Re: Time To Shake Things Up: A New Breed Of Dynasty: Discussion Thread
I've got another prospect.
Personal (Face 7)
First Name: Tyrell
Last Name: Robinson
Position: SG
Play Style: Slasher
Secondary Position: SF
College/from: Kansas
Birth Date: 11-15, 20
Jersey Number: 8, 3, 10
Handedness: Left
Dunking Hand: Left
Experience: 2 years at Kansas
Personality: Laid Back, has a T-Mac like personality, doesn't really show that Alpha dog trait, but is a really gifted basketball player. Just minds his own business, and calmly goes out and drops 40 on a team with the biggest dunk of the night with his head nearly grazing the rim. Doesn't have the Kobe Bryant fire in his cheats step on your throat type of personality. Leadership has been questioned in the past.
Play Initiator: No
Bio: Tyrell Robinson is an insane athlete. He has a 43 inch vertical, runs a 40 in 4.47 seconds, broad jumps 10'7", and benches 425 in a long 215 pound frame with 38" arms. He was also a great basketball player. Hailing from Toronto, he has drawn comparisons to DeMar Derozan and Andrew Wiggins (Wiggins grew up in Toronto as well, and DeRozan was a Toronto Raptor for his entire career), and they are fitting. He averaged 23.3 PPG, 7.7 RPG, 5.6 APG, and 2.1 SPG in his senior year of high school. His High school squad made the State Semi's but lost, in a game where he played poorly. He signed on at Kansas. His Freshman year, he averaged 16 PPG, 5 RPG, and 3 APG in his first season. The team made a Sweet Sixteen bid but lost to Duke, who would make the Final Four. The next year, they made it to the Elite 8, behind his 19 PPG, 7 RPG, 4 APG, and 2 SPG season, but fell to that year's Cinderella team, Utah Valley, in the Elite 8, in another big game that He shrunk in, scoring just 9 points on 2/17 shooting, 1/6 from 3, and 4/13 from the line. He has expressed interest in playing pro basketball, but not for the NBA, once the EBA was announced, he was immediately intrigued. He wanted to be like Dr. J, who was an ABA player first, and go to the 'Other League' and be the face of it. Scouts question whether or not he has the mentality to be that superstar player though.

Face 16 (Jasper Opoku)
Personal
First Name: Jasper
Last Name: Opoku
Position: SF
Play Style: All-Around
Secondary Position: N/A
College/from: Great Britain
Birth Date: 10-30, 20
Jersey Number: 9, 4, 13
Handedness: L
Dunking Hand: L
Experience: Played EuroLeague since he was 15 for Great Britain.
Personality: Neutral, the moderator, and voice of reason in the locker room. A quiet guy, bordering in shy, but a necessary guy to have in the locker room, A peacekeeper. Very reserved, and is a glue guy on the court who does bit of everything. He can shoot, rebound, defend, and do the little things for you.
Play Initiator: No
Bio: Jasper Opoku is an interesting guy, and a generally likable one. The mild-mannered 6'9" wing from the UK always stood out, even though he tried not to. Then again, when your the tallest guy around and a significant minority in you country, you stick out like a sore thumb. Jasper was born in Great Britain, but his parents hail from Ghana. He was bullied in grade school for his height and Ghanaian decent, so he developed reserved behaviors and was very much an introvert. One day, an elderly man, who he later discovered was former NBA Small Forward Luol Deng, pulled him asides he was walking home and asked him if he was alright. Deng introduced him to basketball. Jasper took this game as a refuge from all of his problems, and developed a passion for it. He turned out to be an excellent two-way player, not unlike Deng himself. He got asked to try out for the British National League Team (which I'll be honest was not very good) at age 15. He was a well-liked guy by the teammates, and they made a run in the FIBA EuroLeague Tournament, but where shut down in the Quarter-Finals. Over his FIBA career, he has averaged 18 PPG, 8 RPG, 6 APG, 2 SPG, and 1 BPG. He is the type of guy coaches and players love, and could be a key complementary piece to a superstar en route to a title run.

In his freshman year at Kansas he demonstrated a strong ability to score, leading him to be named the conference player of the year. Birth Date: 07-17; age 21
Jersey Number: 11, 13, 4
Handedness: Right
Dunking Hand: Right
Experience: 3 years at Stanford
Personality: Laid Back; No an alpha dog, but can still be an effective primary scorer. Also can run an offense through him. Shrinks in big moments, and struggles with getting in his own head after mistakes, leading to more mistakes.
Play Initiator: Yes
Bio: Growing up in the bay area, Sky Thompson was a stud. He dominated AAU, averaging 34.7 PPG on 60% shooting, and 48% from 3. He dominated the 5A California High School league, but failed to capture a state title, faltering in the championship game and scoring a paltry 5 points. Sky is the grandson of NBA shooting guard Klay Thompson. His father, Zhane, was an NBA point guard, making him a fourth generation Pro-basketball player, since Klay's father Mychal also played for the Lakers. Sky got a full-ride scholarship at Stanford, where he played for three years. His first two years resulted in tournament births, and disappointing losses where he played poorly. His Junior year, they got a 4 seed, won handily, and moved on the the round of 32, where they lost to Washington, who lost in the Sweet Sixteen. He averaged 27 PPG, 6 RPG, 7 APG, and 47% from 3 in his junior year. The NBA hasn't shown much interest in him though, as they don't believe he has the athleticism to compete in the NBA. This angered him when he got word of it. So he is going to play in the Rival EBA and make them eat their words. His girlfriend, Zoe Adams, is in the WNBA and is one of the best point guards in the league, averaging 19 PPG, 17 APG, 4 RPG, and 5 SPG.

Play Initiator: Yes
Bio: A Rajon Rondo clone, King is an interesting specimen. Known as the best passer in the country when he was in high school, he was a top-flight recruit from Atlanta. He led his team to three state titles, averaging 15 PPG, 16 APG, and 11 RPG in his last year, just the second player in Georgia High School History to average a triple double in high school, the other being Rondo himself. He led his team to an undefeated season in his senior campaign. He committed to Georgia Tech, where he was combined with 4 other 5 star recruits to create a new "Fab 5". Unfortuantely, 3 of them got hurt in the first season, and the one that stayed healthy with King left for the Street Ball circuit. They failed to make the tourney, which frustrated King as the season went on. He averaged 14 PPG, 9 APG, and7 RPG. His sophomore campaign resulted in another Tournament snub, and two more teammates left, one for Europe, and the other to join the street Ball league. That left just Rondo, and his Center, Derrick Smith, to hold down the fort in their junior seasons. He played angry that year, averaging 21 PPG, 13 APG, and 9 RPG. They made the tournament at last, but got knocked out in the second round by Villanova, who would go on to the final four that year. Fed up with the lack of success, he left GT a year early, and the NBA is going to call his name on draft day.

I could see him being a bit of a pot smoker haha! But yeah his personality is that he is goofy, never takes anything seriously, always joking around even during games and practice, has gotten him into trouble in the past with coaches but he become more serious in games during his time at Nevada, still jokes around everywhere else thoughComment

Also, if you guys want to make an unrealistic player, like a 7'1" point center or something, go ahead. Remember, this is 35+ years from now, a lot can change. So go crazy.
Also, I want to relocate Utah, any ideas for where? The Jazz move, and the New Orleans Pelicans become the Jazz again.
Edit: Could you have lost in the Euroleague semi's after beating Opoku and the GB squad. Spain beat France in the Euroleague title this past season. You could have lost to France and dominant big man tyrone marcus, or the duo of Andrell Anderson and Julius goodwin, who led the spain squad to the title.Last edited by BraedenG33; 03-07-2014, 12:07 AM.Comment

Re: Time To Shake Things Up: A New Breed Of Dynasty: Discussion Thread
I'm confused by this. I was talking EuroBasket, which is for national teams (of which Opoku is the only European national) not EuroLeague, which is for the club teams, I do have that in there, so I can change that, but Spain probably would not have been led to the championship by Goodwin and Anderson, who would have both been US nationals, unless they applied for Spanish citizenship. I will change my EuroLeague results, but I'll wait on changing the results from EuroBasket.Comment
