Thanks. I have some tough non-conference games, but I still feel pretty good about this team and our chances to have a solid season. When it comes and how far we go it will all be about match up's. Last year we played 3 Big 12 opponents which in a way helped I think because I knew the teams pretty well.

Thanks again for continuing to follow. Not sure if you caught or not but JoJo Brown is looking at staying instate, but I am trying my best to make him think about Colorado.

Coach Deuce vs the Beavers Part II

          OPPONENT PREVIEW

Last year the Beavers came away with a 113-110 victory in O.T. vs their former coach, but with the graduation of Pac-10 POY W. Ray and swingman R. Conroy, the Beavers add 2 new starters to the startin lineup as SR SG C. Poopola (90 3pt) and JR PF C. Deng (85 OVR) join the starting lineup. With Poopla at SG, 6’8 JR R. Goral moves to SF, well 6’8 SR E. Laws (10.6 PPG, 5.8 RPG, 1.3 SPG, 1.6 BGP last year) moves from PF to Center, as the Beavers go with a small lineup.

However the player to watch out for is former 5* AA PG A. Gerlach (90 OVR). The Senior had his best season yet last year averaging 11.5 PPG, 2.6 RPG, 5.1 APG, and 1.2 SPG well shooting 31% from 3pt.

          1st Half Recap.

Youngblood is named Player of the Half as he leads all scorers with 14 pts (5/9 FG, 0/1 3pt, 4/6 FT) well also having team highs in rebounds (6) and assists (3).

Lathum had a solid debut as he scores 10 pts (3/6 3pt) in the 1st half as well.

Bauer also had a solid 1st half scoring 8 pts (2/4 3pt) despite playing just 8 minutes after picking up a 3rd foul just before the half.
CU took a (51-46) lead into the half as SO PG D. Torres hit’s a 3pt at the buzzer. As a team the Buff’s 9/20 3PT.

          2nd Half Recap

Youngblood and continues his strong play proving why he was the National POY as he scores 16 points in the 2nd half despite missing all 3 of his attempts from deep. He also grabbed 6 rebs to make it a double double and finished just 2 assists shy of his 2nd career triple double as he is named POG with 30 pts (11/22 FG, 0/4 3pt, 8/11 FT) 12 rebs and 8 assists.

Lathum also had a nice 2nd half as he scores 12 points to finish with 22 pts in his college debut hitting 5/11 from deep.

With Baurer still sitting with 3 fouls, SR J. Mallory made the most of his minutes as he posts 11 pts, 4 reb, 4 assists and 4 steals off the bench hitting 3/7 from 3pt. Bauer finished with 13 points.

          V. Curtis also had a solid night off the bench with 9 pts.

          For OSU 5 players scored in double digits including 4 starters. Only SR E. Laws (8 pts and 8 reb) didn’t. However Gerlach (15 pts 8 assists, 2/5 3pt), Popolla (14 pts 2/6 3pt), R. Goral (14 pts 2/7 3pt) and C. Dieng (14 pts 7 reb 1/4 3pt) combined for just 7/22 from 3pt.

Former 5* JC Transfer A. Harmon led the Beavers with 21 pts off the bench.

Treyvonn Damon did manage to play 4 minutes in the loss, scoring on a 15 ft jumper well also dishing an assists and getting a steal. He was also the only 1 beside the Quad of starters to attempt a 3pt shot which he missed.

          FINAL SCORE COLORADO-104 OREGON STATE-98

          Coach Deuce after the game
“They cut it within 6 in the final minute but I am proud of how are guy’s handled the press and how well TJ knocked down his FT’s when they started to intentionally foul him. To have him and Lathum both finish with 20+ plus 2 other guy’s in double digits and 2 more guy’s just a bucket away proves there is enough shots to go around. I felt like Youngblood probably could’ve finished with 40 had he not passed up several shot attempts in hopes of getting that triple double”

Not looking good. Tyrone pretty much looks to be 100% committed to Gonzaga. Hopefully he will atleast get playing time, however Treyvonn did manage to get 4 minutes against me in the season opener.

By the way, are you enjoying the game?

Same as Super James Coach Frizzell's legacy. You can find them on his thread on Page 1. Only thing is I don't play 20 min halves, I play 14, but they still work pretty well, I think.

                        BUFF'S IMPROVE TO 4-0 START!!

After kicking off the season with a 6 point win over his former team, Coach Deuce and the Buff's won 3 more to improve to 4-0 on the season.

Here are recaps of the past 3 games.

The Ducks entered the game 3-0 led by SO SF Rex Robinson (ViceBeliever42) averaging 23.1 PPG, and would lead at the half (44-39) led by Robinson's 16 1st half points, but a team effort that saw all 5 starters score in double digits and 38 points from the 2nd unit propels the Buffs to the victory as they score 53 points in the 2nd half.

                        FINAL SCORE CU-92 UO-77

Robinson would finish with 24 points (3/6 3pt) to lead all scorers well adding 5 rebs and 5 assists

Youngblood would finish with a double double to lead CU as he is named POG with 13 points 10 rebounds and 6 assists as he hits 3/3 from 3pt.

                        P. Ridnour added 11 pts 6 rebs, well Torres/Bauer/Lathum and V. Curtis all added 10 points each.

FR walkon C. Acasio added 9 pts and 5 reb as well.

Like Oregon, BYU entered 3-0 on the year, and like Oregon would lead at the half (40-36), but a 3pt by Youngblood with less then a minute to play gave CU the 3pt lead, and then a bucket by Lathum with 12 seconds to play seals the win as the Buff's win by 5.

                        FINAL SCORE CU-82 BYU-77

                        P. Ridnour led the way with 23 points and 7 rebs as he takes POG honors.

Youngblood added 15 pts 6 reb and 5 assits hitting 3/4 from 3pt, well Lathum finished with 10 pts 5 reb 4 assists and had 3 blks well hitting 4/8 from the field and 1/3 from downtown.

Leading (48-42) at the half, CU held off a late run by their instate rivals as CSU falls to 0-2 on the year, despite getting 20+ points from 2 players.

                        FINAL SCORE CU-85 CSU-80

6'10 JR PF T. Hacker led all scorers with 23 pts well SR PG K. Oguns added 22 pts (3/4 3pt) in the loss.

TJ Youngblood takes POG honors as he led the Buff's with 18 points (3/7 3pt) and 7 rebs well also grabbing 3 steals.

                        J. Bauer (14 pts 3/6 3pt), P. Ridnour (12 pts), and D. Torres (10 pts 6 assists 4 stls 2/3 3pt) all added double digits.

                        A. Lathum added 7 pts 4 reb, 3 assists, 4 steals and 3 blks but was 0/7 from the field and 0/3 from 3pt as he hits 7/8 from the line.

Next up (4-0) Colorado hosts (2-0 Florida and Jackson Freeman. (Southernmedalhead)

First off congrats on a season first season with Colorado and yeah Youngblood is a monster to win POY and FOY shocked he didn't go pro. I applaud you on recruiting grabbing the #1 recruit in the nation. This team is the real deal now with 2 future first round picks on your team. Keep up the good work sucks Rex and his Ducks lost to you and he had a good game smh.

Good to see you back. Did downloading your game work for you?

Yeah Season 1 ended better then expected, minus the loss in the Chip, but I am okay with it. My team is young and I feel like they have the potential to get back.

Despite YB's performance his draft status at one point was Top Pick but dropped to lottery about mid year, so I think that is why he came back. I am glad though because I didn't want him to be a 1 and Done.

Rex is playing well and if he keeps it up, my guess is both he and YB go pro this year. Hopefully Rex can at least guide Oregon to a NCAA berth before he leaves though.

It didn't for awhile it kept stopping in the middle of the download. However today I'm doing one final download before I decide what to do next.

Season 2 with Colorado I think you'll be able to get over the hump.

Interesting that he wanted to be a Top pick before he goes pro so after this season it's gonna be interesting to see what Rex and Youngblood decide on. Hopefully Rex can leave with a successful season.

FLORIDA SNAPS 4 GAME WIN STREAK!!

4 games in 4 days turned out to be to much for Colorado, after the Buff's started the season 4-0.

Like Oregon and BYU, Florida came into the game unbeaten with a 2-0 record but unlike the previous 2 teams they are leaving Coors Field Event Center with a "W".

Trailing 46-40 at the half, the Gators outscored the Buff's by double digits in the 2nd half. CU had a chance to tie the game with 52 seconds to play but a missed 3pt by Lathum followed up by a missed 3pt by Youngblood led to the 6 point victory.

                                FINAL SCORE FLORIDA-84 COLORADO-78

6 Players scored in double digits in the loss led by FR Walkon C. Acasio (13 pts).

TJ Youngblood had 12 pts and 7 rebs but was just 5/12 from the field and 1/6 from the 3pt.

Ali Lathum led the team with 10 rebs but scored just 4 points going 0/7 from the field and 0/5 from deep.

Lathum has now played 2 straight games without making a basket.

Torres, Bauer, Ridnour and Curtis each scored 10 points.

SO SG Jackson Freeman (Southernmedalhead) led the Gators in the win with 19 points including 4/9 from 3pt.

On the season Jackson is averaging 15.3 PPG, 3.7 RPG, 3.0 APG and 1.0 SPG, well shooting 31% from 3pt (7/22). He is currently projected as a NBA Lottery Pick.
