                  FIU Victimizes Canisius

The FIU Golden Panthers let the Golden Griffins slip into a false sense of security with them being down only three points to the clearly better opposition. But in the second half the Panthers let the flood gates open and even busted up a few more on their way to a fifteen point victory.

"We played our asses off in the second half," said Panthers head coach Andrew Meredith.

Trace Hunt didn't start and only played in the final minute of play due to an undisclosed illness.

Otis Wadood had another stellar performance and another double double with tweleve points and twleleve rebounds to go along with it.

The Panthers now improve their record to 10-1 on the season. Their next game will be on the road in confrence action as the take on North Texas who is also a surprising 10-1 on the season.

Panthers:10-1(2-0) First Place in the Sun Belt Conference.

I Know I said it was north Texas but I missed this game so...

Denver, CO.(AP) The Florida International Golden Panthers imoproved to 11-1 on the season and a perfect 3-0 in conference play on the year with a 57-51 victory tonight over the now 11-3 Dever Pioneers.

"We played real good out there tonight," said Guard Allen Powell

These thoughts were echoed once again by their very outspoken head coach Mr. Andrew Meredith

"We came through when we needed too, they(Denver) went on a 9-0 run late and got it to within three with 45 seconds left but we finished strong and that's why we're 11-1 and that's why they aren't 12-2, because we're better then them and that's all there is to it,"

Noticeably absent from tonight's game was Trace Hunt, he wasn't on the bench and when Andrew Meredith was prompted this question he responded to reporters like this.

"no comment," "Oh wait did I say no comment I meant f*ck you"

Tonights Panther Pizza award winner was Nate Jackson. Jackson had fourteen point and missed a double double by a rebound as he had nine.

The Panthers next game will continue the midwest road swing with a trip to north texas.
