Are you sure Brett didn't decide to come back

Crabtree is beast. You'll be better this year.

                    Game Recap:
This was a horrible game in more ways than one...I benched Matt Schaub at halftime because he was getting nothing going the offense was sputtering under his control, backup qb Sage Rosenfels has pretty close to the same stats as Schaub but he wass pressing trying to make something happen when there was nothing there(Schaub-7/17 131yrds 1Td 2Int)(Rosenfels-18/33 249yrds 1Td 2Int)...part of the reason for the struggle was slaton could get nothing working 15 rushing yards on 9attempts so i was forced to pass the ball more and my qbs are really equipped to pass alot...Andre Johnson lost again in the battle of the best WR's in the AFC to Reggie Wayne(Johnson-6rec 130yrds)...the star of the game for the Texans was slot receiver Chris Henry he had 6rec for 108yrds and the only 2Tds the Texans could muster...Rookie wide receiver Michael Crabtree had an impressive showing in his first regualr season game, 7rec 93yrds...Demeco Ryans was the only member of the Texans defense to record a sack...2nd year cornerback Antwaun Molden is going to have to step up big in the coming weeks but we will get to that later, Molden intercepted Mannings only mistake...

                    *****INJURY REPORT*****
                    CB-Dunta Robinson-strained back-5 weeks
                    CB-Mike Mickens-torn shoulder-10 weeks
                    ********************************
Both of these injuries hurt the Texans alot Dunta Robinson was the best cornerback the Texans had and rookie Mike Mickens had a very impressive preseasonas as the 3rd cornerback picking off 3 passes...

                    Current Cornerbacks:
                    Fred Bennett(87)
                    Antwaun Molden(73)
                    Jacques Reeves(77)

The best options on the free agent market to add depth are:
                    Jason Webster-79
                    Shawntae Spencer-79
                    Charles Gordon-77

Re: Houston Texans: Turning them into a Champion (madden 09)

To breath some new life into the running game i released Chris Brown and signed troubled Cedric Benson to a 1 year deal as a tryout, if Slaton or Dayne struggle Benson will get his shot.

And anybody wondering why i drafted Michael Crabtree after resigning Chris Henry was because of two reasons.
                      1. I could spin chris henry to another team to get a player to replace an injured player like a cornerback or...
                      2. Just have really awesome receivers for matt schaub/sage rosenfels.

also i forgot to mention the notable preseason injuries:
                      QB-Derek Anderson-severe concussion-out for season

                        Game Recap:
After the horrible preformance against the Colts the Texans and Matt Schaub bounced back big time...The Texans trio of excellent receivers showed up big time with the afore mentioned Johnson, rookie Michael Crabtree 8rec 104yrds 3Td, and Chris Henry 9rec 92yrds...Defensive we were ok we pressured the quarterback into making mistakes but never got any sacks...David Garrad threw 4ints 2 interceptions to Jacques Reeves and 2 to Fred Bennett, Reeves also returned one of his interceptions for a 39yrd touchdown...my running game is still in the offseason Slaton, Dayne, and Benson combined for 32yrds rushing on 22att but did have 2Tds 1 by Dayne and 1 by Benson... Slaton did have quite possible the biggest play in the game, we were down 14-7 facing 3rd and 10 and Matt Schaub hit Steve Slaton over the middle for a 21yrd gain and that play pretty much got the offense going after that drive which we scored on and tied the game we never looked back...

**before the game i signed CB-Charles Gordon(77) to a 1year deal to add depth to a depeleted secondary with the injuries to Dunta Robinson and rookie Mike Mickens.

                        Next Game: Patriots(1-1) @ Texans (1-1)
                        Injury report: Patriots-ss Otis Wiley-bruised thigh-probable, cb-terrence wheatly-broken collarbone-4 weeks...Texans-cb dunta robinson-strained back-3 weeks left, cb-mike mickens-torn shoulder-8 weeks left

                          Game Recap:
This game was about the quarterbacks and Tom Brady outshined Matt Schaub(19/20 257yrds 2Tds)...the texans running game never got started slaton and dayne combined for 15 yrds on 22carries) The real story of the season so far for the Texans is the improved play of Matt Schaub and the immediate impact of rookie wide receiver Michael Crabtree he is doing awesome and opening things up for Andre Johnson...Mario Williams and Amobi Okoye each had a sack and Linebacker Morlon Greenwood added an interception...The Texans will look to rebound next week against the Jets...another thing that concerns me is that the probowl defensive line isnt really doing much so far but it is early in the season so i will give it some time...also i need to get the running game going some how, maybe i need to move Slaton back to the change of pace/3rd down back and let Ron Dayne start...

The Texans dominanted this game until the 4th quarter when the Jets put up a couple scores and made the score look respectable...Matt Schaub continues to play nicely which is a good thing cause after last seasons 30 interceptions and the horrid start against the Colts i was thinking replacing him but he has earned to keep his starting role...defensively Mario Williams, Travis Johnson and Anthony Weaver each had a sack...Morlon Greenwood also had an interception the only one of the game...Michael Crabtree had 6rec for 31yrds and 1Td...wide receiver Kevin Walter added 4rec 43yrds and 1Td...
