Looking good, definitely a great read.

Have you played every game yourself?

No, I played every game up until the start of July. Then I started just playing my games against above .500 teams.

    Yankees at Toronto Game #160
Another great pitching matchup. Mussina vs. Halladay. An uneventful game except for 3 hits. Josh Phelps went deep in the 2nd to give the Blue Jays a 1-0 lead. Derek Jeter than tied the game in the 4th with a solo shot. Alex Rodriguez went deep to dead center in the top of the 7th to give the Yankees a 2-1 lead. Karsay, Gordon, and Rivera pitched hitless innings to finish the game, and the Yankees won again.

Boston was knocked off by Baltimore, so with 2 games remaining for both teams, the Red Sox have a one game division lead. Magic number stays at 2 for Boston.

Re: Yankees-Red Sox Rivalry Continues (MVP)

Jose Contreras got rocked in his final start of the season, and the Yankees lost 9-4. This coupled with a Red Sox win clinched the division for Boston, and the wildcard for New York. The Yankees finished 103-59 on the year.

      The playoffs matchups are:
      Yankees vs. Royals
      Red Sox vs. Mariners
      Braves vs. Cardinals
      Astros vs. Diamondbacks

            Royals at Yankees Game 1
            Brown vs. Astencio

The young Royals team did not seem fazed by playing their first playoff game in the Bronx. Thanks to 2 Juan Gonzalez RBI doubles, the Royals jumped out to an early 2-0 lead. In the top of the 5th, that lead was cut in half thanks to an Arod homerun. Then in the 7th, the Yankees rallied and tied the game on an Arod double. Travis Lee than doubled in Arod to put the Yankees ahead 3-2, which was followed by an RBI bloop single by Posada. Gordon came on and pitched a perfect 8th, and Mariano Rivera shut the door in the 9th to give the Yankees a 1-0 series lead.

            W Brown (1-0)
            L Astencio (0-1)
            S Rivera (1)

            Other series:
            Red Sox lead Mariners 1-0
            Cardinals lead Braves 1-0
            Astros lead Diamondbacks 1-0

                              May vs. Vazquez

Vazquez was hit hard early in this one giving up 4 runs in the 2nd. In the 4th Arod cut the deficet in half with a 2 run homer. Juan Gonzalez would answer in the bottom of the inning with a solo shot that was just high enough to clear the left center field fence to make it 5-2. In the 8th, Bernie Williams hit a solo shot to cut the lead to 5-3. A few batters later, with 2 outs Giambi had an RBI bloop single making it 5-4. With runners on 1st and 2nd Matsui lined a base hit into right field. Sojo waved Arod home, but the potential tying run was gunned down by Juan Gonzalez. That would be the Yankees last chance, as they went down 1-2-3 in the 9th and the Royals stayed alive.
