With the injury (strained back) of Sean Burroughs, Ryan Klesko will move to 3B, and Terrence Long plays in the outfield. Rey Ordonez plays SS for Khalil Greene and Tom Wilson is behind the plate for the struggling Ramon Hernendez.

Arizona got off to an early 2-0 lead started with a leadoff double by Steve Finely. At the bottom of that inning, Phil Nevin smashes a HR (2). Boomer didnt continue to struggle, and kept the deficit at 2-1. The Padres rallied back in the 7th inning to score another run, and go into extras tied at 2. Linebrink came into the game and gave up a 2-out, 2-run shot to Richie Sexson. Another run would eventually score, and the Padres lose their 4th straight, 5-2

          W - Mantei (1-0)
          L - Linebrink (0-1)

          Sexson 2-5, 2-r HR (2)
          Hillenbrand 3-5, 2B
          Bautista 2-4, run

          Nevin 1-4 HR (2)
          Long 2-4, run, 2B
          Loretta 2-4, 2 2B, E(throw)
          Wells 8 IP, 2 ER, 4 K

He got hurt too, and I'll have to check to see what his ailment is. Whatever it is, it's not worth putting him on the DL

No stats for this game, but we lost our 5th straight. Randy Johnson pitched a 5-hit shutout, and the D'Backs win the game 5-0
