                  Billick Flies the Coop!
In a stunning turn of events, Coach Brian Billick has decided to end his tenure as the Ravens coach, opting instead to go to the Buffalo Bills for the '04 season. When asked about his decision, Billick said "I've had a great run with these guys. They got me my first Superbowl in the 00-01 season, and we just missed it this past year. I just felt that I needed a change of scenery." When asked if his recent tiff with owner Art Modell had any influence in his decision, Billick replied "Mr. Modell has been nothing but wonderful to me. He gave me my first head coaching job in the NFL. But I realized that the direction and plan I had for this team did not mesh from that of the front office." Billick ended his press conference by saying "The Baltimore fans need not worry about their team. They have a great core of players in Ray [Lewis], Todd [Heap], Jamal [Lewis], Terrell [Suggs], and Kyle [Boller]. These guys will succeed under any head coach. I wish them nothing but the best. Maybe we'll see each other next year in the AFC championship."

Ravens hire new Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator
"Maybe lightning can strike twice" was what the Ravens front office must have been thinking when they hired the Vikings Offensive coordinator S. Linehan as their new head coach. The terms of the deal was for 3.57 million for 3 years. Baltimore fans will recall that their recently departed head coach was also a Vikings OC before he was hired during the 99-00 season. In a prepared statement, Linehan said "I am greatful to Mr. Modell for hiring me as the new Ravens head coach. I understand the brief, but rich tradition of the Ravens and the anticipation of the Baltimore fans to build on last season. I know that I've been hired to replace Mr. Billick, but I'm not here to overthrow what he has done here in this football team. I hope to take what he has established, and build upon that to hopefully bring another championship back to the city of Baltimore."
In a related news, the Ravens have hired the Seahawks OC to a 2 year 1.27 million dollar deal to be the Ravens new OC this year.

                              M&T Bank Stadium no more!
M&T Bank, the official sponsor of the stadium decided not to renew their contract with the Ravens this year. Ravens Public Relations spokesperson Andrea Hull said that it was a "..mutual decision between the Ravens and M&T Bank." However, it did not take long for the Ravens to find a new sponsor for the rights to the stadium name. The new sponsor will be "Rocket Riders," an engineering firm based in Rockville, Maryland will buy the rights to the name for 2 years as well as pay the Ravens 1.7 million dollars each season if they win 8 games or make the playoffs.

The Ravens also hired a new training staff, South side gurus to a 3 year 2.42 million dollar deal. They have the reputation for being the best rehabilitation center in the Mid-Atlantic.
