    The Ravens' Nest
    Week Two Preview
    Volume 1, Issue 6

    Ravens' Keys to the Game

    1. Steve McNair has to be pressured. Maybe then we can force him to make mistakes.

    2. I like Jamal Lewis's chances against their defensive line. Let's play some smash mouth football.

    3. We're going to have to keep Keith Bulluck occupied. Our gameplan should be to expose him in coverage, using a lot of play action to keep him off guard.

    Key Matchups
    1. Jamal Lewis vs. Keith Bulluck
    2. Derrick Mason vs. Adam Jones

    Week Two AFC North Matchups

Vikings (0-1) @ Bengals (1-0)- The Bengals look to continue their return to respectability with a fast start vs. Minnesota.

Steelers (0-1) @ Texans (0-1)- The Steelers have already matched last year's loss total, and the Texans are a team on the rise.

Browns (0-1) @ Packers (1-0)- Even though the Browns' receivers can take advantage of Green Bay's secondary, it's hard to see the Packers losing to Cleveland at home.

    Game of the Week

Patriots (1-0) @ Panthers (1-0)- In a rematch of Super Bowl XXXVIII, the Panthers seek vengeance.

    Monday Night Football

Redskins (1-0) @ Cowboys (0-1)- The old rivalry is renewed. No love lost here.

Ravens rally in the fourth; Stover's FG sinks Titans

NASHVILLE, TN- Is that really Kyle Boller at QB for the Ravens?

The third year signal caller was efficient for the second straight game to start the season, leading the Ravens to a 24-21 come from behind win over the Titans, culminating in Matt Stover's 50 yard FG at the gun.

Boller was 23-34 for 305 yards. He did throw an INT however. Jamal Lewis carried the ball 29 times for 107 yards and a pair of TDs. Derrick Mason and Mark Clayton each had seven receptions, with Mason having 86 yards and Clayton 88. Koren Robinson broke into the Ravens' lineup with 5 receptions for 76 yards.

Steve McNair was 8-14 passing for 143 yards and a TD for the Titans. Travis Henry carried the ball only 13 times, scoring a TD and gaining 103 yards. He added 66 yards on a signal reception. Drew Bennett caught a TD and had four receptions for 39 yards.

Ray Lewis once again led the Ravens in tackles with 7. The Ravens registered five sacks as a team, all from only two players, as Anthony Weaver had 3, and Adalius Thomas had a pair.

Rookie CB Adam Jones had 11 tackles for Tennessee. OLB Peter Sirmon had 8 tackles and a pair of sacks. DT Antwan Odom had 7 stops and a sack, and new Titan Jason Gildon had 5 and a sack. FS Lamont Thompson had a touchdown on a 39 yard interception return.

The Ravens have their bye week next week, before hosting the New York Jets.

                  Week 4 Preview
                  Volume 1, Issue 9

New York Jets (2-1) @ Baltimore Ravens (2-0)

                  New York Jets
Chad Pennington: 419 yards, 3 TD, 5 INT
Curtis Martin: 77 carries, 376 yards, TD
Laveranues Coles: 11 receptions, 120 yards, TD
                  Jonathan Vilma: 27 tackles, sack
Shaun Ellis: 18 tackles, 2 sacks
Ty Law: 14 tackles, 2 interceptions

                  Ravens' Keys to the Game

                  1. The focus all week in practice and for this game is QB Chad Pennington. We have to confuse him by mixing up our coverages and sending the house at him.

                  2. Stop Curtis Martin and force their offense to be one dimensional. Keep them in long-yardage situations.

                  3. I say we go right at Ty Law. Make him prove that he's as good as the experts say he is.

                  Key Matchups
                  1. Derrick Mason vs. Ty Law
                  2. Jamal Lewis vs. Jonathan Vilma
                  3. Chris McAlister vs. Laveranues Coles

                  Week 4 AFC North Matchups

Texans (0-2) @ Bengals (2-1)- Two of the up and coming teams in the league clash in Cincinnati.

                  Game of the Week

Chargers (3-0) @ Patriots (3-0)- The two-time reigning champions face last year's surprise team and this year's contender, the Chargers.

                  Monday Night Football

Packers (3-0) @ Panthers (1-2)-The Panthers are considered Super Bowl contenders, but a 1-3 start is not the way to start off.

Boller shows 2004 form in 17-10 debacle

BALTIMORE, MD- It was just too good to be true, wasn't it?!

Kyle Boller of 2004 showed up--and the Ravens' offense sputtered in a 17-10 home loss to the New York Jets.

Boller was a meager 16-36, good for 160 yards. He threw no TDs, and was intercepted 3 times, one that was a New York TD, and another in the endzone, taking points off the board for the Ravens. Jamal Lewis did have 112 yards on 19 carries, with a 76 yard TD. Todd Heap caught 6 passes for 80 yards, and Derrick Mason had 5 for only 48 yards.

Chad Pennington was much better, going 12-22 for 127 yards and a TD, with no interceptions. That's two straight games without a turnover by the Ravens' defense. Curtis Martin had 56 yards rushing. Justin McCareins caught five receptions for 85 yards.

Ray Lewis was once again all over the field for Baltimore, getting 12 tackles. Fellow Linebackers Tommy Polley and Adalius Thomas had 7 and 6, respectively. The Ravens also failed to register a sack.

Ty Law led the Jets with 9 tackles, followed by 8 from Jonathan Vilma, who also had a sack. CB David Barrett had 5 tackles and a pair of INTs.

The Ravens look to bounce back next week, taking on the Lions at the site of Super Bowl XL, Ford Field in Detroit.

I don't think you should use the word debaucle in relation to a 17-10 loss.

                            Ravens' Keys to the Game

                            1. Dre Bly cuts our field in half. Focus on the other corner and use the slot receiver.

                            2. Bring Shaun Rogers upfield on passing plays. Then throw a screen where he should be.

                            3. Obviously our #1 concern is Kevin Jones. We must shut him down in this game.

                            1. Derrick Mason vs. Dre Bly
                            2. Offensive Line vs. James Hall and Shaun Rogers

                            Week 5 AFC North Matchups

Bears (0-3) @ Browns (0-3)- Both teams are off to a terrible start. The terrible start will continue for one of them.

Bengals (3-1) @ Jaguars (3-1)- One of these teams will shine in primetime on Sunday Night.

Steelers (1-2) @ Chargers (3-1)- The Steelers want to stop their slump, but it will be hard as they take on the class of the AFC West on Monday Night Football.

                            Game of the Week

Patriots (4-0) @ Falcons (2-2)- The Falcons are only 2-2, but Michael Vick against the Patriots' defense makes this the game to watch this week.
