          First Half

          Thompson and Stanton trade layups and after Young sinks a layup and a jumper, Topercer drains a hook and Stanton puts in a layup. Thompson ends the Navy run by making 1 of 2 free throws then after Thompson nails a runner, Thompson cans two more free throws. Topercer buries a hook to give the Midshipmen a 12-7 lead with less than 15:00 remaining. Bey sinks a short jumper and after Young hits a 3pter and a layup, Thompson drills a 3pter. Bey coverts a 3-point play then after English puts in a layup, Viegas tips in a rebound. After Topercer drains a jumper, Viegas lays in a rebound to put Army to within a bucket, 21-19, at the halfway point of the first half. Harris puts in a layup and a turnaround jumper then English makes 1 of 2 free throws and banks in a couple of layups.                         First Half

                        Ford sinks a hook then after May slams in a dunk on a fast break, Bellairs and Jacobson trade jumpers. Ford and Thompson trade jumpers then Jacobson makes two free throws to pull Army to within a bucket, 8-6, with 15:00 remaining. May banks in a jumper and a layup and after Thompson sinks a jumper, Bellairs tips in a rebound. Goodman cans a jumper from the top of the key to pull the Black Knights to within four, 14-10, halfway through the first half. Jacobson makes two free throws then after Keister drains a runner, Jacobson buries a jumper and Thompson hits a 3pter to give Army the lead. Bellairs slams in a dunk and after Jacobson nails a turnaround jumper, May slams in a dunk on a fast break to give Holy Cross the lead, 20-19, with 5:00 left. Walcott makes a pair of free throws then after Richard sinks a turnaround jumper, Thompson hits a jumper, a layup and a 3pter on a one-man 7-0 run. With less than a minute to go, Meister buries a jumper to pull the Crusaders to within four at the half. Army's Thompson leads all scorers with 14 points and May leads Holy Cross with 8.

                        Second Half
                        Jacobson and Thompson bury jumpers then after Walcott makes two free throws, Bellairs and Bey trade layups. Ford sinks a short turnaround jumper to put Holy Cross to within four, 34-30, with 15:00 remaining. Freedman and Thompson trade jumpers and after Ford swishes a hook, Bey makes 1 of 2 free throws. Keister and Thompson trade layups then Richard cans two free throws and Jacobson drops in a layup to give Army a seven point lead, 43-36, at the midway point of the second half. Jacobson makes two free throws and after he banks in a layup and a jumper, Keister banks in a hook. George puts in a couple of layups and Zastoupil drains a runner as the Black Knights increase their lead to 17, 55-38, with just under 5:00 left. Zastoupil sinks a jumper then after Ferris and Freedman trade layups, Freedman lays in a rebound. Bellairs cans a short jumper and May drains a 3pter then George buries a 3pter with about a minute to go to provide Army with the 15 point margin.

                              Thanks.

                              The defense, plus Thompson, seems to have picked it up a notch as this team continues to roll. Some of these games have been nerve-racking to watch. I'm even yelling and screaming at the TV set while the game is in progress.

                                Hardaway hits a 3pter and after Bey sinks a short turnaround jumper, Akingbala banks in a layup. Waters makes two free throws then after Bey buries a hook, Grant drops in a layup. Thompson drills a 3pter and after Hardaway cans 1 of 2 free throws, Bey banks in a short jumper and Goodman puts in a layup to give Army an 11-10 lead with just under 15:00 remaining. Thompson makes two free throws then he buries a 3pter and converts a 3-point play. Goodman and Jacobson each put in layups as the Black Knights are on a 16-0 run and increase their lead to 13, 23-10, at the halfway point of the opening half. Gruber drains a runner and a layup then after Bey swishes a short jumper, Viegas cans a hook and Jacobson makes two free throws. Akingbala banks in a layup to put American within 13, 29-16, with 5:00 left. Akingbala puts in a layup and after he and Bey trade jumpers, Waters and Bey trade layups. Akingbala sinks a turnaround jumper and Hardaway makes 1 of 2 free throws to pull the Eagles to within eight points at the half. Army's Bey leads all scorers with 12 points and Akingbala leads American with 8.

                                Second Half
                                Jacobson sinks a jumper and after Grant hits a 3pter, Bey cans a hook. Akingbala banks in a couple of layups then Munir puts in a layup and a 3pter to tie the game, 37-37, with 15:00 remaining. Akingbala banks in a layup then after Zastoupil lays in a rebound to tie the game, Grant drains a runner to give American the lead. Waters drops in a layup and Hardaway makes two free throws then Jacobson nails a jumper to pull Army to within four, 45-41, midway through the second half. Viegas puts in a layup and after Jones banks in a jumper, Thompson hits a 3pter. After Holden makes two free throws, Koszuta banks in a hook to pull the Black Knights to within one, 49-48, with 4:30 left. The lead changes hands twice as Norwood and Parkinson trade jumpers. Norwood tips in a rebound to give Army the lead then Zastoupil drops in a turnaround jumper with 40 seconds to go. Akingbala sinks a hook with 25.7 seconds to play and the Eagles start fouling and end up sending Goodman to the line. Goodman only makes the front end of the 1-and-1 and with 18.3 seconds on the clock, American brings the ball up trailing by a bucket. The Eagles turn the ball over as Akingbala is called for 3 seconds in the key with 2.1 seconds in regulation. The ball is inbounded by the Black Knights and heaved towards the other end and the game is over.
