Big win for Brown. Just two games back, time to root for Cornell to take down Harvard while you play Penn.

          PENN:
The Quakers are last place in the IVY League.
Fran Dougherty is 2nd in rebounding in the IVY League.

          BROWN:
Joe Sharkey still leads the IVY League in assists per game.
The Bears are 1st in assists per game in the IVY League.

          Pregame Quotes:

With Penn not in the hunt, what do you expect from them tonight?

I am expecting them to give it their all, especially from their seniors. I don't think this will be an easy game by any means.

How bad is Taylor Wright's injury?

It's not bad enough to keep him out of the game. It will be a feel thing on whether or not I think he should play a lot. He will start though.

The last time you played Penn, Loughry and Bernadini combined for 32 points. What will you do to stop them tonight?

Well the last time we played them, we just let Loughry do whatever he wanted. I'm gonna have Tucker guard him while Taylor will defend Bernadini. Bernadini is only 6'6, so his size won't be an issue with our small forwards.

BROWN PULLS AWAY IN SECOND HALF

3/1/12 - Providence, RI: In the last home game of the year for the Bears, they were led by freshman Joe Sharkey (17 points, 7 assists) to stay in the hunt for the IVY League championship.

"Our defense today was spectacular" said Rogers, "The game was pretty fast-paced today and forced some bad shots."

Brown got a season-high 40 rebounds as well.

"Our effort was really good today. It was really nice to see us go after the ball and grab it. They didn't get many second chance opportunities."

Taylor Wright, who hurt his knee in the Princeton game, only played 13 minutes.

"He had a pretty bad game tonight. He was obviously favoring his knee the whole game and it would have been dumb to play him too much. He should be feeling almost 100%. Once again it will be a feel thing all through practice next week and during the game against Harvard."

                BROWN:
The Bears only scored 15 points in the first half the last time these two teams played.
Tucker Halpern has scored in double digits in every game but 1 since Brown played Harvard.

                HARVARD:
Keith Wright is leading the IVY League in rebounding (9.5)
The top 3 players in the steals category are all on Harvard.

                PRE-GAME QUOTES:

The last time these teams played, it was a blowout. What will you do different?

"We have to come out with more of an urgency. We were horrible at the start of the game against them and it gave us no chance to come back. Also, Brandyn Curry had 9 assists so we have to make him uncomfortable and disrupt their flow offensively."

Josh Biber scored 14 points last time you played Harvard. Will he get some playing time tonight?

"Well most of those came when we were down 20 and it didn't matter. But hey you never know he may get some PT tonight."

How do you plan on stopping their post game?

"Our big guys have to play hard tonight. We have to be physical because there is no doubt in my mind that they will give it their all tonight. This game means as much to them as it does for us.

IVY LEAGUE HUNT JUST GOT INTERESTING

3/7/12 - Cambridge, MA: With 10:52 left in the game, Oliver McNally hit a 3 to put Harvard up 13 points. Then with 4 minutes left, Sharkey found Gore on wide open backdoor lay-up to take the lead for Brown, 67-66. In the last 4 minutes, the Bears would not hit another shot.

"If you would have told me before the game that if we had a 1 point lead on Harvard with 4 minutes left and we would not hit another shot and that we would still have won, I would say your crazy" said Rogers.

But that is exactly what they would do. The Bears would go 4/4 from the free throw line and would hold Harvard to one basket to win 71-68.

"Our team showed a lot of grit in this game" said Rogers, "To be down 13 points with 10 minutes left and to come back at Harvard shows how hard our guys wanted it. It was a complete effort from everyone tonight. I could go on and on how each player positively impacted this game."

Brown is now within 1 game behind Harvard for the conference title. Cornell and Princeton have yet to finish their games.

"It's gonna be an interesting day tomorrow for sure."

                          PREGAME QUOTES

In the 2nd half against Dartmouth last game, your team put up 52 points. How are you gonna try to recreate that tonight?

"Well I highly doubt we will do that again. They run a bunch of different defenses. Well at least they did last time. And if they do that again, it should be interesting how it will work out."

It's senior night for Dartmouth. How much will that affect the game?

"Well for us it won't make the slightest difference. We do know that they will come out ready to give it their all, so we will have to match their intensity."

What do you think the chances of Harvard and Princeton losing tomorrow are?

"We can control only what we can control."
“If you’re true to yourself, you’re going to be true to everyone else.”
