1st Quarter
The game started on a high note for the visiting Ravens as Gary Baxter picked off a Tommy Maddox pass in the opening drive by the Steelers. The Ravens would turn that interception into 7 points as they drove 30 yards with Todd Heap hauling in a 5 yard TD pass from Kyle Boller. Several possessions later, the Steelers had 1st and goal on the 8 yard line when Maddox dropped back and THREW AN INTERCEPTION to Chris McAlister which he ran back 98 yards for a TD (14-0 Ravens).
2nd Quarter
The Ravens opened up this quarter with a solid 9 play 50 yard drive which led to a Matt Stover 28 yard field goal (17-0 Ravens). Things were looking great for the Ravens until a 66 and 7 yard passes to Plaxico Burress later, the Steelers were on the board 17-7. On the Ravens next possession, Jason Gildon stepped in front of a Kyle Boller pass and picked it off, returning it 57 yards for a TD (17-14 Ravens).
3rd Quarter
The third quarter would see the Ravens finally put everything together on offense. Their first drive would go 11 plays for 71 yards and Jamal Lewis would score on a 1 yard pitchout (24-14 Ravens). In the next Steelers possession, Maddox would be picked off again by McAlister only to see Jamal Lewis fumble the ball away again. The quarter ended with the Steelers driving.
4th Quarter
Fortunately, the drive stalled on the Ravens 45 and they would punt. Ravens would get the ball back, and on a huge 50 yard reception by Marcus Robinson, the Ravens extended their lead to 31-14. Matt Stover's 43 yard field goal would further extend the Ravens lead to 34-14. It became 41-14 after an Ed Reed fumble recovery was returned 12 yards for a TD. A final Matt Stover field goal extended the lead to 44-14. The Steelers would try to mount a mini-comeback with Maddox hooking up with Burress again on a long 60 yard bomb to bring the score to 44-21, but it proved to be too little too late, as the Ravens would run out the clock to seal the victory.

Temp: 22 degrees
1st Quarter
Fairly solid defensive stands by both teams early on. No one was close to scoring until Jamal Lewis fumbled the ball and the Chiefs recovered on the Ravens 39. A 13 yard pass from Trent Green to Johnnie Morton put the Chiefs on top 7-0. In the closing seconds of the first quarter, Kyle Boller was picked off by Shawn Barber to give the Chiefs great field position.
2nd Quarter
After the interception, the Chiefs could only muster a 38 yard field goal by Morten Andersen to put the Chiefs up 10-0. On the ensuing Ravens possession, a huge 69 yard pass from Boller to Heap put the Ravens on the board (10-7 Chiefs). Heap caught the ball 8 yards down and 2 broken tackles and a stiff arm later, was behind the secondary for the most exciting catch and run by a Ravens this year! Zastudil lined up for the kickoff and it looked good. The Chiefs Dante Hall took the ball to the 16 and HIT... FUMBLE!!! The Ravens Bernardo Harris picked up the loose ball and TOUCHDOWN to put the Ravens up.... no wait. Coach Vermiel challenges the call... the ruling... IT'S REVERSED! NO FUMBLE!! What a huge turn of events. The Chiefs caught their collective breaths after this, took it 54 yards downfield and Morten Anderson hit a 41 yard field goal to put the Chiefs up 13-7. Before the quarter would end, the two teams would trade field goals. So the score after 2 quarters was Chiefs ahead 16-10.
3rd Quarter
Several minutes into the quarter, Trent Green was hit from behind and fumbled the ball right into Corey Fuller's hands, and he took it back 34 yards for the score (17-16 Ravens). Several possessions later, the Ravens padded their lead with a Matt Stover 47 yard field goal (20-16). Finally, in the closing minutes of the quarter, Boller connected with Todd Heap on a 26 yard pass to put the Ravens up 27-16.
4th Quarter
The quarter opened with a nice drive by the Chiefs that led to Morten Anderson's 36 yard field goal to bring the Chiefs a bit closer, 27-19. On the next drive by the Ravens, one of the strangest plays occured this year. Boller dropped back and connected with Todd Heap on a nice 10 yard route only to see Heap fumble the ball! Fortunately, no Chiefs player was around but the Ravens Travis Taylor was right there to pick it up and run the rest of the 49 yards into the endzone! TOUCHDOWN RAVENS (34-19). After a 3 and out by the Chiefs, the Ravens had the ball and were going along for a nice drive... when Boller's pass is picked off by Dexter McCleon and returned 71 yards for a huge TD, and their subsequent 2 point coversion worked (34-27)!!!!!!!!! Only 2 minutes remain and the Ravens would get the ball back on the ensuing kick off. Inexcusibly, the Ravens go 3 and out and punt the ball back to the Chiefs. The Chiefs take this opportunity and drive the ball 56 yards on 9 plays taking 1:33 off the clock to tie the score at 34 all!!!! The fans at Ravens nation is stunned! With less than 30 seconds left on the clock, the Ravens hope to win the coin toss in OT and hope to win like their other two OT games during the regular season. Morten Anderson is back to kick... a nice kick a yard into the endzone... Lamont Brightful takes it out!!!! What is he doing? He should have just taken a knee! 10. 15. 20. Hit! FUMBLE!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! Chiefs recover!!!!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!! The Ravens are out of time outs, and the Chiefs can win the game on a field goal attempt!!!! Alas, Morten Anderson hits his 5th field goal of the game, to win it for the Chiefs in dramatic fasion... 37-34 Chiefs are AFC Champions!

In the closing seconds of the first quarter, Kyle Boller was picked off by Shawn Barber to give the Chiefs great field position.
2nd Quarter
After the interception, the Chiefs could only muster a 38 yard field goal by Morten Andersen to put the Chiefs up 10-0. On the ensuing Ravens possession, a huge 69 yard pass from Boller to Heap put the Ravens on the board (10-7 Chiefs). Heap caught the ball 8 yards down and 2 broken tackles and a stiff arm later, was behind the secondary for the most exciting catch and run by a Ravens this year! Zastudil lined up for the kickoff and it looked good. The Chiefs Dante Hall took the ball to the 16 and HIT... FUMBLE!!! The Ravens Bernardo Harris picked up the loose ball and TOUCHDOWN to put the Ravens up.... no wait. Coach Vermiel challenges the call... the ruling... IT'S REVERSED! NO FUMBLE!! What a huge turn of events. The Chiefs caught their collective breaths after this, took it 54 yards downfield and Morten Anderson hit a 41 yard field goal to put the Chiefs up 13-7. Before the quarter would end, the two teams would trade field goals. So the score after 2 quarters was Chiefs ahead 16-10.
3rd Quarter
Several minutes into the quarter, Trent Green was hit from behind and fumbled the ball right into Corey Fuller's hands, and he took it back 34 yards for the score (17-16 Ravens). Several possessions later, the Ravens padded their lead with a Matt Stover 47 yard field goal (20-16). Finally, in the closing minutes of the quarter, Boller connected with Todd Heap on a 26 yard pass to put the Ravens up 27-16.
4th Quarter
The quarter opened with a nice drive by the Chiefs that led to Morten Anderson's 36 yard field goal to bring the Chiefs a bit closer, 27-19. On the next drive by the Ravens, one of the strangest plays occured this year. Boller dropped back and connected with Todd Heap on a nice 10 yard route only to see Heap fumble the ball! Fortunately, no Chiefs player was around but the Ravens Travis Taylor was right there to pick it up and run the rest of the 49 yards into the endzone! TOUCHDOWN RAVENS (34-19). After a 3 and out by the Chiefs, the Ravens had the ball and were going along for a nice drive... when Boller's pass is picked off by Dexter McCleon and returned 71 yards for a huge TD, and their subsequent 2 point coversion worked (34-27)!!!!!!!!! Only 2 minutes remain and the Ravens would get the ball back on the ensuing kick off. Inexcusibly, the Ravens go 3 and out and punt the ball back to the Chiefs. The Chiefs take this opportunity and drive the ball 56 yards on 9 plays taking 1:33 off the clock to tie the score at 34 all!!!! The fans at Ravens nation is stunned! With less than 30 seconds left on the clock, the Ravens hope to win the coin toss in OT and hope to win like their other two OT games during the regular season. Morten Anderson is back to kick... a nice kick a yard into the endzone... Lamont Brightful takes it out!!!! What is he doing? He should have just taken a knee! 10. 15. 20. Hit! FUMBLE!!!!!!!!!!
