    FIU tops the Hilltoppers

Bowling Green,KY-In a pivotal game, Western Kentucky looked to defend home court against FIU. The thing is, Western Kentucky forgot to play defense. FIU wins the game 100-77. This is the first time this season that the Panthers have broken the century mark. Kent Perez had a team high 22 points, going 7-7 from the line. This puts the Panthers at 19-2 on the season, as they should almost have the Sun Belt wrapped up. A bright spot was Sam Swoger for the Hilltoppers. Swoger got to the free throw line 20 times, making 13 of them. He also shot 14-26 from the field. Coach Turner said he was proud of the way the team played, and didn't quit even when it was garbage time. The Panthers next game is against 2nd place UALR, or Arkansas Little Rock. UALR comes into the game at 13-8.

Very nice start to the season. You even beat my Troy Trojans. Big game coming up against 2nd place UALR. Hopefully you can come away with that one and gain some separation at the top.
