Both teams come into tonights game with 3-game win streaks, and one of those streaks will be snapped tonight. The last time these two teams played, Baron Davis had limited minutes due to a bum knee. Frank Miller got the start for the Hornets tonight, and Baron Davis came off the pine.
The Raptors changed up their starting 5 for tonights game, as well. Instead of Moochie Norris starting at point guard, Aaron McKie slides to the 1 and Walt "The Wizard" Williams steps in as the 2-guard. This was done because of the Hornets tremendous size they can put on the floor.
This game starting close. Neither team broke out, and both teams were just waiting to find a shooting streak to ride. Vince Carter started out slow, and Jamal Mashburn took control in the 2nd quarter. At the end of the first half, the Raptors lead, however, 56-49.
The second half was ALL Toronto. Earlier this year, Toronto has had a problem with holding on to a lead, or closing out games, when everything is in favor for them. This is because Vince Carter will get hot, and nobody else will do anything. Things were certainly different tonight. Not only did Vince Carter have an outstanding 44 points (32 in the 2nd half), Walt Williams ran point guard, due to Moochie's bum ankle, and contributed a notly 15 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assist. During the last two minutes of the game, Toronto made sure New Orleans wouldn't score, and Toronto closes out this game, winning 118-108.
