      Carolina almost does the improbable

      Game Summary
Looking at a boxscore that included total yards and first down you would think the Tar Heels dominated this game. However, the Virginia Tech defense came up with several big plays and the VT offense provided just enough for the win. Carolina gave it everything they had, but turnovers did them in. Fr. QB T.J. Yates struggled against the talented defense of the Hokies throwing 4 INTs and he was sacked 5 times. *3/4 were user bad throws. The other one was a great play by Vince Hall. No cheating whatsoever so I'm cool with it.*

Freshman running back Anthony Elzy further solidified his case as being the starter for UNC with 149 rushing yards and a TD. Richie Rich missed this game due to an achilles injury, and he will miss at least 1 more game. When he returns he may be the #2 guy.

This game went down to the wire as UNC held a 21-17 lead going into the 4th quarter as they were trying for the upset. Tech would go ahead 24-21 with 4:26 left and after a couple punts UNC would tie it up on a FG by Connor Barth. The UNC defense gave up a big pass play that gave the Hokies a chance for the GW FG, and it was knocked through from 43 yards out.

UNC QB T.J. Yates struggled against the talented Hokie defense.

Every yard Brandon Ore gained was tough, but in the end it was worth it as the Hokies prevailed.

In this video the Heels were up 14-7 looking to extend the lead. Well Macho Harris had something to say about that. What a stupid pass!

*For anyone following this, just let me know what team you want to follow in this dynasty and I'll post what they do in my dynasty*

Stewaat's Notre Dame Fighting Irish (4-1)
Despite Mark May and his comments the Irish are now 4-1 on the season after blowing out Purdue 34-7 on the road. Jimmy Clausen continues to struggle with a 5 INT day, which neglects his 3 TDs. Defense must be playing awesome.

Super James' #5 WVU Mountaineers (5-0)
WVU used a steady diet of Steve Slaton to down the USF Bulls 35-14. Slaton had 195 total yards and 2 TDs.

Turnovers do in Carolina for 2nd straight week

        Game Summary
Well Carolina committed several turnovers in this game to another good defense and they came away with the same result, a loss. Miami intercepted four passes and forced a few fumbles, recovering one. UNC managed two turnovers of their own, but the early 16-0 deficit was too much to overcome.

Redshirt Freshman T.J. Yates was pulled in the second quarter after throwing two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown. He looked shaky and his starting job is in jeopardy. It was confirmed after the game he will get to start against South Carolina next week, so we'll see how he reacts to this adversity.

Mike Paulus, the highly recruited freshman QB for UNC came in and played pretty well. He threw for a couple touchdowns and a couple interceptions, but he looked pretty good. It's not easy to get your first taste of action against Miami.

The Canes were able to pass the ball effectively and put some points on the board early. They used their defense to hold off UNC at the end and improved to 4-2 on the season.

UNC is going to have to protect the football! Nine turnovers the past two games, even though against great defenses, is unacceptable!

Here's Hakeem Nicks pulling in that really tough TD grab.

Miami HB Javarris James was kept pretty quiet but he broke a long TD run that gave Miami momentum.

After T.J. Yates tossed two picks in the first half true freshman Mike Paulus entered the game and found Hakeem Nicks on this awesome play.

        Recruiting Notes
The Heels are bringing in their top 3 recruits for the South Carolina game. No recruits have signed up to this point.

        Heisman Watch
        1. Jr. HB Steve Slaton, West Virginia -- 132 car, 809 yds, 6.1 avg, 16 TD -- 18 rec, 174 yds, 9.6 avg, 1 TD

        2. So* HB P.J. Hill, Wisconsin -- 134 car, 877 yds, 6.5 avg, 10 TD -- 6 rec, 162 yds, 27.0 avg, 3 TD

        3. Sr. HB Mike Hart, Michigan -- 100 car, 694 yds, 6.9 avg, 6 TD -- 19 rec, 363 yds, 19.1 avg, 3 TD

        4. So* QB Colt McCoy, Texas -- 98-158, 1,385 yds, 15 TD, 2 INT -- 64 car, 258 yds, 4.0 avg, 4 TD

        5. Jr* WR Mario Urrutia, Louisville -- 48 rec, 492 yds, 10.2 avg, 9 TD

*For anyone following this, just let me know what team you want to follow in this dynasty and I'll post what they do in my dynasty*

Stewaat's Notre Dame Fighting Irish (4-2)
The Irish dropped a tough one at #12 UCLA 24-31, and UCLA improves to 6-0 on the season.

Super James' #3 WVU Mountaineers (6-0)
The Mountaineers are eyeing a shot at the National Championship as they get closer to the top two. Steve Slaton continues to tear it up as he accounted for all 6 WVU TDs in their 47-10 victory over Syracuse. He had 136 total yards with 5 rushing TDs and a receiving TD.

Due to EA Sports World being down at the moment I'm just doing a little double-dip for you folks.

So I've got 3 big games left in the season.
            @ NC State (6-3)
            @ Georgia Tech (6-3)
vs. Dookie Pukie Who's Your Daddy Battier (1-8)

Looks like 1 out of 3 is very possible which means the Heels should go bowling this year.

Super James your WVU squad is 8-0 but they dropped to #7 for some reason. They have their make or break game coming up against #7 Louisville (9-0). Should be a good one.

My Notre Dame squad got embarrassed by USC 52-10 but they rebounded to beat Navy. They are 6-3 and have 3 very winnable games left. They are #23 in the country, which is very surprising. I really hope they do this in real life!

Re: UNC Tar Heels (NCAA 2008)

Alright well I'm gonna skimp on this recap. No setup but I'll have the full one for the next 2 games.

I crushed rival N.C. State 49-9. I know that score is crazy but I played a pretty much flawless game. Anthony Elzy had 244 yards rushing on 28 carries! He had 2 touchdowns run and also caught a 22-yard TD. He was simply unstoppable. Best rushing game I've ever had. I feel like he wasn't touched until he gained 5 yards.

NC State was up 3-0 but they threw an INT early and UNC CB Tavorris Jolly took it back for the TD. After that it was a snowball effect.

                  Here are some stats.

Total Offense: UNC 458, NCSt 256
                  Rushes - Yards: UNC 39-279, NCSt 22-49
                  Comp - Att - Yards: UNC 12-16-1, NCSt 14-25-0
                  3rd Downs: UNC (9-11), NCSt (2-9)
Turnovers: UNC (1-INT), NCSt (3-Fumble & 2 INT...2nd INT was a long overthrow in desperation time)

My defense has been playing AMAZING the past two games, allowing 7 field goals and 0 TD's! It's not really anything but limiting big plays and coming up huge on 3rd downs. It's been a lot of fun.

Cam Sexton has been starting at QB for me and hey, he's the most mobile (82 spd) and he is the most veteran (Sophomore). He hasn't been great but we've won, so I'll stick with him for the rest of this season.

I'll update the Georgia Tech game tonight, gotta go play it.

Carolina tops GT in OT 34-31

Georgia Tech kicker Travis Bell is probably on suicide watch after this game. He missed two very big field goals. The first was at the end of regulation for the win and he missed a field goal on GT's first and only OT possession.

                    Heisman Race

                    1. Jr. Steve Slaton, HB, West Virginia
                    2. So. P.J. Hill, HB, Wisconsin
                    3. Sr. Mike Hart, HB, Michigan
                    4. Sr. Colt Brennan, QB, Hawaii
                    5. So. Colt McCoy, QB, Texas

In the BCS standings USC (10-0) is #1 and Wisconsin (12-0) is #2. Wisconsin in the national title game! What?

*For anyone following this, just let me know what team you want to follow in this dynasty and I'll post what they do in my dynasty*

                    Stewaat's #23 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (8-3)
They might be one of the biggest surprises in all of football. They are looking to crack the top 20 with a win against Stanford. Jimmy Clausen is doing alright completing just over 50% of his passes with a 25-21 TD-INT ratio.

Super James' #4 WVU Mountaineers (10-0)
An undefeated season sounds very possible for the Mountaineers. Steve Slaton is dominating. He had 211 yards on 21 carries against Cincinnati last game. Slaton has 1,560 rushing yards and 24 rush TDs on the season.

P.S. I'm slated to face Toledo (7-4) in the Music City Bowl.

                    ACC Standings:
                    1. Virginia Tech (11-0)
                    2. Florida St. (9-2)
                    3. Wake Forest (9-2)
                    4. Georgia Tech (7-4)
                    5. Miami (7-4)
                    6. UNC! (7-4)
                    7. Boston College (5-6)
                    8. NC State (5-6)
                    9. Clemson (5-6)
                    10. Virginia (5-6)
                    11. Maryland (3-8)
                    12. Duke (1-10)...soon to be 1-11!

I have no idea what happened to my Duke game. I could've sworn I posted it here. Oh well I crushed them, they stink. 44-28 I believe.

Polls, award winners, Heisman, and other stuff will be up a little later.

Yea I really feel like I overachieved this year anyways. It's going to be a tough act to follow for next year. Fortunately I don't lose too many impact players. Mainly SS Trimane Goddard and DE Hilee Taylor are going to be missed.

They embarrassed the Wisconsin Badgers 41-8. Wisky had 159 yards of total offense and only 6 first downs. USC had 556 total yards of offense, including 222 rushing and 334 passing. They had 26 first downs and completely outclassed Wisconsin. Wisconsin led 8-7 in the 1st after going for the 2-pt conversion for some reason. I guess they realized they were in desperation mode from the get-go. Anyways, USC dominates the college football world, weird.
