So my game froze right before I was able to save. So I had to redo the game against Harvard. I still won. I won't be posting that or the "updated" polls unless you guys want me to. The same thing happened at one point in my NCAA Basketball 10 dynasty. Just so you all know, Mani Galbreath did not get injured in the sim of the game against Harvard. So for the Saint Peter's game he will be in the lineup. Sorry about this guys

BROOKLYN, NY - The trainers for the Blackbirds have some sort of magic touch. Fans were pleased to see Mani Galbreath on the floor tonight and even on the starting lineup. He did not disappoint either. He managed to put up a nice 10 points and also pull down some rebounds. The game was close the entire way until the very end when Saint Peter's began to pull away. The Blackbirds struggled to make shots all game. They shot very poorly from the field and could not buy a shot from the free throw lineup. Even though the free throws that were missed wouldn't have won the game they definitely would have made it a lot closer. Shooting was a struggle from everyone on the Blackbirds. Unfortunately, the Blackbirds are seeing their nice 6-game win streak come to an end. They have played well for a few weeks now. This game was a reminder of what the beginning of the season struggle was. A lot needs to be improved if the Blackbirds look to be a contender in the UCF Holiday Classic.

ORLANDO, FL - This was one awesome game to watch. The largest lead of the game was 7. Both sides held a 7 point lead at some point during the game. Long Island started off the game with a 7-0 lead, and UT-Pan American had a 21-28 lead just before halftime. The entire second half was back and forth play all the way up to the last second. Long Island had the opportunity to take the lead at the very end of the game. Mani Galbreath was able to pull down the offensive rebound that turned off the shot clock with 20 seconds left. Erroyl Martin spent most of this time looking for the open look but ended up passing it to Jalon Ryan. He tried to pass it down into the post but UT-Pan American was able to grab the ball with only 0.8 seconds left sealing the win for the Broncs. The Blackbirds continue to struggle with shooting. This is one of the biggest issues for the team. If they are able to turn around their shooting they might be able to do better and win more games.

Wow tough loss. However as one of the veterans from the boards and one of the original posters of hoops threads back on the 2k forums, I feel like it's my place to tell you if you lose to NJIT, you have to run around your house with your pants around your ankles.Comment

Re: The Career of Sean Powell (CH2K8)
Haha! That's how I'm feeling. I have no idea why we aren't scoring more. I adjusted the tendencies of Ryan, Goral, and Martin to help give us better shooting but they STILL can't make shots. I thought we would win against UT-Pan American but I was so wrong. Statistically speaking, we are way better than NJIT.Comment

ORLANDO, FL - Today seemed like it was a free giveaway day. A total of 41 turnovers was atrocious to watch. Neither team was able to maintain control of the ball. Aside from that, there were some positive notes in this game. The Blackbirds shot well from the free throw line. They made 70% of their free throws. Both teams also racked up plenty of fouls. Long Island made it into double bonus in the first half while NJIT was struggling to play strong defense in the second half and had poor fouls. One of the fouls ended up hurting Jalon Ryan. He shot his free throws and then sat down for the rest of the game. The bench really came through today for Long Island. Erkan Floyd led the charge off of the bench. He played well down in the post by pulling down 3 rebounds and even earning a trip to the free throw line. Eddie Goral, who was recently removed from the starting five, is continuing to underperform. He only scored 4 points in his 15 minutes on the floor. The Blackbirds really needed this win to close out non-conference play. They earned themselves a third place finish in the UCF Holiday Classic and ended their 2-game losing streak.

NEC conference play started very briefly back in November. It looks like there will be a very interesting competition throughout the season. Many of the teams struggled finishing up the non-conference schedule. 6 of the 11 teams in the conference are coming into conference play with a sub-.500 record. As of now, there seems like there is no true front runner of the conference. January 3 is when the conference play really begins. Central Connecticut State heads over to face Wagner, Monmouth heads to Pittsburgh to play Robert Morris, Mount St. Mary's goes up to New York to face St. Francis, and the Red Flash get to play host to Quinnipiac.Comment

Re: The Career of Sean Powell (CH2K8)
BREAKING NEWS
BROOKLYN, NY - An investigation started on January 2 at Long Island University. After early success in the men's college basketball season, the head coach Sean Powell has been taken under investigation for using PEDs with his players. The issue was first brought to the NCAA after the Blackbirds travelled to New Hampshire nearly a month ago. The New Hampshire athletic director found a few pills left in one of the lockers used by the Blackbirds. No word has been given about who has participated by taking the prohibited substances. The NCAA hopes to have the investigation wrapped up quickly since conference play is starting across the country. As for the time being, Long Island University has suspended Coach Powell for as long as it takes for the investigation to be completed. More will be posted as the investigation is being wrapped up.
"I never have given my players PEDs. I do not know where those came from and why they were in the locker room at New Hampshire. Our recent success has been done by hard work and diligent practicing, not with the aid of steroids and other drugs. I hope that the NCAA finds out this truth at the end of this investigation. I'm sad that we've been accused of this because we started to win."
