James White scored 24 points, and had 3 steals helping the Bearcats take the Conference USA title for the 9th time in 10 seasons. White also picked up the honors as the tournament MVP, by averaging 18 points, 3.3 steals and 4 rebounds a game. Southern Miss had defeated teams like Memphis, Marquette and Charlotte, but looked exhausted against Cincinnati allowing 21 turnovers.

Southern Miss had been a surprise throughout the whole tournament, but just couldn't get anything to go their way in the championship game. The Bearcats did not have a single turnover, Miss had 21. Cincinnati also had a huge performance from their bench getting 45 points. "The guys deserved this, they fought all year to reach this goal. Hopefully they keep it up in the big dance." Coach Huggins said after the win. The Bearcats will know later today what seed they will have in the NCAA Tournament, and who they will be facing next week.

TV Guide released a series of four covers for this week in honor of the NCAA Tournament which gets underway Thursday. Cincinnati's stud senior forward Jason Maxiell was one of four to make the cover after it was annouced the Bearcats recieved a #1 seed in the tournament. Cincinnati went 30-4, won the C-USA Championship and finished the season in the Top-10 in both polls. North Carolina's Rashad McCants, Illinois' Deron Williams and Kansas' Wayne Simien were the other four players that made the series as their teams picked up #1 seeds as well. The Bearcats begin play on Thursday when they take on the #16 seeded New Hampshire Wildcats who came out of the America East with a title.

I live in Vancouver, across the river from Portland, Oregon. I've been to Yakima many times before, my grandparents live near there in The Dalles, Oregon my grandpa makes trips to Yakima all the time. I've seen the Yakima Bears play a couple times in the summer as well.

Bearcatsfan, just wanted to say that I have been reading. Great Job...very well laid out and easy to read. You have sort of inspired me to create my own dynasty thread. I will be starting up one soon as I can get my wife and kid out of the house for some peace and quiet!. I may try and start one this weekend with the Hurricanes. They will try and take over the ACC in Basketball. Duke and Carolina wont' know what hit them.

Cincinnati rolled over New Hampshire 70-33 in Stillwater last night, Roy Bright led the Bearcats off the bench with 20 points, giving the starters some rest. Armein Kirkland also added 12 off the bench along with a couple steals. The New Hampshire Wildcats were 14-16 and winners of the American East title this year, but looked confused when trying to stop the Bearcats explosive offense.

There were a few upsets in round one, in the Syracuse Regional, Wake Forest was upset by Ball State 64-59 in overtime. Ball State's Terrance Chapman had 35 points. In the Austin Regional, Both Louisville and Michigan State, the 4 and 5 seeds fell by 12 points, meaning Cincinnati has an easier chance at the Sweet Sixteen if they win against Pittsburgh. The Chicago Regional had no upsets, but featured a close game between Maryland and Lafayette. In the Albuquerque Regional, Memphis was knocked off by Hawaii 94-82 and Davidson defeated Connecticuit 72-70 in overtime. It took Kansas two overtimes to defeat Tennessee Martin 120-113.

Bearcatsfan, just wanted to say that I have been reading. Great Job...very well laid out and easy to read. You have sort of inspired me to create my own dynasty thread. I will be starting up one soon as I can get my wife and kid out of the house for some peace and quiet!. I may try and start one this weekend with the Hurricanes. They will try and take over the ACC in Basketball. Duke and Carolina wont' know what hit them.
