Randle shines as Lakers top Timberwolves
      By ESPN.com
      Posted Mar. 25, 2015

The Good: Julius Randle. Julius Randle proved why he was the most NBA ready player in last June's draft. Randle poured in a career high 31 points to go along with a game high 13 rebounds and 3 blocked shots against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The former Kentucky Wildcat scored at will as he finished 14-of-17 from the field in 33 minutes and was a +11 for the Lakers in his time on the court.

The Bad: Andrew Wiggins. The 1st overall pick struggled all game long having the deal with the length of Wes Johnson. In 31 minutes, Andrew Wiggins only scored 5 points on 2-of-11 shooting including going 1-of-4 from behind the arc. Wiggins did try to help in other ways as he pulled down 8 rebounds with 6 assist and 4 steals in the losing effort.

X-Factor: Kobe Bryant. Kobe Bryant took a backseat against the Wolves and let the rookie Randle feat on them, but the Black Mamba did put his imprint on the game. In 31 minutes, Bryant finished with 24 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assist on 9-of-14 shooting in the victory.

Rookie Watch: Zach LaVine and Jordan Clarkson. Zach LaVine came off the bench for Minnesota and put up 13 points on 4-of-6 shooting 12 minutes. Clarkson picked upa double-double finishing with 14 points and 10 assist in 31 minutes of action.

Up Next: Toronto Raptors, Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia 76ers

Kobe drops a triple-double has the Lakers top the Pelicans
              By ESPN.com
              Posted Apr. 1, 2015

The Good: Kobe Bryant. The Black mamba left it all out on the court against the Pelicans as he notched a triple double in the Lakers 107-97 win. In 40 minutes of action, Bryant finished with 26 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists while adding 3 steals to his stat line. Bryant had a rough night shooting the ball going 9-of-25, but he went 4-of-5 in the 4th quarter to help his Lakers hold off the Pelicans.

The Bad: Tyreke Evans. Evans was a -11 for the Pelicans as he only shot 3-of-10 from the field in 33 minutes. The former Memphis Tiger put up 7 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assist, but his effort on the defensive end was horrible as he fell asleep multiple time on backdoor cuts by the Lakers. The Pelicans need Evans to play better if they wanna take over the 8th seed out in the West.

X-Factor: Ed Davis. Davis had the duty of guarding Anthony Davis and the 5th year big man did a decent job in containing the MVP candidate while also having a nice offensive game himself. Davis finished with 10 points and 12 rebounds on 50% shooting in 31 minutes. He held Davis to 20 points on 18 shot attempts in the victory.

Rookie Watch: Jordan Clarkson. Clarkson had another nice outing as he put up 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting in 32 minutes. The 2nd round pick also pitched in with 4 rebounds and 5 assist has he finished the night a +14 for the Lakers.

Up Next: Portland Trail Blazers, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Clippers

                    Lakers waive Nash
                    __________________________________________________

                    ESPN.com news services

Steve Nash's tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers is officially over.

The team announced Wednesday that it formally waived the two-time MVP point guard, making room on the roster to sign another free agent for the remainder of this season.

                    Nash

Nash, a future Hall of Famer, formally announced his retirement last week after nearly 19 seasons in the NBA. His tenure in Los Angeles was mostly miserable.

Plagued by injuries, Nash played in in just 65 out of a potential 246 games throughout the three-year, $28 million deal.

The Lakers gave Nash that deal in 2012, mortgaging their future by shipping four draft picks to Phoenix despite Nash having suffered health troubles late in his tenure with the Suns.

The Good: Ty Lawson. The former North Carolina Tar Heel did a little bit of everything in the Nuggets 124-199 double overtime win over the Lakers. Lawson finished with a team high 20 points in 40 minutes of action. The 5'11 points guard also pulled down 5 rebounds while dishing out 7 assist with 3 steals while shooting 6-of-19 from the field including a perfect 6-of-6 from the charity stripe in the victory.

The Bad: Jordan Clarkson. The Lakers rookie point had a somewhat decent outing finishing with 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assist in 40 minutes for the Lakers. But the 1st year guard just couldn't take care of the ball has he racked up a game high 7 turnovers in the process. Clarkson also shot 9-of-20 from the field while also going 4-of-10 from behind the arc in the Lakers 60th loss of the 014-2015 NBA season.

X-Factor: Wilson Chandler. Wilson Chandler was big off the bench for the Nuggets as he put up 17 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assist, and 3 steals as he filled up the stat sheet against the Lakers. The former DePaul product finished the game going 5-of-12 from the field, 3-of-6 from three, and 4-of-4 from the free throw line to finish a +13 for the Nuggets.

Rookie Watch: Julius Randle and Jusuf Nurkic. Both rookie big men had impressive showings, both notching double-double's. Randle played 36 minutes and finished with 21 points, 14 rebounds, 3 assist, 2 steals, and 2 blocked shots while going 7-of-11 from the floor.
