Poll Update The Golden Panthers are still in the others recieveing votes category in both the ESPN and Press polls, and on some not as good news they fell out of the top 25 in the RPI rankings but are still noted as being one of the top teams in the rpi who didn't quite crack the top 25 list.

Recruiting Update Bernie Joesph will be attending the Florida International University Golden Panthers next home game which will be this coming Saturday in conference action as they take on Middle Tennesee State.

Joesph is a 6'10, 210 pound High School Senior Center who is scouted as being an all around talent who can also play the 3 or the 4.

"He's versitile(in the positions he plays,)"said head coach Andrew Meredtih, "And if he committs here he could really help us out especially if one of our guys goes down during key periods in the year."

Panthers prove that Florida is better then Tennesee, at least the middle of it anyway

Miami, FLA(AP) With interested recruit Bernie Joesph making the long trip all the way from Munchie, In. The Panthers knew they had to impress in their confrerence game against Middle Tennesee State and they wound up doing just that.

The Panthers opened up an early 26-5 lead in the first half and that would be a lead that would grow to 37 at one point as the Panthers cruised to a 32 point victory by a score of 74-42.

"We got the fast break going early and that carried us to victory," Said Andrew Meredith.

Top performers on the night for the Panthers included Allen Powell who had 18 points in the victory.

"They've got a really good style of play," said Bernie Joesph "It really fits my style by we'll see where the chips fall and that's where I'll be headed.

Another big performer on the night was the returning Ken Thomas. Thomas had sixteen points and five rebounds in his first game back from a strained Achiles which kept him out of action for three weeks.

"We tested it during warm ups," said Andrew Meredtih "And he was good to go."

Both teams struggled early on in the game but caught fire towards the end of the half and it remained that way until the end of the game with the Panthers going on a late flurry to secure the win.

"We play good under pressure what can I say,"Said Head Coach Andrew Meredith.

With the victory the Panthers improve to a combined record of 17-1 with a conference record of 9-0.

The Panther Pizza award winner for the night was Otis Wadood who didn't come up with his regular double double but picked up some key rebounds late in the game.
