Re: Can't Stop Me | Story of Kendall Jenkins

    January 4th, 2016 - Date Night, or...

After the big win, Coach announced there would be no practice the next day as a reward for their play as well as the fact that they didn’t have a game until a couple of days.

With the campus residence halls being shut down for winter break nobody was really around so the team decided to do something on the Sunday however Kendall opted out as he’d had plans to get together with Charlie and head to Denver for the Bronco’s game against the Colts in the AFC Playoffs.

The drive was just over an hour and the two had a good time talking during the ride. When they arrived at the Mile High Stadium it was packed as usual with fans anticipating the opening playoff game. Kendall was surprised a couple of guys recognized him and even asked for a picture with him. Playing at a small school he wouldn’t think these kids would really know him well, or maybe it was because he was a tall black kid, everyone assumes they’re basketball players.

Before they could get to their seats from the concession stands Kendall noticed two suited men with pitch black glasses staring at what seemed to be dead at him and even pointing on occasion. There were thousands of other individuals in that stadium so Kendall didn’t too much of it but then one of them grabbed their phone and began to make a call, Kendall squinted but tried not to act like he was paying any attention to them. He watched the man’s mouth move and Charlie’s grabbed his shoulder curious as to why we was staring off in space.

“Those guys over there keeping looking and pointing at me, it’s making me nervous, now he’s on the phone talking to somebody.”

“Are you talking about them,” she points at the men and Kendall nods. “They are probably just security.”

“Security shouldn’t be staring me down like I’ve got a machine gun on my back, let’s just go.”

They proceed to the seating area and find their nosebleed seats near the top. They were just in time for kick off and ended up having a good time, since Kendall had been so busy with basketball he was finally able to sit down and catch up with her. When he finished up with his large Sprite he had purchased he let Charlie know he was going to run to the bathroom right quick.

    He didn’t return afterwards.

“What the **** is this?” Kendall exclaimed in the back of a blacked out Mercedes Benz. “Who are y’all, what the ****, man?”

They didn’t respond, instead the man in the passenger seat dialed up a number on his phone and put it up to his ear, “We’ve got him in the backseat, we’re headed to your destination.”

He hung up soon after and still didn’t respond to Kendall’s constant questions. They’d handcuffed him, stolen his phone, and forced him into the car while leaving Charlie extremely worried at the game. They drove quickly down a couple of streets to a small aircraft hangar and the passenger of the car exited and demanded Kendall to do the same.

From there he was led into a helicopter and was joined by four other men at the launch pad. He got in as fiercely ordered and the chopper took off going east out Colorado.

Still not a word was said and after a couple of hours the pilot picked up the communication device.

“We’re arriving at the destination, the penthouse launch pad, your prime suspect is here and handcuffed.”

“Get out you piece of ****.” One of the men told who sat with him in the cabin ordered. Kendall followed the direction and was escorted into the building where he saw no other than Ace sitting behind a desk.

“Sit down.” He says with the deep voice Kendall still remembered to the day. “Social media is a bitch isn’t it? All I gotta do to find someone’s Twitter page and I’ve got all their information just like that, going to the Bronco’s game,” he chuckles. “It’s too easy.”

“I didn’t know gang bangers had choppers these days. Figured with me being eleven hours away I finally wouldn’t have to deal with your bull**** anymore.”

“Gang banger,” Ace mumbled with another laugh. “I ain’t no damn gang banger, I’m Officer Malone, I can’t believe you fools never thought to think why a grown man was running a street gang full of little kids…”

Kendall’s eyes widen in response to the statement, “So why am I here,” he asks with a raised tone. “Please explain, all I ever did to you is run away so I could continue playing basketball instead go down for murder. Why won’t you leave me alone?”

“You see Kendall, all this time I was playing undercover, big time, I don’t know if you heard but I’ll admit; the 5-0 is corrupt in North Las Vegas. I wanted all you dumb fools off the streets and that’s what I did, maybe it wasn’t the right way but I did I don’t care. I did it and for that I am proud. But then there’s you.”

“What? I haven’t been around the Vice in over a year? I don’t claim them or anything, I never have!” Kendall cried out.

“Well you see here, I understand that. What you don’t know is that you’re here because your father, not the Vice; I don’t care about that anymore.”

“My father?” Kendall questions. “I haven’t seen my dad since I was five! What could he possibly have done?”

“Alright time’s running out so allow me to explain this briefly, when your dad was out here in Las Vegas for a couple weeks we were both real young and I was actually on the streets at that time, an actual gang banger, anyways he ****ed me over big time money wise then ran off; just like you. You two are the exact same… He owes me over twenty thousand but looks I’m not getting it because he’s off the map, can’t find him anywhere. You’re all that’s left of him and I don’t like seeing you around.”

“Then why the **** did you have these fools fly me back here? This the second time you’ve tried this! Just let me be and you won’t have to see me around.” Kendall snapped so loudly that the other men stepped inside the building.

“Why do you think you’re here?” He said sarcastically. “I’m going to ****ing kill you, *******.”

“So let me get this straight, you’re going to sacrifice you and the entire LVPD career just to kill me because my dad owed you some money fifteen years ago?”

“Hey, nobody’s going to know it’s me, no guns, just a timer.” Officer Malone smirks and arises from his chair to proceed out the penthouse. He climbs into the chopper with the agents and leaves Kendall as the only one left in the building

    “Wait what?”

A timer meant a bomb, Kendall realized that. He had no clue what to do; the timing had to be coming soon. He tried the elevators but they were shut down, he searched around like a madman but couldn’t find a way out.

    “I guess this is it.”

January 9th, 2016 - Back to the Basics

“Aren’t you going to go to jail or something?” Kendall asks Officer Haled. “You killed three officers!”

“Nothing is going happening to me,” he states with confidence. “You know how much evidence I had on those guys? When I joined the department and realized the way they went about handling things I questioned it but they told me if I ran my mouth to anyone anything they’d take me out, pronto. Looks like I won after all though, I’m just making things how it’s supposed to be.”

“I just can’t believe I’m still alive.” Kendall says with his heart still racing from what just happened.

Officer Haled was the pilot of the helicopter, right after he took off with Officer Malone [Ace] and the others, he successfully fired shots at all of them and retained grip of the aircraft before turning around and returning to save Kendall from the penthouse that was just under a minute from blowing.

“Well you are. Everything with Malone is over. That guy was one big piece of ****, all of them were.”

“Yeah, I know,” Kendall says with no grief for the men. “You going to take me back to Colorado?”

“I can’t, I have to go and report this all to the department immediately. A lot of stuff is bound to happen after this. This is big, national headlines big.”

He couldn’t thank that man enough for not only saving his life but also ending all his conflict he had with Ace and the Rollerz.

      It was finally all over.

He wound up missing a couple of practices but luckily no classes because it was still winter break. While he was out in Las Vegas, Kendall was able to make a visit home to see his mom and Trevor. They were doing well and unharmed which made Kendall happy.

Before he could make his next stop he was called in for questioning at the police headquarters downtown. He told them what they wanted and it was over. Soon afterwards that entire department had been exposed for all their extreme wrongdoings but wasn’t penalized as they claimed all those who organized it were the ones who were shot by Officer Haled. Although he was crowned a hero, Haled broke the law and had no legal reasoning for shooting the officers. He was sent to prison on an exceptionally short sentence.

Kendall went on to visit his two children; Avery and Gabrielle for the first time in-person. Because they were born on October 15th, the middle of his school semester, Kendall wasn’t able to make it out to see Holly give birth to his twins. Kendall was happy to see both the babies who were now just under two months shared plenty features with him. He wanted to leave Holly on a good enough note so he went out to eat with her and caught up with things, he felt bad as they had two completely different outlooks; she did nothing but complain about all the stress while Kendall shared his stories of success on the court.

A few days later he saw his old teammate Kris Wells [who had transferred to Findlay Prep] take on Bishop Gorman for some high school basketball classic at the MGM Grand. Wells was now a sophomore four star recruit who was getting interest from nearly every major power conference school in the country... He averaged just over 20 points in the Nike EYBL last summer so it was surprising to see he wasn’t a five star player yet.

So to say the least, Kendall had a good time with the completely unexpected visit back to his homeland but when his mom wasn’t able to put enough money together to get him back to Greeley before class resumed he was in trouble for a quick second before he thought of contacting the campus Boosters who put money in his bank account for a plane ticket... Kendall had read a good amount of NCAA violation articles in the past and that kind of sounded like it would be one of them but they sure didn’t hesitate to do it.

With all the tickets for a flight prior or on the date of January 8th being sold out Kendall was forced to settle on a January 9th ticket, a flight one complete day after the team’s game against Idaho State, a game in which Kendall could’ve probably gone for at least thirty points.

Nonetheless, he arrived back at Northern Colorado and received a ton of emotional relieve from his peers on campus, especially Charlie who’d witnessed it all first. They explained to him how they thought he was dead after they’d been calling and texting his stolen phone for multiple days. Kendall learned he was even on some Missing Persons reports. His teammates had taken care of business at Idaho State yesterday and won 82-56. Dominique, who’s been angry at Kendall ever since he took his starting spot this season, did nothing but brag about how he started and scored 10 points on three three pointers. In worse news, Kendall learned Tevin had injured his hand in the game.

But anyways, Kendall had a pretty dangerous and peculiar week, thankfully it ended just fine. Now it was time to act like nothing ever happened and refocus for the game tomorrow against the conference’s best team; Northern Arizona (11-4).

Northern Arizona Shoots the Lights Out

        Associated Press

Northern Arizona's students and fans have played a big role in the basketball team's success. Seats at every home game have all come very close to a sell out.

GREELEY, Colo. -- The Bears returned to Greeley with a sorrowful loss against a Northern Arizona team that had caught fire and refused to miss. The Lumberjacks took it 90-76.

Every player who played in the game (10/12) scored and did it in a sharp manner as this N Arizona team didn’t see too many misses on the night, going a lights out 66% from the field and 47% from beyond the arc.

“They were playing 2-3 zones on us so we used that as an easy way to get off our shots,” N Arizona’s Head Coach Adras said. “My team has made a good name for themselves as long distance shooters but N Colorado didn’t really make too many adjustments for our offense, we turned it over a lot compared to them and we didn’t play too well outside of the shooting but a win is a win. Great shooting night from my boys!”

The Lumberjacks were led by 2014-2015 all-conference honors small forward Quinton Upshur who tortured the defense with 21 points on 8-12 shooting. He was accompanied by point guard K.J. Bluford who joined the party and netted 19 points on 50% including 4 three point field goals. Another senior, Gaellen Bewernick helped the team down the stretch with some shots to push the lead forward as he finished with 13 points while missing just 1 shot of his 6.

Freshman Trevor Nelke [8] and sophomore Ako Kaluna [9] came off the bench and combined for 17 points on perfect shooting.

“This loss is on me,” N Colorado’s head coach B.J. Hill said. “I failed to make the needed adjustments and we paid for it… Tevin had that broken finger injury, he said he could still start but I should’ve known it wouldn’t be the same for him… This is just a lost to blame me on. I take full responsibility.”

Tevin Svihovec broke his finger against Idaho State in the closing minutes last week. In this game despite the injury, Hill kept Tevin on the floor for 27 minutes and hardly played Jordan Wilson or Corey Spence who both entered the game and performed well enough for most to think they could stay on for the struggling Svihovec.

Tevin’s numbers turned out very poorly as the junior shot 2-11 and 0-7 from three point range. Kendall Jenkins, who missed the Idaho State game with personal issues, was forced to pick up a lot of slack as very little seemed to work for his team. The freshman indeed stepped it up with a new career high 32 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 steals but it wasn’t enough.

“I was scoring so many points,” Kendall remarked. “I looked up at the scoreboard and finally realized the actual score, when coach called a timeout I told the team to step it up. We were giving up so many threes, it was crazy. This isn’t a good loss, we could’ve won it.”

The Bears got okay production from senior center Brendan Keane who gave in 10 points and 4 rebounds along with both 2 steals and blocks. Tim Huskisson finished with 9 but had a hard time finding consistency with his shot throughout the game. Guard Jordan Wilson had 7 points while Corey Spence dished out 4 assists.

7’0 freshman center Branduinn Skeeter ,who had his redshirt removed earlier in the season, scored 4 points before going down with what trainers called a sore knee. He is expected to be back in the next couple of days.

Northern Colorado will return home and look to bounce back against (4-10) Montana State on the 15th and Northern Arizona will look to stretch its win streak to 5 with their next game at (0-12) Idaho State on the 17th.

Re: Can't Stop Me | Story of Kendall Jenkins

A couple of days ago a tweet was sent out by Northern Colorado's freshman Kendall Jenkins that was directed towards NBA Draft analyst Chad Ford asking "why am I not in the mock draft." This has sparked attention towards the 6'9" small forward and I've taken it upon myself to further scout this kid and see if he's got what it takes to make the step to the league as early as it appears he fantasizes.

When I watched a couple hours of his footage from both high school and his college games up to this date he reminded me of two people; 1.) Darius Miles and 2.) Josh Smith. One being a worst case scenario and the other being the best; I think you can make the assumption. The ironic thing is neither of these players went to college to further develop their game and some can argue that they suffered from it and didn't quite reach their ceiling [obviously Miles, somewhat Smith].

This could happen to Jenkins as well if he actually makes the move to enter the draft if his name was to appear on the mock boards.

This is an extremely athletic kid who came into college as a three star prospect out of North Las Vegas. I didn't hear much about him at the time but some analyst emphasized Jenkins had bumped from a 2 star player to a 3 three within a month and could've kept going but he moved out of the state and wasn't able to continue his prep career.

Now he's competing in the Big Sky conference at Northern Colorado after turning down offers from California, UNLV, and Nevada. As a true freshman he's shocking fans as he's currently averaging a complete double-double with 18.3 points and 11.5 rebounds.

He's definitely impressive number wise but there's always a downside to everything and here's what I've seen regarding Kendall and his game.

                Negatives
Defense - Kendall is a daredevil specifically when it comes to playing the passing lanes, it either works [he averages 1.8 steals per game] or he completely fails and finds his defender advancing past him with an easy pull up jumper... Kendall's team plays a lot of zone defense and I've noticed his positioning is poor and response times are as well. He doesn't close out well but does use his length to back it up.

Jump Shot - Much like Josh Smith and Darius Miles, Jenkins struggles with his jumpshot but does not hesitate to let it fly. Luckily his main strength is driving to the basketball and that's where most of his points come from but anytime that's not available he's in deep trouble because his jump shot is not dependable at all.

Decision Making - This attribute comes on both offense and defense. Kendall is constantly turning the ball over [3.1 per game] and on defense he's committing fouls that shouldn't have happened: considerable against Washington State when a poor reach in foul costed his team the game... A thing I noticed is that he makes his decisions very quickly and doesn't think too much of it which makes him pay more times than not.

Defensive Rebounding - Kendall has some of the best rebounding numbers in the nation at the moment but most of those come on garbage rebounds, or better known as easy jump and get it rebounds... He's either getting boxed out on defense or using his athleticism to rise over defenders which works sometimes. That's not going to translate to the next level.

Post Defense - Early on in the season Kendall was placed playing power forward and was completely exposed on the low block which led to lineup changes by B.J. Hill. Jenkins would often get backed down by the bigger bodies with ease and his only way to stop it was to use his vertical to contest the shot.

Creating Own Shot - This is Kendall's biggest weakness in my opinion. First of all he can't create a shot because he can't shoot in the first place and two he's simply not good on off the dribble situation. He finds his points off basket cuts and speed.

                Positives
Length - He puts his 6'11 wingspan to good use and extends very well when driving to the basket. This also allows him to grab the vast majority of his rebounds.

Athleticism - Kendall is 6'9 and moves like a guard. He's able to start off on the perimeter and drive all the way in the painted area. His 41 inch vertical isn't bad either...

Offensive Rebounding - I'm in doubt that Kendall would translate his rebounding skill into the NBA or even a power conference college but for the time being he's been awesome on the offensive glass. When I watched his footage I had the image of Moses Malone in my head the entire time when it came to rebounding. He goes up in the paint and if he misses the shot he gets the ball right back, he's also very good with chasing the ball down.

                Overall
You can argue that stats don't lie but this prospect is extremely raw and not at all ready for the NBA. I had a hard time writing positives for Jenkins because the kid honestly doesn't noticeably excel at anything at the moment. He'll need to utilize the next few years to develop his game at Northern Colorado. Chad Ford even suggested he'd have a better chance at a bigger school, maybe he should transfer if he's serious about being something in the league.

                        January 20th, 2016 - Making the Move

“Seems like we’re finally getting good,” Chase says as the two studied in the library together. “I just realized we’ve gone four and one over the last five games.”

“Yeah, the Big Sky is garbage,” Kendall squints at his research information on the computer monitor and yawns, they’d just got out of classes after morning basketball practice and now were studying for an exam they both had tomorrow. “I’m averaging like a twenty five points against these scrubs; we’ll win the conference championship as long as we take out Northern Arizona.”

“Yeah hopefully … But that reminds me, did read that article DraftExpress posted about you yesterday?” He says and Kendall looks at him clueless.

“What article? Nobody told me about it.”

“Look it up on your profile. The guy was talking mad garbage about you.”

Kendall frowns and opens a new tab for the DraftExpress website and finds his name in the player database. He scanned through all his information and got to the write up at the bottom of the page dating at January 18th, yesterday. His eyes went left and right through the writing and he ceased the criticism and shared his thoughts with Chase with his head just about ready to explode.

“This is a bunch of bull****,” He exclaimed drawing attention in the quiet library. “How do I not excel at anything when I average damn near twenty a game? I swear to you, these so called analysts are all just stupid. I can go to the NBA tomorrow and average ten points, just ****ing stupid…”

Chase listened to Kendall rant and rose his eyebrows a little, “You thinking about that transfer?”

“I should but you just don’t understand how many different changes of sceneries I’ve been through lately, I just want to settle down not go to a new college and be forced to adapt to yet another different city. This place finally feels like my home until I can make the league and have home be a mansion on some hill, you feel me?”

“Yeah, I’m hoping you don’t leave, you know how rough next season would be? No Brendan, no Dominique, no Tim, not even Corey.”

“**** Brendan and Dominique, they both suck. Only loss is Tim, Tim’s a beast… Coach told me he’s been trying to get some Mexican kid out of California, his name is Zack or something, he averaged like 17 in the EYBL. We’ll be just fine. You’ll probably start next season too; all you got to do is beat out Cody or Brando [Branduinn Skeeter]. Brando might be hard because he’s tall but you’re better than Cody, Cody sucks.”

“Yeah but Cody is going to be a senior with starting experience next season, there’s no way coach is going to start me over him.”

“Have some self-confidence damn; I took his spot at the beginning of the season, so can you.”

“Yeah but I’m not a ****ing 6’9 forward who plays like a guard and rebounds like Bill Russell either. You got it easy.”

“No,” Kendall puts emphasis on that brief statement. “I’ve got nothing good, my good and your good is different. I want the NBA but apparently I have no skills, you should be chasing the same thing, what’s the point of competing if all you think you can do is sit on the bench?”

“Let’s just get back to work. This exam isn’t gonna be easy tomorrow.”

“Alright whatever,” Kendall nods and picks up his pencil near the monitor. “Just keep those words in mind, we can shock the world, all it takes is the belief.”

It was funny that Kendall was giving this motivation to a player who played under 10 minutes a night. Chase however had been his best friend since the start of the semester and Kendall always had the tendency to want those who he considered friends to enjoy the same success he lived within.

The two continued their studies for at least two and half more hours and then part ways. The weather was okay outside so Kendall had been riding his bike around as an exercise. He rode it back to his apartment where he invited Charlie over to hang out. She let him know she’d be there soon and shortly afterwards she arrived dressed in the Northern Colorado hoodie, jeans, and a pair of Ugg boots.

They greeted with a hug and went to the couch to watch television as they chatted about what was going on around school for them. Kendall wasn’t quite sure why he invited her considering practice was once again in the morning tomorrow plus he had his exam following that.

They soon engaged in a much deeper conversation that made it irresistible for either to want to leave.

“I’ve been thinking for a while,” Kendall looks Charlie in her light brown eyes. “Well last time I told this to a girl I got her pregnant on accident and now I have twins but you already know about it… I really like you, I’ve been trying to focus with my books and basketball lately so I didn’t want to tell you yet.”

“Wasn’t that kind of already obvious?” She laughs and throws a slight jab at his arm. “What’s your point?”

“My point is that I want to make it official. You’re everything I could ask for in a girl, I’ve had my eyes on you since we met at that Footlocker during the summer,” He admits. “Everybody told me how crazy you went when I came up missing a couple weeks ago so I mean I guess you feel the same way about me.”

“You’re right, I feel the same way about you,” She shines her gorgeous smile in approval. “Ever since me and Lonny broke up I’ve been waiting for you to say that to be honest.”

“Well consider it done.” Kendall laughed and went in for a kiss, it wasn’t their first, they continued into the bedroom where they went all the way in a natural occurrence.

January 21st, 2016 - Kendall Takes no Junk

Kendall had been so caught up that he failed he set his alarm clock last night so when he woke up Charlie was gone without warning and he checked his phone to see that it was past 9:30 along with fifteen missed messages asking why he wasn’t at practice nor class.

“Dammit,” He shouted to himself. He missed the exam and practice; two events with huge downsides. Coach Hill was definitely going to run him to death tomorrow and Mr. Johnson was a strict teacher who wouldn’t give any retakes espically if Kendall didn’t have a valid reasoning of absence.

Basically he was screwed for the day but then again he was a college athlete.

When he walked into class the professor, Mr. Leonard, gave him a blank stare and continued with the course. Kendall plopped in his seat next to Chase towards the back.

“Where were you at?” He laughs and tries to avoid attention from the teacher. “Coach was pissed and you missed the test in Mr. Johnson’s class.”

Kendall whispers, “Charlie came over and I smashed, that’s a good excuse right?”

He laughs again but this time it comes out very loud and he draws the eyes of the professor who drops his chalk and gives the two boys a death stare before stating, “Would you gentlemen please exit this classroom, you’re high school years are over. I’ll be telling your coach about this behavior in my classroom.”

They pick up their books and walk out the exit doors.

                          ---Practice the next day---

“Glad you could join us Kendall,” Coach Hill sarcastically says before giving the practice plan to the boys. “Now thanks to your two freshman teammates, cough cough; Kendall and Chase, who both thought it was cool to goof around and be idiots during class, we’re going to start this practice off with an hour long session of nothing but hardcore conditioning.”

Kendall’s teammates start to scold him and Chase for their wrongdoings but Kendall doesn’t take any of it, he’s this team’s leading scorer.

“Alright let’s say I wasn’t on this team,” Kendall signals silence from the team. “Y’all would be running every ****ing day for losing EVERY game,” Kendall exclaims and continues the favor. “Maybe this conditioning will help y’all get in good ****ing shape, we can’t even run a fast break, I be the only man down the court so I don’t want to hear any of your bull****.”

“Kendall, just – just, go sit down on the bench for a while. I don’t know what the hell has gotten into you. Let’s start this practice, we’re at Montana tomorrow, we’ve gotta be ready, set up in Princeton, navy vs gold, man-man defense.” Coach Hill says before meeting Kendall at the bleachers.

“Now what’s up with you? You miss practice then I hear you’re goofing off in class. I understand you probably know you’re this team’s best player but you can’t be acting like you run everything, after all it’s still a team... We’re trying to build chemistry here, what’s up with you?”

“Nothing at all coach, let me just get out on the floor. We got bigger and better things to be discussing right now.” Kendall says and hops off the bleacher without the given permission. Coach Hill scratches his head and rejoins the team in leading the practice.

                            Northern Colorado Falls in Montana

                            1/22/2016

Greeley, Colo - When you shoot 32% from the field in a road game then you're chances aren't too great at winning. That's what happened for Northern Colorado as they fell to Montana 53-46 in the low scoring affair.

From opening tip both teams struggled to get the ball in the hoop. They shared their attempts of heaving threes up but had little success. Momentum seemed to be going the Bear's way when Kendall Jenkins got an and-one reverse layup mid-way in the first half. That would give them a small push but the Grizzlies Bears stood their ground and stuck ahead 22-20 heading in the locker room.

When the second half came around both teams picked up the pace and finally started getting the the paint a little more often. Montana crashed the glass very aggressively and used that to begin a run that led to their reasonable gain of lead as the clock ticked. They ended up defeating the Bears in their seven point victory.

"We weren't focused," B.J. Hill stated. "Yesterday we had an occurrence at practice and I guess that just served as a little setback. We weren't poised at all, shot the ball horrible and lost a very winnable game."

N Colorado got double-digit production from Jordan Wilson who had 12 points including two threes but didn't handle the ball well, committing four turnovers. Kendall Jenkins tried to keep the team alive with his 13 points and 7 rebounds but struggled from the field, going just 5-14.

Cody McDavis added 7 rebounds with 5 points and 2 blocks. Brendan Keane joined fellow starter Tim Huskisson with struggles as Keane only had 2 points and 4 rebounds while Tim provided just 6 on 2-9 shoting. The bench would prove to be no difference maker for the Bears.

Montana's senior power forward Chris Kemp led all scorers with 15 points along with 6 rebounds. In limited action, junior Jake Wiley came in and hit 7 points to tie with starting small forward Mike Weisner who had his 7 points and 9 rebounds but struggled on 2-10 shooting.

Northern Colorado will look towards their two straight games against a beyond below .500% Sacramento State team. They will host them on the 24th then will hit the road to the Hornet's Nest on the 29th.
