My bad. I thought they beat Wake in the 1st round last season and then you played them in the 2nd. Anyway, glad you're back with this. I'm definitely following again. Reading this has me fired up to go home and start up a new legacy tonight. LOL

Hoyas bow out with a whimper
Georgetown's toughness is shredded by Louisville's athleticism

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Perhaps the most telling play of the Midwest Regional Semifinal between Big East rivals Georgetown and Louisville happened about midway through the second half.

DaJuan Summers, Georgetown's 6'8 beast of a small forward was galloping down the court after a steal, prepared for one of his signature thunder dunks.

And yet at the last instant, Edgar Sosa, the diminutive 6'1 point guard for Louisville, slipped in and swiped the ball out cleanly just as Summers got liftoff for his dunk. The end result: Summers hanging on the rim empty-handed and bewildered as Sosa raced back down the court for the Cardinals.

That pretty much summed things up, as Louisville exploded out of the gates and quickly put the Hoyas away, 69-43. Terrence Williams terrorized GU, and Summers in particular. Summers finished 1-6 from the field for two points, while Williams put a triple-double on the board with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Earl Clark and Derrick Caracter were the beneficiaries of Williams' playmaking, going a combined 15-22 from the field.

For Georgetown, the season can't be viewed as a failure, posting a 26-8 record after losing cornerstones like Roy Hibbert and Jonathan Wallace. Still, brutally embarrassing losses to Connecticut (twice), Pittsburgh, Louisville (twice) and Syracuse points toward a crippling combination of youth and lack of athleticism for the D.C. kids. Jessie Sapp is the only senior, and provided there are no early entries, the youngsters on this team should be well-groomed for next year, and with blue chip prospects J.S. Desilos and J.R. Givens coming in next year, the level of athleticism in the nation's capital should definitely increase as well.

Wow, tough loss to Louisville. T-Will went the triple-double route on you. Also crazy to see Thabeet go triple-double in the National Championship game. Big East reigns supreme after all, but hopefully next year will be Georgetown's time to cut down the nets.
