    #4 LSU vs #1 Kansas

The LSU Tigers faced a higher seed for the first time this tournament, and it had to be the heavily favored Jayhawks of Kansas.

The Tigers actually held their own in the first half, and held a comfortable lead throughout most of it. At one point in time, the Bayou Bengals had a 12 point lead over the Jayhawks. However, Wayne Simien put Kansas on his back and carried them to a lead change. Going into the half, Kansas was up by four.

Whatever the two coaches said at halftime must've worked, because the second half was one of the most exciting halves in college basketball this season. There must've been 200 lead changes, and numerous runs by the squads, making the momentum go from one team to the other in a matter of seconds. However, Kansas pulled out to a huge lead late in the period. LSU came back numerous times, and pulled within a point, but had to result to fouling at the end - giving Kansas the 93-88 win - ending the Tigers' miraculous season.

    Players Of The Game

Coach Keller took LSU from a questionable SEC team to a Sweet 16 squad in just one year, and is expected to have another good year next season.

"Well, our goals this year were to get better, win the conference championship, and make it to the Sweet 16. I guess we did pretty good, huh?" remarked Keller.

"Let's take it a step further next season."
