Congratulations on Cedrick Bowen winning Big South Freshman of the Year. Hopefully he can continue to grow and produce for you. The schedule looks pretty tough, but that's how it goes for small conference schools. Good luck in year 2!

He really was a great player for us, and I doubt he'll be a dominant player for me since he really lacks size to play the center position (he's out of position there, as he is a natural power forward), but I have nobody else to play there.

I'm excited to get this second season going...so far early season recruiting is looking promising as well!

            2008 Hangar Challenge

            @

            Charleston Southern (1-0) @ Montana State (0-1)
            Clune Arena
            November 7, 2008

At the end of last season, we thought an identity had been found. Now we know it has been found. Some nights they will live by the three, other nights they will die by the three. Tonight's semi final match of the Hangar Challenge saw Charleston Southern live by the three as they outpaced Montana State 85-67 to open the 2008-09 season with a victory after being up big (41-27) at the half.

The three ball fell enough tonight for the Buccaneers who shot 16-46 from downtown. Throwing up that many threes, and missing 30 of them are usually a recipe for disaster, however, they were able to hit them when it counted. CSU was led by excellent guard play from Sheldon Strickland and Jeremy Sexton who combined for 49 points. Strickland finished with a game-high and career-high 26 points and added 3 assists, while Jeremy Strickland scored 23 points, adding 3 rebounds, 3 steals and a block. Between the two of them they shot an outstanding 18-28 from the floor, 11-19 from three. Also having career nights were Paul Gombwer who scored 6 points and grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds and Saah Nimley who scored a career-high 13 points and added a career-high 7 assists off the bench.

Montana State fought their way back into the game early in the second half, but couldn't sustain that pressure when they started throwing up three point shots that wouldn't fall. Leading the way for the Bobcats were Shawn Reid and Jamie Stewart. Reid finished with 20 points and 5 rebounds, while Stewart scored a career-high 16 points, adding 2 assists.

Up next in the Championship game of the Hangar Challenge is New Mexico (1-0) who are coming off a 69-68 victory over Harvard.

Got to love the 11/19 from dowtown from your guards, but not sure I would let Nimley take so many shots.

I am curious do you edit your players shot selections (ie close for your bigmen, drive for your slashers and 3pt for your guy's who have good 3pt ratings). I never understand why at the beginning of the season why my bigmen always have a 99 in the 3pt shooting..

I watch the games play out in CPU vs. CPU. I really enjoy the sim logic in this game. Thanks for checking it out!

Ya know what, I've said from the start that Nimley should never be shooting this many threes and I checked his 3pt ability and it's something like a 57!! But I never knew I could change his tendencies. I'll have to dig deeper and find it before moving onto the Championship game in the Hangar Challenge. Thanks Deuce!

Good start bud! Yeah tendencies can be a killer for CPU/CPU games, especially if for some reason a guy with a 57 rating puts up 13 threes! haha. Good win, hope it continues

In Closed legacies, it's about the only thing you can edit on a player. You can edit position, shot type and shot selections (tendencies). I always edit my recruits when they come in, and then at the start of each season I go in and fix my bigmen because for some reason the CPU always makes my PF and C like a 99 3pt tendency. Normally for me if a guy is 68-75 in 3 pt rating I will make him around a 70-75, if he is a 75-80 I bump it up. If the guy has a 80+ in 3pt rating I put his tendency in the 90's. My bigmen I put their close and drive to the hoop's in the high 80's-90-s and then my rest of the guy's I just sorta balance it out. That way they play in sim games like I play with them in games i play.

Milldaddy, if you look at your roster and hit a or x depending on what system you are using, it will come up with edit choices, hit edit player. Go all the way to the bottom and you'll see tendencies and on the bottom will be form. This is a great find and I have to give the kudos to Deuce for this!

I was beyond delighted to see them light it up. This should be an exciting year if they can keep it up!!
