All four teams have something to prove at this year's Final Four

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The four regional champions this year have all been to recent Final Fours. And all have experienced disappointment. Georgetown reached the 2007 Final Four before losing in the Semifinal to Ohio State. Duke and Memphis both reached the 2008 Final Four; the Blue Devils lost to UCLA in the Semifinal, and the Tigers lost the Championship Game to the Bruins two nights later. USC was the national runner-up a year ago in Detroit, staging a dramatic second half comeback before falling to Hasheem Thabeet and Connecticut.

This time, the agony will continue for three of these teams, while one will get the monkey off its back and cut down the nets.

For Georgetown, this has been the goal all season. After losing only one senior from a year ago and bringing in star freshmen J.R. Givens and J.S. Desilos, the thought of another exit before the Final Four was unacceptable, and the Hoyas played like it, winning their first 26 games against teams like Oklahoma, Maryland, Texas A&M, Kansas, Gonzaga, Louisville, Villanova, Syracuse and Duke. They went 3-2 down the stretch, losing at UConn and to Syracuse in the Big East Tournament without Domonic Braxton, but their body of work was more than enough to get the #1 overall seed.

Duke has been equally as dominant as Georgetown, evident by the two teams' battle for #1 throughout the entire season. Aside from a fluke slipup at South Florida, the Blue Devils were not tested, going 23-1 before being narrowly defeated in the classic showdown with the Hoyas at the Verizon Center in February. Since that loss, they have picked up right where they left off, winning 14 games in a row, completing a perfect ACC season, winning the ACC Tournament, and approaching the NCAA record for wins in a season. At 37-2, one more win will set that mark.

For USC, last year's Cinderella run to the title game left them hungry and determined, and despite a pedestrian 7-2 start to their season, the Trojans revved their engines once conference play started, losing only to Arizona until the Pac-10 Championship Game, where they were ambushed by a three-point barage by the Oregon Ducks. At 33-4, this is the Trojans' most successful season ever, and the memory of last year's run coming up just short is sure to fuel them against Georgetown in the Semifinal.

And then, there's Memphis. The enigmatic Tigers of Conference USA have proven once again that the apparent weakness of their conference is not a hinderance in March. For the fifth year in a row, the Tigers are the regular season and conference tournament champions, and their only two losses on the season were early season stumbles at Ole Miss and at Vanderbilt. The Tigers also caught some luck, as they were placed in the "Midwest" Regional in Nashville. The Sommet Center served as a home away from home, as legions of Memphis fans packed the place to watch their Tigers dispatch Maryland and Michigan State to reach their second Final Four in three years.
