Re: The Official Jason Skyland BAP Thread

It was amazing enough to actually be drafted, but then to be called Wayne Gretzky’s Next One, and being ranked number 1 for the rankings. Things couldn’t get any better. I just noticed that my father had left me a message on my cell phone. It was maybe the best message I’ve ever gotten, it said that the Penguins expected me to be called up very quickly, I hoped I can be up to the big team quickly.

Re: The Official Jason Skyland BAP Thread

The time went by quickly and I was getting more and more excited. My mother had been crying more lately. Must be because I’m leaving in a couple days. It makes me sad to have to leave my hometown, but it’s for the best. In my last game of high school hockey, my ex-girlfriend Danielle had found a new boyfriend, Joe. He was the alternate captain. It was the last game and she was in attendance. Whenever he touched the puck, she would go crazy. So to tick her off I made a deal with the other team’s captain. We were good friends, so I told them to, whenever Joe touched the puck, slam him. We ended up winning the game a stunning 55-0. I, amazingly, scored all 55. At the end, with the whole entire school in attendance, I got a standing ovation, as they lifted my number 9 into the rafters. I was the first high school student in Ottawa to get their number lifted. I got gifts from all my teammates and other captains. I stepped off the ice, fully prepared for the upcoming years.

Re: The Official Jason Skyland BAP Thread

It was about time for me to board the plane, actually I had to leave school early. It was probably my last day at that school. We had an assembly about me leaving, it was kind of weird to have a full days assembly about you, gets you lots of attention. Many people, which I couldn’t believe, were sad, even a couple people started to cry. Man you think I died or something. Lots of people gave me small parting gifts to remember them bye. They then raised my jersey in the gym, it was an amazing ceremony. As I was walking up to my locker, passing Danielle and Joe kissing, I saw this girl with about 4 other girls. She was my friend from maybe the 5th grade. We kind of seperated from being friend in the 9th grade, where I started as the “phenom”. We decided to hang out a lot more, when I’m back in Ottawa sometimes. It will be hard since I’ll probably be in the AMERICAN hockey league.

The game was about to start and I was pumped, even at one point I was skipping around the dressing room. The goaltender David Brown actually had to sit me down to get me to stop. I stepped out onto the ice to see many cheering faces. The game was about to begin and I was playing with our captain. In the beginning none of us could score.

The Worchester Sharks put on a hard challedge. But we came back and scored first to put us up 1-0. The Sharks doubled their chances, but Brown was way too solid to let a puck past him.

I then went right into the rush, beat both defencemen, and scored top shelf to get my first goal as the Wilkes-Barre Scraton Penguin. It looked like Brown would get a shutout in his first game but the Sharks managed to acquire 1 goal late in the third.

We managed to win the game 2-1 and I was named the first star of the game. David was quite happy on his performance and so was the team. We hoped our luck would carry on to the next game and beyond.

Wilkes-Barre Scraton Penguins @ Philadelphia Phantoms

It was us against them. The Philadelphia Phantoms were the affiltrate to the Philadelphia Flyers, the team I hated the most! I was focused on beating them.

I ended up getting in the first of three fights. I knew I would get in a scrum or two but I never knew I'd actually try and get in a fight.

I got very aggrivated at the refs and the crowd. I got in a good 5 penalties maybe 4. To tell you the truth, I had the worst game I'd ever have. It wasn't better on the scoreboard either.

The Phantoms started off strong, scoring 2 goals early in the game. It was late in the third and not only David and I were getting frustrated but our whole team were getting angry.

Then hope started to shine when we finally put the puck in the net. Then....we were back in the game when David Gove tied it up only seconds later.

It went over to Overtime and I was ready to try and lead my team to victory. Neither team could score but I was a little glad to see we haven't lost yet.

It went to the shootout...player vs goalie....1 on 1. I went second for our team but couldn't bring home the win as the Phantoms won the game in thr shootout.

In the dressing room, I was really depressed about our first lost but now I knew what I had to do to lead my team to victory.
