            Ravens sign Quincy Carter

BALTIMORE, MD- Desperate times call for desperate measures.

After spewing venom about struggling QBs Kyle Boller and Anthony Wright, Ravens' GM Brian Kudron announced the signing of former Cowboy Quincy Carter to a one year, 1.75 million dollar deal.

Carter was cut loose by the Cowboys before last season after failing a drug test. He hs 32 career TDs and 37 INTs.

He will start immediately vs. Green Bay.

                Week 15 Preview
                Volume 1, Issue 33

Green Bay Packers (9-4) @ Baltimore Ravens (8-5)

                Green Bay Packers
Brett Favre: 3024 yards, 23 TD, 13 INT
                Ahman Green: 371 yards, 1605 yards, 16 TD; 59 receptions, 534 yards, 3 TD
Javon Walker: 77 receptions, 1011 yards, 13 TD
Nick Barnett: 96 tackles, 6 sacks, INT
Grady Jackson: 37 tackles, 8 sacks
Mark Roman: 32 tackles, 3 INT

                Ravens' Keys to the Game

                1. Stop Ahman Green and force their offense to be one dimensional. Keep them in long-yardage situations.

                2. Lets let our "big uglies" wear down their defensive line. We could run all day if that happens.

                3. The problem with Nick Barnett is that he can get to the ballcarrier quickly on every play. If we keep him in coverage, we have a shot.

                Key Matchups
                1. Chris McAlister vs. Javon Walker
                2. Ray Lewis vs. Ahman Green
                3. Jonathan Ogden vs. Kabeer Baja-Biamila

                Week 15 AFC North Matchups

Steelers (6-7) @ Vikings (11-2)- The Steelers' hopes are fading fast as teams ahead of them continue to win. The Vikings can put the nail in their coffin before travelling to Baltimore to face the Ravens next week.

Browns (6-7) @ Raiders (2-11)- It looks like the Browns will come up just short of the playoffs, but they're not dead yet, and the Raiders are a disgrace.

Bengals (8-5) @ Lions (5-8)- The Bengals lead the AFC North via tiebreaker vs. Baltimore, and they look to put the pressure on the Ravens by beating the Lions.

                Game of the Week

Chargers (11-2) @ Colts (11-2)- Two of the hottests in football face off; the Colts have won 9 in a row, and the Chargers 6. With the Patriots' loss last week, the winner of this game will be in the #1 spot for the moment.

Ravens' D overwhelms Favre on Monday Night

BALTIMORE, MD- While Quincy Carter's debut as a Raven went well, it was once again the defense that shined for Baltimore.

Wearing their black alternate uniforms, the Ravens' defense cast a dark shadow over Brett Favre, intercepting him five times as Baltimore blew Green Bay out, 34-3.

Quincy Carter had his bad moments but overall he was servicable, going 11-26 for 242 yards with 3 TDs and a pair of interceptions. Jamal Lewis again dominated as he aims for 2000 yards again, carrying 33 times for 182 yards and a TD. Koren Robinson had 3 catches for 67 yards and 2 TDs, and Mark Clayton caught 3 for 55 yards.

Favre was 15-36 passing for 117 yards and the five INTs, a 10.8 rating. Invigorated, the Ravens' defense clamped down on Ahman Green, holding him to 32 yards. Donald Driver caught 6 passes for 60 yards.

Ray Lewis actually had an off night with only 8 tackles. Adalius Thomas had 7 tackles and a sack. Ed Reed ruled the night, registering 6 tackles, a pair of INTs and a fumble recovery en route to winning the Horse Trailer Player of the Game award. Tommy Polley, Samari Rolle and Chris McAlister each had an INT.

Ahmad Carroll led Green Bay with 9 tackles, followed by 8 from Nick Barnett and 7 from Al Harris. The Packers had 3 sacks, one each from Grady Jackson, Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila, and Aaron Kampman. Harris and Earl Little each had an interception.

The Ravens are back in front of the Bengals in the AFC North at 9-5, and face their stiffest test yet as the NFC's top team record-wise, the Minnesota Vikings, visit Baltimore next week in Primetime.

                        Ravens' Keys to the Game

                        1. One of the most dangerous guys we'll face on defense today is Darren Sharper. He is great in coverage and can intimidate our receivers.

                        2. I say we go right at Antoine Winfield. Make him prove that he's as good as the experts say he is.

                        3. Pat Williams could cause some problems for us on the D-line. We need to double him to be successful.

                        Week 16 AFC North Matchups

Bills (4-10) @ Bengals (8-6)- After a 7-2 start, the Bengals have lost 4 of 5, and if they lose and the Ravens win, they lose the AFC North.

Steelers (6-8) @ Browns (6-8)- Things are all but over for both teams in regards to the playoffs, but it's still a fierce rivalry.

                        Monday Night Football

Patriots (11-3) @ Jets (7-7)- This game is huge for both teams, as the Patriots will give the #1 seed in the AFC to the Colts, and the Jets are still just a game out from the Wildcard.

Jamal runs into the history books as Ravens win Sunday Night shootout

BALTIMORE, MD- Motivated by resentment towards the front office, Jamal Lewis has produced one of the greatest seasons of all time for a running back.

Two years after running for 2066 yards, 39 yards short of Eric Dickerson's single season record, the Ravens' HB went insane on Minnesota, running for 241 yards on only 22 carries and scored 2 TDs. He now sits at 2109 yards on the year, FOUR more than Dickerson's record set in 1984. He actually broke the record doing what he does best: smashing through a tackle (after having his helmet torn off) and scoring a TD to clinch the Ravens' 46-29 win over Minnesota.

The crowd erupted in applause and love for Jamal, who has returned from a rough offseason to rewrite the record books.

Jamal's performance overshadowed an amazing game that saw the Ravens outscore the Vikings 22-0 in the fourth quarter after Daunte Culpepper carved them up for the first three.

Quincy Carter was 14-27 passing for 221 yards with 3 TDs and an INT in his second game with the Ravens. Mark Clayton caught 7 passes for 107 yards and a TD, and Derrick Mason caught five for 75 yards and two TDs.

Culpepper was 17-37 passing for 254 yards and 2 scores, with a late INT. Moe Williams carried the ball 24 times for 76 yards and a TD. Nate Burleson had five receptions for 74 yards and both of Culpepper's TDs. Troy Williamson added four catches for 66 yards.

Striving to lead the NFL in tackles, Ray Lewis racked up 14 stops, along with a sack. Tommy Polley had 6 tackles and an interception, Ed Reed and Chris McAlister each had 5 tackles, and Terrell Suggs had two quarterback sacks.

Sam Cowart and Darren Sharper each had 7 tackles for the 12-3 Vikings. Brian Williams had 6 tackles, and Corey Chavous had 5 and an INT off a tipped pass. Kenechi Udeze had Minnesota's only sack.

The race for the AFC North title comes down to the final week. The Ravens will win the North with either a win or a Bengals loss, while the Bengals need a win AND a Ravens loss. The Ravens' final game is at Cleveland against the rival Browns.

                                Ravens' Keys to the Game

                                1. Reuben Droughns is one of the best in the NFL. We have to punish him every down.

                                2. Use misdirection and counters to offset an aggressive Andra Davis.

                                3. Lets let our "big uglies" wear down their defensive line. We could run all day if that happens.

                                Week 17 AFC North Matchups

Lions (6-9) @ Steelers (7-8)- Bitter disappointment for both teams, who came into the season with high expectations. Both teams have fizzled this year.

Bengals (9-6) @ Chiefs (10-5) (MNF and Game of the Week)- HUGE implications for both teams. The Bengals can still win the North with a win and a Ravens' loss, and the Chiefs can still win the West with a win and Chargers' loss. The winner clinches a playoff berth, and the loser could still get in with help.
