coach from Farleigh Dickinson of all places. Why not a mid-major or an Ivy League coach?

I could maybe understand it if he made a deep run into the tournament, but FD didn't even make it in, did they?

They did not. I can't say whether or not they made the NITs but I doubt they did.

EDIT: They ended up 16-14 (9-9). He's only a B coach but they do run the same offense (Flex). So maybe that had something to do with it?
