Re: SimWorld NBA: The Chronicle
December 26th, 2018
We are now in the Pelicans locker room following the Pelicans big win over The Golden State Warriors with player of the game Anthony Davis.
Reporter: "AD, tonight saw you strap the team to your back and will your team to a 17 point win over the Golden State Warriors. What does this win do for the moral of a team moving down the stretch the closer we get to the half point of the season."
AD: "Well its a big win in a long season, this really just shows us that on any given night that we can compete with the Golden States' the Houston's, and Cleveland's of the league if we put forth the effort that I know this team is capable of doing. We just have to go out and execute."
Reporter: "You also broke the single game record for most rebounds with 25 rebounds. How does it feel to cement yourself in the Pelicans record books?"
AD: "Hell I had 25 rebounds? I mean, the Pelicans have been good to me over the years, I work hard and play harder to get my game to the highest level possible. Records are records and records are meant to be broken. Rebounds are a big part of my game and I'm happy to be at the top of the list."
Reporter: "Golden State threw all types of different matchups against you with you being guarded by Monroe, Bell, and O'Quinn. How did that affect your game if any at all?"
AD: "They all came with different looks, one was tougher on defense the other was harder to guard on defense, to try and make the game harder than me. But I came to play my game and we walked out of here with a W."
Reporter: "Do you believe the game would have came out any different if Kevin Durant could have played?"
AD: "I mean it is unfortunate that Durant couldn't play due to injury, but injuries are a part of the game. You have to take that into account and adjust. We could throw out what ifs all day but the world will never know. Its on to the next game."
Thanks Anthony, congrats on the victory tonight and good luck on the rest of the season.Just a kid from Chicago

Westbrook on historical stretch of triple double in consecutive games: "I'm just playing the game the best way I know how. In takeover mode. If I get a triple double in 82 straight games, it don't matter to me if we don't get the victory its all for nothing. 30-17-20 meant something tonight, but some nights it won't cuz it didn't get us a W. My triple double was great but don't discount what Blake, Steven and the rest of the team accomplished tonight to get this W!"
CJ Mccollum on OT loss to the Jazz: "A coaching change ain't gonna mean sh*t when the effort is piss poor. I played terrible, but who picked up the slack other than Dame. Its getting to a point where the laziness is just toxic around here. OT comes around and guys just hang it up. No excitement from the bench, guys not running thru screens or finishing plays. I shot 1-9 tonight but it didn't kill my effort on the defensive end. Where is that from the rest of the team?"
Brad Stevens on Tatum and Brown blossoming into elite players: "Those two were phenomenal tonight, Jayson extremely efficient tonight 7-9 from the field 23 points. Jaylen Brown scoring 18 of his 20 in the 4th, these guys have just turned it on. It's just a big kudos on how hard they push themselves in practice, in offseason workouts. I know Tatum works with Kobe in the offseason. Jaylen Brown has established a relationship with James Harden and it shows that these guys have put the work in to become elite players!"
Dennis Schroder on the crowd booing him and jeering his name after loss: "I'm at a loss for words, its crazy to see the Atlanta fanbase turn their back on me after I left it all on the court. Basketball is a team game and unless you are LeBron James I'm not winning games strictly on my performance alone. Its defeating. Something has got to change."
Jason Kidd on Luka Doncic's vast improvements and how its helping the Magic improve: "Well Luka has come to me alot for advice and we've worked out together. Luka has one advantage that I didn't, the height. With a 6'7 frame, and high basketball IQ and the vision, he's gonna find people that you didn't even realize were open. Aaron Gordon is reaping the benefit of finally having a ball handler that can get him the ball in any situation. It showed against Toronto, you couldn't stop AG and having Luka as a distributor its possibly gonna lead Gordon to an allstar bid."
DeMarcus Cousins on team's inconsistency: "Inconsistency is the reason why we are 16-15 at the moment. One night we will light the world on fire, the next we jogging down the court and can't hit the sidewalk with a planet. This don't fly in the Western Conference."
Nuggets coach, Mike Malone on 22-9 record: "We knew at the end of last year that we had a tight knit group of guys and something was coming together. From one side of the bench to the other, these guys play team ball. There is no hero ball like they play in certain places in the league. We have an unselfish group of guys and it's showing as we are winning games."
Anthony Davis on defeating the Warriors: "Well its a big win in a long season, this really just shows us that on any given night that we can compete with the Golden States' the Houston's, and Cleveland's of the league if we put forth the effort that I know this team is capable of doing. We just have to go out and execute"
Kevin Love on the Return of the GlassCleaner commercial: "Hahaha, they put together a bunch of my old Minnesota clips and called me missing, and an impostor was posing as "me" in Cleveland, but now in LA, it's the Return of the GlassCleaner like its a Star Wars parody or something. I gotta admit it's funny as hell. But it's just me getting back in my role of being the #1 option. It's truly hard deferring to another person and fitting in a role that only brings out a certain part of your game. I truly missed banging in the paint down low and fighting for physical rebounds and put backs. Yea I still shoot but I've missed that portion of my game. It's just how I play!"Just a kid from Chicago

Stephen A. Smith: Welcome back to First Take. Our next topic; should the Memphis Grizzlies trade Mike Conley?
Max Kellerman: Yeah the Grizz have been struggling ever since the season started, they are just below .500 right now despite Marvin Bagley playing lights out and looking like a superstar already. It might be time to move on from Conley and rebuild around Bagley as the new face of the franchise.
Stephen A. Smith: Well as usual I disagree, the Grizzlies still have a chance to compete and Conley helps them do that. I mean if they trade him, who do they run at the point? Collison is injured right now and besides that, all the Grizz have is some dude named Zhaire Smith. They could always trade for my boy Dennis Schroder, my sources down in the ATL are telling me that he really wants out since he's been getting less playing time.
Max Kellerman: Alright, well that's all the time we have for that. Next up, a trade in the works between Los Angeles and Portland. The deal centers around LA forward Tobias Harris and Portland guard CJ McCollum. Stephen A what are your thoughts on this?
Stephen A. Smith: You know, I kinda like this deal for both sides. Los Angeles could use a guy like McCollum, and we know McCollum has had his share of problems in Portland, as they have been struggling for sure. The Clippers already have Gallo and Love at the 3 and 4 so they don't need Harris, and Portland has been reported to show a lot of interest in him, as Aminu could stand to be upgraded.
Max Kellerman: Speaking of upgrades, the Clippers are currently starting Kent Bazemore at the 2, so McCollum would definitely be a big upgrade. The only thing is though, Portland doesn't have a lot of depth at guard but they do at forward, so it's a curious move by them to trade their starting 2, as this likely means D-Rose will get another shot to start for an NBA team.
Stephen A. Smith: Well we gotta cut to commercial, after the break: How will Sam Darnold do in his 1st playoff appearance?Currently playing:
