Yeah, Kuzma's trade value probably takes a hit this summer since he finishes the year with only 58-games played but it'll be interesting to see Poole and Avdija with increased usages to end the season along with Bilal Coulibaly sliding into the starting lineup to end the year.

Thanks to you both, I always appreciate your guy's comments!

Tyson Lewis is likely staying in school. His player comp right now in the universe is Robert Covington without his 3-Point shooting ability. That player archetype could be a 2nd round pick but there's a risk of being selected just to be signed to a two-way deal or going undrafted altogether. Him going back to school and being able to produce with Holcomb likely off to the NBA would boost him to possible 1st-Round status.

The sim engine in 2k23 and 24 seems to love the Hawks, and it surprises me.

With the Embiid injury, the Celtics can maybe work their way out of the play-in.

And of course Iowa got bounced early. As an Iowa alum, I'm familiar with good regular seasons and disappointing in the tourney.

Haha, I thought of you while writing that bit and I wanted to reverse the outcome, but it made sense for the story and validated the criticisms of Brandon Holcomb as a player for Iowa to lose in the Round 32. It won't happen in the next couple years but I promise to give your Hawkeyes a championship win before it's all said and done!

That's a wrap for season 1 of the Wizards rebuild!

I had a good time putting this together so far but there's a few changes I want to implement as I head into future seasons of the dynasty.

I want to begin implementing beat writers to cover external league and draft coverage / events in order to separate myself as the Wizards GM and the rest of the association. Unlike Marshdaddy, my graphic design skills are lacking so I can't replicate sites like ESPN or The Athletic but as a workaround I began mocking up an "upcoming" sports blog that'll feature one beat writer that'll cover league events and another beat writer that'll cover the draft. If you read any of my Pistons MyLeague from last year, I'll be using some of the names from the players in that universe on those posts.

For now, I still want to keep the Wizard updates the same since it gives an insight on my mindset regarding certain moves rather than changing it to a beat writer "speculating" or "hearing a rumor". A big event such as Kuzma's injury from earlier this season would be covered by the beat writer instead of by me.

Finally, I've been working on adding customized league events to the famous MyLeague Event Simulator to begin having more randomness implemented to the day-to-day of the NBA Season. I think in my league there were 30+ players who played 82-games and multiple 2-Way players who played 1-2 games. I'll need to find the right cadence, but I want to have the simulator decide when teams rest their star players, when a coach puts a player in the doghouse etc.

The next post will be a Play-In Preview before we jump into Playoff action. I'll probably stick to a minimal number of articles for the postseason until more notable create-a-players and/or the Wizards find themselves in the playoffs.
