Re: Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens' Nest
Week 2 Preview
Volume 2, Issue 6
Baltimore Ravens (1-0) @ New Orleans Saints (0-1)
New Orleans Saints
Aaron Brooks: 12-25, 97 yards
Deuce McAllister: 22 carries, 69 yards
Joe Horn: 2 receptions, 22 yards
Courtney Watson: 10 tackles
Mike McKenzie: 9 tackles
Ravens' Keys to the Game
1. I like Reggie Bush's chances against their D-line. Let's play some smash mouth football.
2. We need to keep a body on Charles Grant at all times. Let's get him exhausted by the 4th quarter.
3. Get the ball out quickly. Darren Howard will be wreaking havoc on the line.
Key Matchups
1. Jonathan Ogden vs. Charles Grant
2. Chris McAlister vs. Joe Horn
3. Orlando Brown vs. Darren Howard
Week 2 AFC North Matchups
Falcons(1-0) @ Steelers (1-0)- The most exciting player in the game--Michael Vick--takes one of the best stonewalling defense at Heinz Field.
Panthers (0-1) @ Browns (1-0)- With Matt Leinart and Braylon Edwards leading the offense, the Browns are set to shoot off some fireworks this year. The D is still questionable though.
Bengals (0-1) @ Chargers (0-1)- The Chargers are still trying to recover from last year's heartbreak, and look to bounce back from a stale opening loss.
Game of the Week
Patriots (1-0) @ Jets (1-0)- The Jets once again are looking to pry the AFC East away from their rivals. This is the first step in doing so.
Monday Night Football
Giants (1-0) @ Buccaneers (0-1)- Why THIS is Monday Night Football...I dunno.Last edited by Psyblast; 08-27-2005, 06:07 PM.Comment

Ravens let up, Saints roar back to stun champs
NEW ORLEANS, LA--Things seemed bad when the Ravens fell behind 14-0.
Things then seemed under control when the Ravens went on a 24-0 tear to lead by 10.
But the defense uncharacteristically relented, and the Saints stunned Baltimore with a late TD to beat the champs, 28-24.
Omar Jacobs continued to impress, going 14-32 for 191 yards and 3 passing TDs again, and no turnovers. Reggie Bush has yet to find his NFL feet, as he was held to 55 yards on 16 carries. He did catch 3 passes and scored his first TD. Mark Clayton and Muhsin Muhammad each had 4 receptions, Clayton gaining 77 yards and Muhammad with 74 and a TD.
Aaron Brooks managed the game efficiently, goin 15-26 for 150 yards and 2 TDs and a pick. Deuce McAllister tore the Ravens vaunted defense apart, carrying 29 times for 177 yards and a pair of TDs on the ground. Quincy Morgan caught four passes for 47 yards and the winning TD late in the game.
Ray Lewis continued to show why he's still the best, forcing two fumbles to go with his 13 tackles. Chris McAlister had 8 tackles, and the youngster Dan Cody had 5 tackles and a sack. Defensive end Adewale Ogunleye had an INT that he nearly returned for a TD.
Courtney Watson and Keon Jackson each had 6 tackles, with Watson also adding a sack. Fred Thomas had 5 tackles and a forced fumble that sparked New Orleans' comeback.
The Ravens clash with another awesome defense next week, taking on the Carolina Panthers on the road.
