Celtics Game 6 -Jackson Steps Up

Everyone expected the 76ers to win this game despite being on the road and force a game 7. It wasn't easy in the end the 76ers escape Boston with a 7 point victory and now get game 7 in Philly. The 76ers went with the death lineup a little more then usual in the 2nd half so that's why you see a few less minutes for Embiid. Josh Jackson lead the way with 25 points and overall 7 players scored in double figures. Embiid and Bol both was back to dominating the boards getting close to 20 each. Ben was just average and he will have to slow down and control the ball more as he had 7 turnovers in this game. Covington also shoot the ball really poor so he will need to bounce back. The Celtics ending up give 40+ minutes to Tatum and Bamba.

      Final Season

I am going to announce that this will be the final year of my 76ers dynasty. I am a big believer no matter how fun something is that you need to take a break from it to avoid getting burnt out so that's the main reason why i'll be ending it. I have already pre ordered 2k19 so i'm really looking forward to that as it sounds like some news will be coming this week on the new game. This is the first real report I've posted on here so it was fun to see all the views and comments and its helped me kill some time at work for the last 8 months. Since the NBA offseason and summer league has came to end this is the perfect time for me to detox from basketball for a few months. This time of year I have a lot of free time as far as entertainment goes no new tv shows, no sports other then baseball, no vacations planned so this will allow me to knock out some non sports games and focus on the CFSL league i am in. On some random notes if you haven't bought Detroit become human yet need to as its amazing even if you only play sports game its a must buy. I also want to finish horizon zero dawn, far cry 5 and replay some of the uncharted games before RDR 2 comes out. I don't know how this season will end so hopefully it will have a happy ending as I've enjoyed this squad I've built more then any I've ever had and I've been playing bball games my whole life (i am 36). The fall of the year will be a busy time, but i'll still find a way to post a new dynasty report so look out for a thread with my options closer to release of 2k19. I'll still be around the forums even after this season ends

Thanks for all the likes and comments especially to people like trek and Jeremy who i think have been following since i started this. Now lets go win a championship and close this out in style.

Eagerly awaiting the results of Game 7 -- can Philly prevent the collapse and come all the way back? Will this season end in tragedy or triumph?

On the topic of this being the final season, totally get it. Your reports have been a blast to read and follow, looking forward to your next project in 2K19.

Celtics Game 7 - Who Is Going To Step Up ?

The start of the 4th quarter came and it was back and forth with the 76ers holding a small 1 point lead. A little later It was still anyone's game as it was tied 4 minutes into the 4th. Ben gets 2 offensive rebounds and finds Bol for a 3 and the 76ers go up 4 with 5:48 remaining. With just a little under 3 minutes to play Fultz pretty much ices the game as it gives them a 8 point lead. Ben gets a old school 3 point play with just over 1 minute and the 76ers have escaped game 7 to fight another day.

First we have talk about Bamba and how he just dominated the game/series down low with 8 blocks. Despite the high score total every point the 76ers got was tough because he protected the rim like no other. Irving finished with 40 points and shot well however he took a lot of shots 10 more then 2nd player on the team. The Celtics are one of the teams up against the hard cap and Irving is a FA.

Ben Simmons showed why he won the MVP because in the 4th quarter he carried the team and despite getting double teamed was able to find the open man and finished with a monster night of 31-10-16. Embiid was a force on the boards with 22 and the 3 other starters played well.

Its now time to sit back and watch game 7 and see if the 76ers will have to face another elite rim protecting C/PF combo of Anthony Davis and Ayton or if they will get the much easier matchup against the Heat.

Thanks for all the comments and this will give me more time to read other reports like yours in a faster fashion. This def puts a lot of pressure on me to win when I was playing game 7 last night i keep on yelling at the cat to not make noise lol

Another reason that I forgot to add was this upcoming offseason was going to be a real pain. I've always tried to keep things realistic and several teams are up against the hard cap so either I had to take that off or make a bunch of wild trades where the star players going to bad teams. For example I have to give new contracts to Bol and Embiid and even if I trade Roco's 15 million for no salary coming back I might not be able to keep both of them. Covington has to much history with me just to give away and he is still a quality player. I have several draft picks so trading them plus a salary guy for a stud in the top 3 didn't seem right either.

Thanks for the nice words your comments really do make a difference and the plan in my head was to with the hawks since they are my real life team, have a clean cap sheet, a boatload of future draft picks, and a few young pieces in place. Then the offseason came and they just butchered it more then I could have ever dreamed with the trade of Trae Young and Lin. A few other early teams I am thinking about are Dallas and the Lakers.

Awww man, I guess I don't feel as bad about the Celtics losing now since this is your final season. I'm cheering for you to go out on top.

And I agree with you about Detroit: Become Human. I'm a big fan of story based games. Heavy Rain was in my Top 3 games last gen and I love most of the TellTale games, as well. I blasted through Detroit during my July 4th "stay-cation" but will probably play through the last half again some time soon because I hated most of my endings.

Anyway, nice job this year. I hate to see you go but I completely understand about taking some time off. I'm definitely going to miss reading your updates when I'm trying to kill time at work but I'll be looking forward to you starting new in 2K19.

Gosh the Celtics and especially Bamba was such a pain he was by far the best big man I played against in 2k18 with his defense. Something with the sim engine or whatever just didn't really allow Boston to every win as much as they should.

I'm playing through Heavy rain again now since its free for ps+ so if anyone hasn't played it yet and has ps+ then go download it tonight before it goes away. It was also easily on my top 5 games in ps3. Detroit so far is my fav ps4 game (even over 2k) and I also want to play it again before 2k19 comes out. I got a mostly happy ending but one major thing went wrong still bugs me. Since if your reading this you likely follow dynasty's for the story aspect of things then Detroit is something you would enjoy. I was able to hold off and drag it out over a week even though it about killed me to not just play it over a weekend. I got the first season of batman telltale when it was free just Detroit was so dang good I will have to wait some time to play it. alright that's the end of my sales pitch to buy Detroit lol

Thanks for all the nice words and for not complaining when I kind of stole some of your ideals with all the pics lol

I will have the first few games of the next series up today

ECF Hawks Game 1 - Hawks Go Old School

The Hawks win game 1 in easily and hold the 76ers to under 90 points. The duo of Ayton and Davis considered the best in the NBA paved the way combining for 44 points and 20 rebounds. Embiid was the high man scoring 19 outside of him nobody scored more then 13 points. The most compelling stat is the Hawks only shooting five 3 pointers and being +12 PIP a stat the 76ers typically win. This has the making of yet another long hard fight series that will go 6 or 7 games.

Tough loss -- AD and Ayton are not going to be easy outs. Incredible how few triples the ATL put out and yet still won convincingly ... that third quarter was miserable for Philly, really crazy.

The 3 big man combos I've played this post season have been just crazy good and that's been the case in just about every playoff series the last several years. Detroit is another team with a PF/C combo that's both around 90 ovr that I've had to play a lot. When I look over the WCF I smile a little bit because its going to be some low hanging fruit if I get the matchup I want.

I simmed game 1 so I didn't play any of that game. If I play most the game no way Bol finishes with that bad of a stat line. The CPU is hit or miss with him if I play most the game he is pretty much a lock for 15 &15. I prefer to jump into games in the 2nd half and not play all the game so that's usually how I play.

ECF Hawks Game 2 - Gotta Hit FT's

The hawks had a 4 point lead at halftime and hung on to a 2 point lead going into the 4th quarter. Ayton picked up his 5th foul with 6 minutes to go and the 76ers now up 5 points.

Schroder would tie the game with a layup with 3:36 remaining. Just 2 minutes later Dennis would hit a 3 so now the Hawks had a 3 point lead with under 2 minutes in the 4th. Dennis would just not go away and with 55 seconds to go converts a old school 3 point play and the 76ers are in serious trouble down 4 points with under 1 minute on the clock. Fultz would get fouled and miss both critical FT's. When the 76ers got the ball back Ben missed a great look at the layup and with just 23 seconds to go that ended the game.

The 76ers didn't shoot well only shooting 27% from 3 while the Hawks shoot 44%. The strength of the Philly team is rebounding and the Hawks out rebounded them by 9 lead by Ayton's 19. The difference in game could have been FT's where the Hawks went 25 of 27 while the 76ers went 22 of 33. Embiid has to get the blame in this one shooting 3 of 14 with only 9 points while being out rebounded by Ayton. Covington also played bad coming off the bench going 2 of 11. The 76ers shouldn't panic despite being down 2-0 the Hawks backcourt played awful and eventually the bigs for Philly will outplay Ayton and AD.

                                OOOOOF.

That was a tough loss, especially seeing how Embiid got punked. Only 9 points? From the SuperStar? That's disappearing in the Finals LeBron style against the Mavs ... that's a tough one to stomach.

Down 2-0, back to back losses on your homefloor, it's put up or shut up time in Game 3. Embiid needs to step up, the team needs to regroup, else they can kiss their season goodbye.
