Raptors lose a close one against Elite Kings...

    @

Tonight, two of the most exciting teams go head-to-head. Each team representing their conference, these are two of the elite teams in the league, which earned a Sportscenter Showcase!

Toronto looked in control most of the first half. Vince Carter caught fire and scored 19 points in the first half. Vince shot over people, drove around people for dunks, set up teammates, and grabbed rebounds. Vince Carter WAS the Toronto offense.

The Kings didn't go quietly, however. Chris Webber was what Vince Carter was to Toronto this game: In control. Webber finished the game with 29 points and 16 rebounds.

The Kings led the first half, 53-50.

The second half was an extremely different story. Toronto didn't score ANY points for the first 5:34 of the 3rd quarter. Vince lost his shot, but he wasn't aggressive going to the basket. Near the end of the 3rd quarter, Vince Carter went back to the drawing board, and made his way to the basket.

The Raptors came from all the way down, to lead the game 83-80 with 3 minutes left. Slowly and surely, they let the lead slip. With the score 98-94, Aaron McKie hit a 3 pointer with 11 seconds left, but it was a little too late. The Kings win this close one, 100-97. The Raptors are now 0-3 on this Western Conference road trip, with LAC and Phoenix next up before it's over.

    Mike Bibby - 18 points, 5 assist, 4 steals
    Chris Webber - 29 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assist
    Keon Clark - 10 rebounds
    Doug Christie - 11 points, 6 assist

    Vince Carter - 33 points
    Aaron McKie - 14 points, 7 assist
    Moochie Norris - 18 points, 8 assist.

        Raptors get Clipped in Hollywood...

        @

Tonight the surging Clippers stay at home to host the ailing Raptors. The Raptors come into this game losing 3 straight on their current Western Conference road swing.

The Raptors played well in the first quarter, as the Clippers didn't play half as well. Carter took this team by the horns and the Raptors scored from the perimeter and led 29-16 at the end of the first stanza.

By the end of the first half, the Clippers caught up, and they went into the half on a run, behind Keyon Dooling's exciting, crowd-pleasing slam over Raja Bell. The Raptors ran into a few problems of their own, as Moochie Norris suffered a day-to-day wrist injury.

The game went back and forth during the 2nd half, but the Clippers would come on top. Vince Carter finished with 29 points, but in the forth he failed to put his team on top, by missing too many 'gimme's'. Olowakandi and Brand beat up the Raptors in the low block, which was the key factor for the game to start with. Clippers win 99-92.

        Andre Miller - 8 assist, 4 steals
        Michael Olowakandi - 11 points, 18 rebounds
        Elton Brand - 20 points, 17 rebounds, 5 assist

        Vince Carter - 29 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assist
        Eddie Griffin - 23 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assist
        Walt Williams - 14 points

            Dang.. Four game losing streak..

Hope your team can get out of this current funk and regroup.. Although it will be tough without a force down low like AD..

            Good Luck

Raps come out of West Swing Winless...

                @

The Raptors play the last game of their Western Conference swing against the Phoenix Suns. Currently, the Raps haven't won a game against any of the teams they've played on this swing, inlucding Denver. Toronto hoped things would change tonight.

Eddie Griffin had one of the best games of his season, and maybe his career. He scored 31 points and didn't miss a shot ALL GAME (14/14, 1/1 3 pointers) and grabbed 7 rebounds. Other than Eddie Griffin more-than-notable game, Vince had a horrible game to say the least. He only scored 12 points, and shot 4/24.

Meanwhile, the Suns came back from 23 down in the 4th quarter and held a lead until the end of the game. The Raptors get disappointed in a loss against Phoenix, 98-93.

                Eddie Griffin - 31 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assist
                Vince Carter - 12 points, 5 rebounds
                Moochie Norris - 2 points, 2 assist
                Jelani McCoy - 12 points, 11 rebounds

                Shawn Marion - 38 points, 15 rebounds
                Anfernee Hardaway - 24 points, 8 assist
                Bo Outlaw - 9 points, 11 rebounds
