Re: SimWorld NBA: The Chronicle
Tuesday, December 11th, 2018The Lakres rolling after the return of all-start center DeMarcus Cousins
Max Kellerman on Lakers: I gotta go on record and say that they are one of my favorites to come out of the West. I know it's still relatively early but they are just so deep and that was even before the Boogie came back. They've got a great young coach in Luke Walton, they have promising young players, they now have star power and all they need is time to grow together.
Steve Kerr on Kevin Durant's return: I think we'll start getting a chance to see what we're really gonna look like this season when he returns tomorrow. I mean I think we've played well but we can play better of course and we haven't really had our full compliment of players thus far this season. Steph or KD or someone has always been out, so we'll see & we'll improve.
Paul Pierce talks Cavs: Let's be serious for a minute... who's supposed to be able to be able to beat them when they've gone 21-3 & DeAndre Jordan has only played in 11 games. They're 2nd in the league in scoring behind only Golden State and tops in the league in point allowed. Shooting 48% and are probably the deepest they've ever been. LeBron coasts and they still win by 20. The addition of Kawhi was even bigger than people could have imaged bu mark y words, if Kawhi they somehow manage NOt to win the title, Kawhi will walk & LeBron will be gone soon after.
Brendan Haywood on Blake Griffin trade speculation: If you're Portland, I think you better be doing everything in you're power to get him there. And i'm talking anything short of moving Dame of CJ. The Warriors are playing great but Houston has not looked like a repeat champion yet and the West is wide-open if you think about the fact that Golden State still has to learn how to win clutch games without Draymond when playoff time rolls around.
Jamele Hill on Philly struggles: THonestly, they're not shocking anyone when it comes ot the people in my circles. They have great talent but the decision to start Markelle Fultz instead of doing what got you to the finals last year was flat out dumb in my opinion. Now you move him back to the bench and you may have some chemistry pride issues going forward.Last edited by ronyell; 09-02-2018, 02:29 PM.Comment

NBA Trade Grades: Who won the Pistons-Thunder trade?
by Kevin Pelton, ESPN NBA Analyst
The Pistons and Thunder agreed to a blockbuster trade yesterday, with Detroit agreeing to send forward Blake Griffin to OKC along with Stanley Johnson in exchange for Carmelo Anthony, Patrick Patterson, Andre Roberson, and a first round pick. On the surface, this deal seems even for both sides. Griffin and Anthony are both stars who have had their share of issues in the past. However, due to Anthony's age, the Thunder are giving up more assets in the deal. Where this trade could go awry for Detroit, however, is the rumor that Carmelo is refusing to report to Detroit and is demanding that his contract be bought out. If this happens, the Pistons will likely regret this trade, as it was reported that they were close to acquiring Damian Lillard from Portland in exchange for Griffin. Although Detroit will be able to shed Griffin's contract and gain a first-rounder, without Anthony the team will not have gotten nearly enough of a return on investment, given the price they paid to acquire Griffin from the Los Angeles Clippers. However, the team is getting rid of the 2 years left on Griffin's contract and 3 years on Johnson's in exchange for expiring deals, which will allow the team to rebuild.
The Thunder, on the other hand, definitely come out of this trade in pretty good shape. With Griffin joining Russell Westbrook, OKC will have a high-powered offense. The only question is, how will the ball be shared between the two dynamic scorers?
