Carolina Panthers at New York Jets 1995 Week 07 1ST 2ND 3RD 4TH SCORE Carolina Panthers (2-8) 0 10 7 10 27 New York Jets 14 0 7 11 32
Favre Outduels Miller;
Favre threw a career high five touchdowns
in the victory against the Rams.
Pack Win 4th Straight
By Dan Witherspoon
-------------------------
With the bye week looming and the hopeless Rams (1-5) playing hosts to the Packers (5-2), and with the Packers defense now missing their two most important players, this seemed like an epitome of a trap game. Quarterback Brett Favre would not let that happen.
Favre torched the Rams secondary in this game, throwing for 337 yards and a career high five touchdown passes in a 35-32 nail biter. Halfback Edgar Bennett returned to the lineup after missing the past three weeks with an injury and didn't disappoint, hauling in two touchdown passes from Favre and rushing for 66 yards as he kept the Rams on their toes. Bennett's and Leven's work on the ground would eventually pay dividends, as Favre was able to successfully fake the Rams on a playaction pass to receiver Robert Brooks for a 49 yard touchdown pass near the end of the fourth quarter to give the Packers an 11 point lead.
Safety Mark Prior-"Number Four definitely bailed us out today. We are going to need to play better with the games we have coming up. Luckily, we were able to make a few plays that were instrumental in us pulling out the win. The bye week couldn't have come at a better time."
For the Rams, it was another disappointing loss as they were able to play Green Bay yard for yard and point for point through most of the game. Quarterback Chris Miller threw for 329 yards and three touchdowns, but was sacked on a crucial third down play by middle linebacker Fred Strickland and was picked off by cornerback Doug Evans on the following drive in the fourth quarter, allowing Green Bay to wind a lot of the clock down. The Rams were also successful in exploiting the Packers weak run defense, as backup halfback Leonard Russell rushed for 113 yards on 20 carries. Miller would find third string halfback Greg Robinson for a one yard touchdown late in the fourth quarter and converted the two point conversion to bring the score to 3 points. However, Packers fullback William Henderson would recover the onside kick attempt to seal the game for the Green Bay.
With the bye week next week, the Packers can enjoy some much needed time off before they travel to Minnesota in two weeks to take on the Vikings (3-3).

First Pitch - Marlins Preview
By Jeff Todd July 31, 2013 at 8:07am EST
Marlins look to complete 2nd straight sweep in finale against Tigers: Miami can secure a series sweep over Detroit with a win.
The Tigers are 9-16 on their home turf. The Detroit pitching staff owns a team ERA of 5.02, Spencer Turnbull paces the staff with a mark of 2.68.
The Marlins are 6-14 on the road. Miami has slugged .320, last in the majors. Neil Walker leads the club with a .427 slugging percentage, including 11 extra-base hits. The Marlins won the last meeting 6-3. Jose Urena recorded his second victory and Brian Anderson went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs for Miami. Buck Farmer took his third loss for Detroit.
Detroit Tigers - Earning Our Stripes
MLB: The Show 20 on PS4 Franchise
I have been itching to post a dynasty report for a little while now. Basketball is my favorite sport to follow, but NBA 2K20 never lived up to expectations for me. With all the tuning and broken gameplay, it made it impossible for me to enjoy an offline experience, let alone the franchise mode. That's where The Show comes in...
I haven't touched a baseball game in over two years, but this year I got the itch and haven't looked back! My aim is to take the Tigers from a cellar dweller back to a powerhouse club in just a few seasons time and get a ring in the process before Miggy retires. This team definitely has it's work cut out for them - I'm excited.
I don't have nearly as much time as I used to, so I was bummed to learn that we can't adjust the season length down from 162 games.
With that said, I'll be doing a mix of playing and simming/managing games in order to help speed along the process and that should allow me to get through multiple seasons in order to hopefully achieve the goal of bringing a World Series title to Detroit.
I'm going to be playing one and simming five... that way I get a chance to play with each starter an even amount over the course of the season.
I'll be aiming to post two games per week with some articles, game previews, and simmed-game recaps sprinkled in between.
As always, comments, likes, thread votes, feedback, and all the other types of engagement is MUCH appreciated!
Let's go!
Detroit Tigers - Roster Breakdown
Projected 2020 Depth Chart and Lineup
The future is bright, but the present leaves a lot to be desired: Not much stands out about this team. On the surface, it seems like we'll be lucky to have more than one .260-plus average hitters - and maybe if we're lucky we can crack 50 homers between our two new pickups in the 4- and 5-spot, CJ Cron and Jonathan Schoop.
Our best player is still Miguel Cabrera, which probably isn't a good thing... He's approaching 40 fairly quickly, so he probably won't be able to handle the rigors of a full season. Still, he has a chance to anchor the team as the leader and will be a catalyst in the development of the club.
On the hill, we're led by Matthew Boyd, who is a true number one starter - at least on most teams he would be. This is going to be a big year for him to climb into that ace territory, as he's not quite there just yet.
Michael Fulmer is another one of our top pitchers, but he suffered through Tommy John surgery last March and we won't be seeing him until later in the season if we're lucky. Not totally sure how he'll bounce back, so this one is up in the air.
Closing out games will be Joe Jimenez. He's a nice, young piece and I'm excited to see him develop.
Our farm system is loaded with talent. Pitchers Matt Manning, Casey Mize, and Tarik Skubal are all top-60 prospects and expected to make their debuts in 2020.
On the other side, Riley Greene is a 19-year old outfield prospect who is also already ranked in the top-60. We probably won't see him for a few more years, but he's someone to watch moving forward.
